The Pacific Ocean, clear skies for ten thousand miles.

On the surface of the sea, dense Swarms of insects like a moving black carpet covered an area of dozens of nautical miles.

They advanced in unison at high Speed in the same direction, ten pairs of legs sliding quickly underwater, stirring up layers of white waves.

High in the sky, several armed helicopters hovered and tracked, their onboard cameras transmitting real-time footage back to the Pacific Rim Base.

No one dared to attack rashly.

Because these insects had set off from the coastline.

If they had malicious intent toward humanity, the coastal cities would have been finished long ago.

But they didn’t; they just headed into the depths of the Pacific, advancing without looking back.

…

Inside the Central Control Room of the Pacific Rim Base.

Sterk stood before the main screen, his brow furrowed.

In the footage, those black Swarms were like a giant python in the ocean, winding forward without an end in sight.

He was certain these things were not Kaiju.

Similarly, they weren’t creatures from Earth either.

This reminded him of that Silver-White Tyrant that had appeared in America last time.

“Do you know what these things are?”

Sterk turned around and looked at the ten Reincarnators behind him.

These people were equally mysterious and equally powerful!

But he could at least be sure of one thing—they were on humanity’s side.

That was enough.

So he never obsessed over their identities.

But now, regarding these Swarms, he had no idea whose side they were on.

The leading Reincarnator took a deep breath, his expression solemn.

“I can tell you with certainty that they will help you deal with those Kaiju.”

He paused and continued.

“But whether they will turn on humans, I’m not sure.”

His gaze turned toward the black ocean on the screen, a deep sense of wariness flashing in his eyes.

“It’s best not to provoke them.”

Sterk’s brow furrowed even deeper.

But the Reincarnators did not continue.

They thought of the silver-white behemoth the military had discovered earlier.

This was definitely an SSS-Rank Hive Lord Hunter!

Only an existence of this level could pull off such a grand display.

Even that silver-white behemoth from before was likely a Guard created by that Hive Lord Hunter.

How strong is an SSS-Rank Hunter? No one knows.

But for Hunters of the Hive Lord path, the Guards they create are absolutely powerful enough to make all Hunters below SSS-Rank despair.

And the Level Six rating given by the military was the best proof!

The Silver-White Tyrant, and these Swarms.

Their appearance proved the strength of that Hunter and also proved—the other party was about to make a move.

Sterk looked at the wariness in the Reincarnators’ eyes, lost in thought.

These people were strong, far beyond ordinary humans.

But facing those insects, there was only wariness in their eyes.

As expected, they knew the origin of these creatures.

Or rather—

They came from the same place.

“Reporting, Commander!”

An officer stood up abruptly, his voice urgent.

“A powerful life signal has been detected deep in the Pacific! It’s surfacing rapidly! The Speed is extremely fast!”

“Based on the signal strength assessment—”

He paused, his Adam’s apple bobbing.

“Level Five! It’s a Level Five Kaiju!”

The entire Central Control Room instantly fell into a dead silence.

Level Five Kaiju.

That was a terrifying existence humanity had never faced before.

“Track the footage! Switch to it immediately!”

Sterk’s voice was low and urgent.

What he feared wasn’t the Level Five Kaiju itself, but the fact that it appeared so soon after the Level Four Kaiju. This Speed was too fast!

The screen switched.

In a certain area of the Pacific, the sea surface began to churn violently.

Giant bubbles rose from the seabed and burst on the surface, kicking up layers of massive waves.

Then—

A colossal behemoth slowly emerged from the seabed.

A 180-meter body, like a moving island.

Its form was different from any previous Kaiju.

Its head was massive, with head-hammers extending from both sides like a hammerhead shark.

Its limbs were thick and sturdy, with especially developed forelimbs and claws like several giant scythes.

Most terrifying was its tail, the end of which split into a trident, each prong as sharp as a blade.

Venomous Matriarch.

The Level Five Kaiju that appeared last in the movie, the top predator among Kaiju.

It emerged from the sea and let out a deafening roar toward the sky.

That sound pierced through the sea breeze and the clouds!

Then, its gaze fixed intently on the sea ahead, or rather, the Swarm rushing toward it at high Speed.

Inside the Central Control Room, the life detector readings jumped wildly, and the red warning lights flashed incessantly.

Everyone swallowed hard.

Level Five Kaiju.

Aside from that unencountered Level Six Monster, it was the strongest monster humanity currently faced!

And its appearance was precisely triggered by this group of insects.

However—

On the sea surface, after Venomous Matriarch appeared, the black Swarm accelerated.

At Venomous Matriarch’s appearance, they didn’t flee or retreat.

Instead, they accelerated, surging frantically toward Venomous Matriarch with overwhelming momentum!

Thousands, tens of thousands, millions.

Like a black tide, they surrounded the 180-meter behemoth from all directions!

Then—

They launched their attack.

The leading Swarm, like black arrows, dove directly into the sea to launch a surprise attack from below!

The giant pincers of their forelimbs clamped hard onto Venomous Matriarch’s abdomen, the sharp blades piercing into the flesh!

Venomous Matriarch roared in pain and swung its tail.

The trident tail swept across, instantly shredding hundreds of insects!

But more insects swarmed up.

They crawled onto Venomous Matriarch’s back, using their giant pincers to tear open the gaps in its carapace.

They crawled into Venomous Matriarch’s limb joints, using their sharp mandibles to cut through muscle fibers.

They even tried to crawl into Venomous Matriarch’s eyes, mouth, and every gap they could enter!

The sea surface was boiling.

Blue blood and black insect corpses intertwined, staining the entire sea area a bizarre blue-black.

The 180-meter Level Five Kaiju was actually being pinned down by millions of insects!

It struggled frantically; every claw swipe could shred hundreds of insects, and every tail whip could clear an area.

But the number of insects was simply too many; for every batch killed, ten more swarmed up.

Just as a wound was torn open, more insects crawled inside.

Venomous Matriarch’s roars gradually turned into wails of agony.

Inside the Central Control Room, there was total silence.

Everyone stared blankly at the screen, watching that Level Five Kaiju, capable of destroying a City, being suppressed, torn apart, and devoured alive by countless black insects.

“Is this… is this the power of the Hive Lord…”

A Reincarnator swallowed hard, his mouth dry, as he murmured in a voice only he could hear.

Sterk did not speak.

He stared fixedly at the screen, at those black Swarms that were hunting the Level Five Kaiju.

He dared not imagine what kind of world-ending scene it would be if these Swarms had malicious intent toward humanity!

On the screen, the hunt continued.

Venomous Matriarch was already covered in wounds, its blue blood turning the entire sea area blue.

It tried to struggle one last time, but was pinned back to the sea surface by the Swarm.

Then—

The Swarm stopped.

They didn’t kill Venomous Matriarch; they just trapped it on the sea surface, unable to move.

As if they were waiting for something.
