Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready

Chapter 609. The Borderlands, the Two Starfield Lords Finally Emerge

  • Next Chapter

Not everyone could be like Lu Yuan, adapting soon after entering a new realm and then reaching its peak within a short time. His accumulated strength was simply too deep, and he also had a divine treasure like the Bodhi Tree assisting him.

For anyone else, even a Supreme Immortal Starfield Lord would need a long time.

There was another reason as well. Neither the Eternals' Starfield Lord nor the Ji Clan's Starfield Lord had reached their current realm through their own efforts. They had relied upon the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons to achieve something they could not have accomplished alone.

Their advancement into the Quasi-Emperor Realm had depended on an external power, making it even harder for them to adapt. That was why they had remained in seclusion for so long.

Otherwise, they would have begun acting long ago against all sides.

They had already reached an agreement with the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons.

Now that the plan had encountered a setback, the two of them could only watch from seclusion.

Yet at the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons' insistence, it seemed they would have to emerge ahead of time.

Although they had reached the Quasi-Emperor Realm, they remained reluctant to emerge before fully adapting to it.

"Let our people investigate what is happening," the Eternals' Starfield Lord said. "Our two factions still have enough strength in reserve to accomplish that much. Even if they cannot resolve the trouble on Earth, at least they can find out what is going on."

The Ji Clan's Starfield Lord nodded, agreeing that this was a sound plan.

They closed their eyes, preparing to contact their clansmen, who should still have been near the Milky Way Starfield in accordance with their earlier orders.

Even as Starfield Lords, they could not keep track of every matter. As a rule, they left their clansmen to manage their own affairs.

The two then tried to contact the clansmen aboard the Eternal Warship.

However, they soon opened their eyes. Their special methods had failed to elicit even the slightest response. This was highly unusual; before now, their clansmen had always answered quickly.

But now, there was no reaction at all, as though every one of them had vanished.

At any other time, this would have been impossible, unless...

The same thought occurred to both of them.

Their clansmen were gone.

On Earth, the pure-blooded clansmen of the Forsaken Heaven Clan had all been killed.

From this, they could infer how powerful the one who acted was. The clansmen of the Eternals and the Ji Clan had probably also suffered a heavy blow in that battle.

The realization alarmed them. Those clansmen represented part of their factions' core strength. They were not the entirety of their forces, but every one of them was an elite. If they had all perished...

The loss would be terrifying for both factions.

Calling it a devastating blow would not be an exaggeration.

"What exactly happened on Earth?" the Ji Clan's Starfield Lord asked, his eyes filled with disbelief.

He could hardly believe such a thing had happened. Yet with no way to contact their clansmen, there was no other conclusion to draw.

There had to be a problem.

"It seems we must make the trip ourselves. Otherwise, our plan may truly be compromised," the Eternals' Starfield Lord said solemnly.

To join forces with the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons, they had directly betrayed the Xuanhuang Cosmos and made enemies of everyone.

Their goal was to become the supreme rulers of this world once the plan succeeded. But if anything went wrong, both the Eternals and the Ji Clan might face a reckoning.

Even though they had reached the Quasi-Emperor Realm, that did not make them invincible. Without the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons' help, carrying out the rest of their plans would become exceedingly difficult.

"That's right. We cannot remain in seclusion. No wonder the Forsaken Heaven Clan needs you and me to act." The Ji Clan's Starfield Lord frowned. "It seems something really did happen on Earth. But who was responsible? If it was not Jiang Taiyu, who else could have done this?"

Both could only speculate, though they knew the culprit was extremely powerful.

At the very least, if they had not broken into the Quasi-Emperor Realm, dealing with that person might have been a little troublesome.

Ordinarily, they would have known the identity of anyone that powerful. Yet no one came to mind.

Of course, the two of them would never have thought that the one who acted was Lu Yuan.

In their eyes, although Lu Yuan was strong and astonishingly talented, he had cultivated for too short a time. He might become a serious threat in the future, but certainly not yet.

Both Starfield Lords understood that further speculation was useless. They had to act and resolve the crisis.

"We are in the cosmic borderlands, extremely far from the Milky Way Starfield. Even at our current level, reaching it will probably take three months. I only hope nothing unexpected happens before we arrive," the Eternals' Starfield Lord said.

Even a Quasi-Emperor could not ignore such a vast distance. The universe was simply too immense, as though it had no end.

"A Quasi-Emperor is ultimately not the Human Sovereign Celestial Emperor. If we had that kind of strength, we could travel anywhere in the universe with a single thought."

The Ji Clan's Starfield Lord knew the gap between them and figures like that was enormous, almost beyond description.

"Human Sovereign Celestial Emperor?"

Hearing this, the Eternals' Starfield Lord laughed. "If you and I had that kind of strength, would we still need to cooperate with the Forsaken Heaven Clan? Back then, they only managed to stop that ancestor of yours by paying an enormous price."

"Otherwise, they would not have taken so long to recover and invade the Xuanhuang Cosmos again."

Their dealings with the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons had revealed many secrets. For example, if this world still had a Human Sovereign Celestial Emperor, there would be little need to fear the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons.

The only concern was that the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons might fight with their lives on the line.

They knew that the Forsaken Heaven Clan's ancestors were not inferior to a Human Sovereign Celestial Emperor in battle. After so many years, they had likely grown even stronger.

The two great experts said no more and rose. This time, they would have to act personally.
