Gene Domination: The Loli Who Devours Worlds
Chapter 220: Beneath the Abyss
Soon, people realized what this swarm was waiting for.
In the waters of the Pacific Ocean, the entire world held its breath the moment the swarm dragged Venomous Matriarch beneath the surface.
In the satellite imagery, the swarm waited quietly, while in the distance, four giant insects measuring over fifty meters in size appeared at that moment.
That hundred-and-eighty-meter Category 5 Monster had its limbs clamped by the four giant insects swimming over, and was slowly dragged into the deep sea.
Behind them, millions of insects followed closely, densely packed like a massive black dragon burrowing into the depths of the ocean.
The surface of the sea returned to tranquility.
It was as if nothing had ever happened.
Inside the Central Control Room of the Pacific Rim Base.
Everyone stared at that patch of sea which had regained its calm, remaining silent for a long time.
“Where did they… go?”
An officer murmured.
No one could answer him.
Sterk stood before the main screen, his brow furrowed deeply.
He didn’t know where those insects were going, but he knew—a storm was brewing.
Behind him, the ten Reincarnators looked at one another, all seeing the same answer in each other’s eyes.
The Wormhole.
They were going to the Wormhole.
Using Venomous Matriarch’s body, they would pass through that rift connecting the two worlds and enter the Kaiju’s lair.
This plan was crazy and bold.
However, would these swarms alone really be enough when facing the Kaiju army on the other side of the Wormhole?
The leading Reincarnator fell silent for a moment before speaking in a low voice.
“They are… going to their deaths.”
Sterk spun around abruptly.
“What do you mean?”
The Reincarnator shook his head without explaining.
He couldn’t say, nor could he explain.
Was he supposed to tell Sterk that this world was just a movie? That the place those insects were going was the Kaiju’s nest?
He could only say:
“My intuition tells me that something big is about to happen.”
Sterk’s pupils contracted slightly.
Intuition.
His intuition was also sounding a frantic alarm.
From the moment those insects appeared, an indescribable unease had constantly lingered in his heart.
Now, that unease had grown even stronger, as if something destructive was approaching.
“How is the progress at Shao Industries?”
Looking at a nearby civil official, Sterk asked in a heavy voice.
“They are working at full capacity. President Shao said that, at the earliest, the first Heavy Mecha can be completed in five days.”
Five days.
Sterk took a deep breath.
Not enough time.
But he had no other choice.
“Notify Shao Liwen to drop all other orders and work full-time on those eleven Jaegers. All resources are to be prioritized for them.”
“Yes!”
The civil official responded with a serious expression!
Sterk turned around and gazed at the calm sea once more.
The storm was coming.
…
Inside a restaurant in Hong Kong.
The food had already gone cold.
Lilith sat by the window with a tablet propped up on the table. She rested her chin on one hand, head tilted, staring lazily at the screen.
Within those crimson eyes, the reflection of the now-calm sea was visible.
A faint smile hung on the corners of her mouth.
“Truly bold indeed.”
She whispered to herself.
“To actually think of using Venomous Matriarch’s body to enter the Wormhole.”
But relying solely on these swarms, they wouldn’t be able to cause much damage against the countless Kaiju inside the Wormhole.
Unless—
They could self-destruct.
But if the power of the self-destruction wasn’t enough, these swarms would no longer have the advantage of numbers when facing an equally dense Kaiju army.
The other side clearly knew this as well.
Lilith leaned back against her chair, her fingers lightly tapping the table.
She was very curious.
What exactly was that Hive Lord trying to do?
…
The other side of the Wormhole.
This was the world of the Kaiju.
A gloomy sky, churning lava, and a desolate land.
The air was thick with the scent of sulfur, and countless massive silhouettes roamed this deathly silent world.
The entrance to the Wormhole hung in mid-air like a giant rift tearing through the sky.
And then—
Venomous Matriarch’s body fell from the rift.
The hundred-and-eighty-meter behemoth slammed into the ground like a meteorite.
Dust flew and the ground cracked.
Following close behind were millions of insects.
They were like a black waterfall pouring out of the rift, densely packed and covering the sky.
In the distance, countless Knifeheads roared at the sky upon seeing this.
But they could not fly; they could only bellow on the ground, waiting for the moment those Invaders landed to tear them to shreds.
But—
Those insects did not land.
During the fall, their bodies began to crack.
Thick carapaces split from their backs, and a pair of giant, cicada-thin wings extended from the cracks.
The wings hardened rapidly, shimmering with an eerie fluorescence under the gloomy sky.
Metamorphosis.
The swarms that had once glided across the sea’s surface completed a sublimation of life at this moment.
They crawled out of their empty shells, stretching their brand-new bodies—their forelimbs had transformed into two pairs of sickle-like blades, their tails shimmered with a deadly fluorescence, and their wings vibrated, emitting a piercing hum.
Millions of flying insects gathered in the sky like a moving dark cloud.
And then—
They locked onto their target.
In the distance, atop a towering rock platform, several giant figures were watching all of this.
The Precursors.
The creators of the Kaiju, the true masters of this world.
The flying swarm emitted piercing screeches and dove frantically toward the Precursors like arrows released from a bow!
Below, countless Kaiju roared as they tried to intercept them.
Otachi spread its wings and took to the air to meet the enemy, but the swarm’s numbers were simply too great. They swept past Otachi, tearing through its wing membrane with their sickle-like forelimbs and detonating its body with the shimmering fluorescence from their tails.
Explosions rang out one after another, and blue blood poured down like a rainstorm.
The swarm tore through a defensive line.
They rushed in front of the Precursors.
And then—
Self-destruction.
The first insect slammed into the energy barrier in front of the Precursors and exploded violently.
Fluorescent flames spread across the barrier, leaving behind a tiny crack.
The second, the third, the tenth, the hundredth—
Tens of thousands of insects, like moths to a flame, threw themselves one after another against that barrier.
The explosions merged into a single roar, and the fluorescent flames dyed the entire sky an eerie color.
The cracks grew larger and deeper.
Finally—
“Crack.”
The barrier shattered.
The swarm flooded in.
Explosions detonated violently at the location of the Precursors.
Flames soared into the sky, and the earth trembled.
Those high-and-mighty Precursors were submerged in the endless explosions.
The ground below began to collapse, crack, and sink under the continuous blasts…
…
Deep underground in India.
Dark, damp, and silent.
A giant worm slowly wiggled its bloated body, continuously laying snow-white eggs behind it.
Those eggs emitted a faint fluorescence, looking like strings of pearls in the darkness.
Suddenly—
It stopped its movements.
The twelve eyes on its forehead all opened at once.
In those eyes, the firelight and explosions from the other side of the Wormhole seemed to be reflected.
Its pupils were filled with excitement.
“It seems…”
It opened its mouth, which was full of sharp teeth, and let out a raspy, low voice.
“The plan succeeded.”
In the darkness, those snow-white eggs trembled slightly.
As if something was awakening inside them.
