Every alien civilization had its own peculiarities. The Haskor Empire’s combat strength did not rest entirely on firearms. Like ordinary humans on Earth, Haskors had no innate talents to speak of.

But the Haskor Empire had fought alien races for more than a hundred years, from the rise of steam civilization all the way into the nuclear information age. Over that long war, they had built an extremely rich database of alien genes.

Thirty years ago, the Supreme Academy of Sciences of the Haskor Empire launched a project. They planned to use alien genes to create stronger Haskors.

In one sense, they succeeded.

War Tyrant was born.

From the moment of his birth, he possessed terrifying brute strength. As he grew older, that strength continued to rise, until now he had reached several thousand tons of raw power.

He could drag a fully loaded heavy freight train by himself and run with it.

There were no flashy abilities. War Tyrant’s strength lay in a body pushed to the extreme. As a single soldier, he could be called invincible.

In another sense, the project had failed.

War Tyrant’s birth was a miracle. After him, they never managed to recreate an individual of his level.

Facing Caelum, this powerful member of an alien race, they chose to send War Tyrant.

Supersonic was called supersonic because it was faster than the speed of sound. Caelum’s senses had become sharper, but before he personally saw the missile, no matter how sensitive his ears were, he could not hear it coming in advance.

The missile struck the Seventeenth Regiment garrison.

Because it was being used as a one way vehicle, the warhead did not detonate this time. It only smashed out a huge crater.

"Looks like I made it."

War Tyrant jumped out of the crater and saw Caelum still immersed in evolution. He studied Caelum’s muscles with care. Their density seemed not much different from his own.

Delight immediately appeared on his face.

"This is the first time I have seen someone about as strong as me. As an enemy, that could not be better. Otherwise, there would be no way to have a proper contest."

Caelum did not answer.

He had also sensed the strength of the man before him. His guard rose. He could not be certain whether this planet had even stronger people.

Silence passed between them.

War Tyrant smiled.

The next instant, he attacked without warning. Violent power tore through the air and stirred a roaring gale as his fist came crashing down.

Caelum met it with his own fist.

The two fists collided. Wind pressure exploded outward, blasting the air around them apart. Layer after layer of soil was scraped away, as though a hurricane had swept through.

When War Tyrant saw that Caelum could truly contend with him, his excitement grew stronger.

"Yes. That is it!"

Then he released his speed and power without restraint.

Caelum also swung both fists in return. His left arm had been healed during Extreme Ascent, and it could already be used in battle.

But the ascent was not over yet.

In that violent, inhuman fight, their figures were almost impossible to follow. Wherever the battle moved, everything was destroyed. Rock was no sturdier than tofu before them.

With a thunderous crash, Caelum was forced back.

After that brief exchange, he confirmed it. War Tyrant was above him in both strength and combat experience.

In a battle between near equals, experience mattered greatly. At their level, complicated techniques were clearly useless. The fastest speed and the heaviest fist were the most practical and efficient ways to kill.

War Tyrant had more experience. He knew how to fight skillfully with this kind of power, and with his strength slightly superior as well, Caelum fell into disadvantage.

"My strength is about 4,000 tons. Looks like you are a little weaker than me. Your combat skill is not polished enough either. Seems you do not have much experience."

As he spoke, War Tyrant dashed forward and flashed in front of Caelum.

An unbearably heavy punch fell.

Caelum could only cross his arms to block. When that terrifying force came down, he felt as if the bones in his arms were about to break.

"Hahahaha, is that all?"

Caelum swept a whip like kick across.

War Tyrant raised his arm and turned his body to block it. Then he reached back, trying to seize Caelum’s leg, only for Caelum’s body to slide away in a motion that seemed to defy inertia.

"Hm?"

War Tyrant paused in surprise.

Caelum seized the opening and sent him flying with a punch. The force carved a trench dozens of meters long through the ground, leaving destruction in its wake.

Unfortunately, War Tyrant’s defense was even stronger. That level of attack could not injure him much. He gave Caelum no chance to follow up and immediately stabilized himself.

Caelum asked, "How many people like you are there here?"

War Tyrant grinned.

"Guess."

By this point, the scabs on Caelum’s body had fallen away completely. His skin was renewed, his injuries were gone, and he had returned to his original appearance.

Even his hair had grown back.

The power inside him kept strengthening until it finally stopped. Caelum’s strength climbed to another level.

This time, it was a brand new transformation.

Extreme Ascent complete.

Strength: 4,500 tons.

Evolution Progress: 1%

After Extreme Ascent completed, Caelum’s wounds were healed and his strength surged to 4,500 tons, far beyond his previous 3,200 tons.

And that was not all.

Caelum’s body slowly rose.

He floated in midair and naturally grasped true flight, as if he had been born with it.

War Tyrant’s pupils tightened.

"You can fly?"

A deafening sonic boom erupted.

In the span of a single second, Caelum entered supersonic speed, flew in front of War Tyrant, grabbed his head, and slammed it into the ground.

The earth shook.

Then Caelum hurled War Tyrant into the sky. His own body broke through the sound barrier, chased upward at even greater speed, and he clasped both hands together before hammering War Tyrant back down.

Now, both Caelum’s strength and speed were above War Tyrant’s.

Blood sprayed from War Tyrant’s mouth.

This was the first time he had been wounded in battle. The terrifying force drove into his body, and he could not stop himself from coughing blood in midair as he plunged toward the ground.

Caelum did not stop there.

He pressed the attack, refusing to let War Tyrant land. He battered him through the air like a ball. War Tyrant tried to grab Caelum during one of the attacks, only for Caelum to smash his forehead into him and leave his mind reeling.

At the end, Caelum dove toward War Tyrant as he fell from the sky, accelerating into three consecutive strikes.

Each blow carried the enormous kinetic force of accelerated flight.

Each punch was heavier than the last.

War Tyrant finally crashed into the ground, smashing out an enormous pit.

Inside it, he lay barely alive, completely stripped of the ability to fight.

As Caelum slowly descended from the air, War Tyrant gave him a broad smile. Blood kept pouring from his mouth, but with his last bit of strength, he raised his right hand and made the Haskor Empire’s gesture of contempt at Caelum.

"Cough, cough. You beat me so hard it hurt like hell, but I still have to say this was the best fight I have ever had. And last of all... gurgle... screw y..."

Caelum did not wait for the bastard to finish cursing. He stepped down with all his strength and crushed his head.

If War Tyrant’s skull had not already been shattered during the battle, crushing it now probably would not have been so easy.

Infinite Overload, potential release.

Strength: 6,000 tons.

Infinite Overload, extreme ascent.

Evolution Progress: 5%
