Chapter 611. News From Kunlun, the Great Age's Providence Emerges
The news came from Mount Kunlun and was delivered personally by Zhu Qingyu.
Lu Yuan and all the Celestial Court's core members had gathered on Jade Emperor Peak. The Golden-Winged Great Peng and the other beast kings stood nearby.
At first, everyone assumed the news concerned the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons. Once they heard the details, they realized it was an entirely different matter.
"A few days ago, an earthquake struck Mount Kunlun. Auspicious purple qi spread for more than nine thousand miles, and I sensed a powerful force taking shape within the mountain. I can't tell what it is."
Ice Fairy nodded as Zhu Qingyu spoke. Since the phenomenon did not appear to be connected to the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons, the two had originally planned to investigate it themselves. In the end, they sensed that the power taking shape within the mountain was beyond their control and came to Mount Tai after a brief hesitation.
The phenomenon over Mount Kunlun was also far too striking to escape notice. It had already drawn a number of Outer Cosmos beings, all of whom knew that something significant had happened there and wanted to investigate.
Lu Yuan was puzzled by the news. He had always known that Mount Kunlun was mysterious, but he could not tell what this phenomenon signified. Rather than speculate, he turned to Jiang Ningxian for her opinion.
"I think the time has come. That power may be... the legendary Great Age's Providence."
Jiang Ningxian's conjecture startled everyone present.
They already knew that the Outer Cosmos beings had descended to Earth in search of the Great Age's Providence. According to the legends, it was an extraordinarily mysterious force that appeared in multiple strands. Anyone who obtained one would receive the unseen blessing of Heaven and Earth.
The Celestial Court's members had initially been very interested in it. But as time passed without any sign of the Great Age's Providence, and with the Ji Clan and the Eternals posing a constant threat, the matter gradually slipped from their minds. Eventually, many began to suspect that it was merely a legend.
Now, just when everyone had stopped thinking about it, signs of it had appeared.
Even Lu Yuan was surprised. He had nearly forgotten about it as well, but Jiang Ningxian's reminder made him realize what the phenomenon might mean.
"Since it is the Great Age's Providence, we naturally cannot miss it."
Lu Yuan rose and thought for a moment before continuing, "Gather some members of the Celestial Court and prepare to head for Mount Kunlun. I also want to see exactly what this Great Age's Providence is."
If it really had the effects described in the legends, his plan was simple. He would seize it and use its power to benefit everyone in the Celestial Court, making the entire organization stronger.
Lu Yuan had already been considering how to strengthen the forces under him before the great calamity arrived. He could not use his Providence for the time being, but despite sharing the same name, the Great Age's Providence was clearly a different kind of power. If it could empower the Celestial Court, the benefits would be immense.
They had to secure it.
"Yes!"
Zhu Qingyu and the others nodded at once. None of them had ever seen the Great Age's Providence, but they had heard enough to know that obtaining it would greatly benefit the Celestial Court. They immediately went to make preparations.
Jiang Ningxian reminded them that there was no need to gather everyone at once. Although the Great Age's Providence had manifested, it had not yet fully emerged. It would need at least another ten days to half a month to finish taking shape, which gave them more than enough time to prepare.
Once they understood, Zhu Qingyu and the others left Mount Tai.
"The Outer Cosmos beings won't give up on the Great Age's Providence either. That was their only purpose for coming here in the first place," Jiang Ningxian said after everyone had left.
When the time came, the beings of the various starfields would undoubtedly make their move. Everyone now knew that the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons were about to descend upon this universe. Any additional strength would improve their chances of survival. No matter how much they feared the Celestial Court and Lu Yuan, they would still act when the Great Age's Providence appeared.
"Whatever they may think, the Great Age's Providence was born from Earth, so it should remain on Earth." A faint smile appeared in Lu Yuan's eyes. This power had been nurtured by their planet. Why should they hand it over to anyone else?
Jiang Ningxian nodded. She felt the same.
The Jiang Clan had initially entertained some thoughts about the Great Age's Providence as well. But as Lu Yuan rose, they came to realize that he might be more valuable than the Great Age's Providence itself.
Besides, the Celestial Court and the Jiang Clan were now so closely allied that they were nearly one. There was no reason for the two sides to compete over it. As for the experts from the other starfields, Jiang Ningxian doubted they could cause much trouble. The Celestial Court was no longer what it had once been.
More importantly, Lu Yuan was here.
Aside from Supreme Immortals, who in the entire universe could stand against him now? As long as he appeared, he could bring the situation under control. There was little else to worry about.
"Still..." Something occurred to Lu Yuan. After a moment's thought, he continued, "When the Celestial Court faced its previous crisis and the experts of those two factions appeared, several powerful starfield clans stood with us at the critical moment. We cannot forget them.
"Since they came to our aid, we should repay them. Once we secure the Great Age's Providence, we can set aside a portion for them."
Lu Yuan had once considered bringing those powerful starfield clans under his command by conferring titles upon them with the Celestial Emperor's Edict. That would also strengthen the Celestial Court.
But such things could not be forced. They had to be willing.
In any case, that was a separate matter. Those clans had stepped forward when it mattered. Even if their intervention had not accomplished much, the Celestial Court still needed to show its gratitude.
Jiang Ningxian smiled when she heard this. Naturally, she had no objection and deferred to Lu Yuan's decision.
Everyone then began preparing while they waited for the Great Age's Providence to finish taking shape. A few dozen days passed in the blink of an eye.
However, this time, Lu Yuan specially summoned every core member to Mount Tai and brought out the Eternal Warship, as though the Celestial Court were setting out on campaign.
Besides rallying everyone, the display was also meant to intimidate the races of the various starfields. The Celestial Court was no longer what it had once been.
