Game Invasion: 100x Evolution, From Weak to God
Chapter 306: Extreme Ascent
Haskor Empire.
Frontline Seventeenth Regiment garrison.
"Move, move, move. Artillery in position. All soldiers prepare for combat!"
The Seventeenth Regiment had received urgent intelligence from headquarters. A powerful alien race member was approaching their position, and they had to be ready to fight to the death without retreat.
The soldiers roared in unison.
"Exterminate the alien race!"
"Fight to the death and do not retreat!"
Caelum still had no time to understand what exactly was going on with this planet. In any case, every one of these red skinned, horned aliens acted as if they had no regard for their own lives.
They simply wanted him dead.
He could understand that, actually. Just as his parents had been killed by aliens, he also wanted to kill every alien he saw. Either they died or he did.
So he would not think too much about it, and there would be no misplaced mercy. Since they were clearly enemies, he might as well let loose and kill as many as he could.
Wind rushed past.
Caelum, gliding through the air, saw the Seventeenth Regiment blocking the way ahead. Before he even drew close, bursts of fire bloomed across the garrison.
"Fire!"
Shells from the short range artillery bombarded him wildly and knocked him out of the air. He could not fly, and while he was suspended in midair, he had no way to adjust direction or dodge.
Fortunately, these shells were not as powerful as the previous round of bombardment. After crashing to the ground, he looked at his left arm where he had been hit. The area around his shoulder was a bloody mess, and his left hand could no longer exert strength.
Yet the damage Caelum faced did not end there.
He suddenly looked up at the sky. A supersonic missile tore through the air, moving faster than his reaction limit, and struck the area where he stood.
Thunder erupted from the flat ground.
The instant the missile exploded, a terrifying shockwave spread outward. The air was visibly pushed aside, forming a distinct barrier like a wall.
This was not a kinetic kill projectile, but a missile that relied on explosive power and shockwave range to kill. Caelum moved too quickly, and his target profile was too small. A kinetic kill projectile could not hit him.
Area damage was the correct choice.
The explosion temperature of up to 3,000 degrees swallowed Caelum. The burst of fire shone with blinding brightness, and the air drained away by the blast became a second fatal strike.
An ordinary person within that range would have died instantly. Even without being struck by a single fragment, their organs would have burst from the shock, and their body would have been blown away like a scrap of tissue.
Thick smoke blocked the view of both the satellite and the Thirty Eighth Regiment.
"Confirming target status."
At this moment, Caelum was in poor condition.
Still, to be honest, he had never imagined in his life that he could survive an attack from modern heavy firepower.
"Huu..."
Like a demon emerging from smoke, he walked out of the blast cloud. The skin all over his body had suffered severe burns, with not one intact patch remaining. Even his previous wounds had been charred.
At least they were no longer bleeding.
His head swam as if his brain had been shaken apart. His steps felt heavy, and he needed some time to recover. The unsteady rhythm of his feet gradually became firm, and then he began to accelerate.
When this severely wounded beast charged, the commander of the Seventeenth Regiment felt a chill run through him. He frantically ordered the soldiers to open fire while reporting to headquarters.
"Reporting to headquarters, target alien race has not been eliminated. Target has not been eliminated!"
The distance was too close.
With one charge, Caelum broke through the Seventeenth Regiment’s artillery fire and entered their garrison. What followed was another one sided massacre.
Even badly injured, his terrifying physique was still not something ordinary soldiers of flesh and blood could resist. If artillery shells could not kill him, bullets stood even less of a chance.
Caelum’s left hand had been injured by a shell and could not exert force, so he fought with his right arm. He smashed enemies apart with his fist, split them open with the edge of his hand, or simply crashed through them with brute force.
Wherever he passed, corpses covered the ground and blood ran like a river.
Infinite Overload, potential release.
Strength: 90 tons.
Infinite Overload, potential release.
Strength: 213 tons.
Infinite Overload, potential release.
Strength: 592 tons.
They clearly could not beat him, yet these aliens still refused to run. Even trembling in fear, they kept throwing themselves forward, as if their hatred for alien races was deep beyond reason.
"The Haskor Empire is eternal. Die, alien race!"
Seeing that the battle had become a slaughter, the alien soldiers began strapping themselves with high explosives and rushing forward one after another in suicidal attacks.
Caelum punched one alien’s head apart, grabbed the corpse, and swept it around him, knocking away the aliens who had rushed in to blow themselves up.
The bombs exploded one after another, the roaring never stopping as shockwaves and dirt surged upward. Caelum’s increasingly powerful body allowed him to ignore these explosions more and more.
He paid them no mind.
Twenty minutes later, the Haskor Empire’s Seventeenth Regiment fell completely silent. The entire garrison became quiet, leaving only corpses and blood all over the ground.
How many people were in the Seventeenth Regiment?
3,062.
When the battle ended, Caelum’s strength had reached a level even he found hard to believe. His enormous weight made every step sink deep into the ground.
Fortunately, this planet’s gravity was much stronger than Earth’s, and its soil and geological structure were more solid. Otherwise, Caelum might have sunk straight into the earth.
Infinite Overload, potential release.
Strength: 3,200 tons.
Infinite Overload, extreme ascent.
Evolution Progress: 100 percent.
After this round of artillery bombardment and missile attack, Caelum, injured so heavily, had finally pushed his evolution progress to 100 percent.
The instant evolution progress reached 100 percent, power surged endlessly from within his body. His heart beat rapidly, loud as a war drum. Blood rushed through him like a torrent, and his injuries began healing faster.
Extreme Ascent in progress.
Caelum could feel the pain across his body continuously fading. His wounds were healing at an accelerated pace. The burned skin slowly scabbed over and fell away, revealing new, intact skin beneath.
The process was not fast.
It would likely take some time.
More importantly, Caelum could very clearly feel his body becoming lighter. His weight had not decreased. Rather, his body seemed able to float slowly under the control of his will.
He gently stepped onto the ground, and his feet no longer sank into it. As the evolution of Extreme Ascent deepened, Caelum’s ability to make himself float became stronger and stronger.
On the other side, Haskor’s wartime headquarters watched all of this through satellite images. There was no time to mourn the destroyed Seventeenth Regiment. They had to carry out a further response plan.
In the shortest possible time, the highest level officers approved the final response plan. They dispatched the weapon of war that the Haskor Empire was most proud of.
Inside a military camp, a muscular young man in an officer’s uniform took off his hat and stepped directly onto a missile launcher. He gave the operator in front of the rearview mirror a thumbs up.
"Then I wish you a triumphant return, Lord War Tyrant."
With that, the operator pressed the launch button. The missile fired, and War Tyrant punched through the warhead with one fist, grabbing the shell of the missile as it shot into the sky.
Express support, straight to the battlefield.
