Game Invasion: 100x Evolution, From Weak to God
Chapter 301: Advanced Ingredient
The data on the interface refreshed rapidly. Lines of information kept sliding upward. Then a burst of interference passed through the screen, and the updated result appeared.
Test result: No special ability available for selection.
System compensation executing.
Loading complete.
At last, the information on the interface stopped moving and froze on Caelum’s attribute panel. Only then did his attention return from the sudden surge of power to the screen.
Name: Caelum
Race: Earth human
Talent: Infinite Overload
Evolution Progress: 0 percent
Strength: 10 tons
"10 tons of strength..."
Caelum clenched his fist and felt the power inside him. With a thought, he tapped the attributes on the panel and saw more detailed information. The so called 10 tons referred to the strength he currently possessed.
But it was not only strength.
This was a comprehensive evaluation. It meant that Caelum had the power of 10 tons, as well as muscles and bones strong enough to actually exert that much force.
His muscle strength and bone density had both risen enormously, causing his overall physical quality to soar. Even his weight and every bodily sense had improved by a huge margin.
Nothing about his appearance had changed much.
In reality, Caelum was now a humanoid beast.
Infinite Overload was likely the talent the system had compensated him with, but he could not quite understand the specific information. It only said that this talent gave him the possibility of infinite growth.
As for how to grow, it did not say.
Beep, beep.
The sound of car horns outside the window pulled Caelum back to himself. His hearing had become far too sharp, to the point where a car horn sounded like thunder in his ears.
He got up and went to wash, casually turning on the living room television so that the empty house would at least have some voices in it. The channel was broadcasting the news.
Water sounded from the bathroom.
In the living room, the news anchor continued speaking.
"This case is already the third murder in the past three months. The perpetrator’s methods were extremely cruel. Many wounds were found on the victim’s body, and it can be confirmed that the victim suffered brutal harm before death. Members of the public have expressed fear and called on the police to solve the case as quickly as possible and bring the killer to justice. This is Mossel Morning News."
The third?
Maybe there were more.
Caelum soon finished washing. He came to the living room and watched the morning news while throwing the broken toothbrush into the trash can. His strength was too great now, and with the slightest carelessness, he had snapped it.
On the coffee table in the living room sat a framed photograph.
Inside were Caelum and his parents.
Without that accident, they should still have been alive.
The memory was so clear it did not seem fake.
His father’s voice, his mother’s smile, the mountain road flashing past outside the car window during their trip, and the smell of blood that rushed toward him in that accident were all carved into his mind as if he had truly lived through them.
Caelum reached out and picked up the frame.
He looked at it for a while.
He knew this might be the identity prepared for him by this real world.
But the pain in those memories was real.
So was the killing intent.
His parents had taken him on a trip. On the road, the family of three was attacked. In the end, he alone survived by luck.
After waking, he told the police that a strange man with vines growing from his head had attacked them.
No one believed him.
Everyone said the blow had been too great, causing his memories to become confused.
No one believed him.
Later, Caelum stopped telling people.
The news report’s description of the victim’s injuries was exactly the same as the fatal wounds on his parents’ bodies. Caelum believed the killer was probably the same person.
"Since you cannot find him, I will do it myself."
Caelum changed his clothes.
Then he walked out alone into the street.
He now had the power for revenge. Since no one would give him an answer, he would find it himself. He would find the monster hidden in Mossel.
Then tear him apart.
On the street, noise pressed in from all directions.
Ring, ring.
"Yes, I am on East China Road."
"I do not know. Yesterday you..."
Countless sounds echoed beside Caelum’s ears. The noises he would normally ignore without thinking were now clear enough to irritate him. The scents of perfume, sweat, and car exhaust made his nose feel uncomfortable.
Caelum forced himself to adapt.
He went to the scene of the murder from the news report, hoping to discover something there, perhaps some special scent or trace.
Unfortunately, there was nothing.
The smells at the scene were too mixed. He had no way to start.
Day after day, Caelum used his own methods to search for the vine monster who had killed his parents. At the same time, he continued adapting to and familiarizing himself with his own strength.
It was no exaggeration to say he could punch through a wall.
Once he started running and gained momentum, the destructive power he could unleash became even more frightening. To test it, he often went to deserted places and released his full strength without restraint.
His tough skin and muscles allowed him to fully exert 10 tons of force. A blade striking his body could not leave even the slightest mark.
As for bullets, that was still unknown.
They would probably hurt a little, but would not be fatal.
Sometimes fate was truly strange.
Caelum had never managed to find the vine monster he wanted, yet one day, an unfamiliar face came looking for him instead.
It was night.
A young man with a head of green hair stopped Caelum.
In his eyes, Caelum seemed to be an incomparably delicious meal. The green haired young man’s eyes were filled with bloodshot veins, and he could not help drooling.
"Sorry, I really cannot hold back. I was planning to wait until we reached somewhere more secluded before making a move, but the scent from you is making my mouth water."
As he spoke, the green haired young man raised his hand.
His five fingers actually changed into emerald vines. They extended at an astonishing speed, growing thorns as they wound toward Caelum like swimming snakes.
Caelum stood where he was.
His pupils tightened violently as he stared at the young man’s fingers, now turned into vines.
The sight was far too familiar.
In the next instant, a thunderous boom tore through the night.
The green haired young man was sent flying as if a truck had smashed into him head on. An overwhelming force drove him straight through a wall beside the street.
Blood splattered.
The snake like vines snapped apart in an instant.
With blood across his face, the green haired young man was pinned down among the rubble by Caelum, whose expression had gone cold to the extreme. Pain tore through his entire body, and he still had not understood what had just happened.
"Was it you?"
Caelum gripped the green haired young man’s throat, his voice cold as he questioned him. At the same time, he smashed a fist into the man’s face, making blood burst out across it.
The green haired young man was beaten senseless.
Caelum asked again.
"Was it you back then?"
Pain pulled the green haired young man back to awareness. Looking at Caelum’s blood stained face before him, he shook with fear and answered while coughing blood.
"Cough, cough. What back then? I do not know what you are talking about."
"Did you kill a couple?"
"No, truly no. I only arrived here not long ago. I..."
The green haired young man pretended to submit, but as he spoke, his entire head suddenly split open into the shape of a Venus flytrap. Thorn covered leaves opened like a bloody maw and bit toward Caelum’s head.
Caelum acted without hesitation.
He tore off the green haired young man’s flytrap shaped head.
Fresh blood sprayed from the headless corpse.
Then, under Caelum’s gaze, the corpse of the green haired young man withered at a visible speed. The human appearance disappeared, replaced by a clump of dried vines.
The interface appeared.
Vine Planetian: A strange life form whose true body is composed of vines. They survive by sucking the blood of living beings. Humans are considered advanced ingredients and rare delicacies in their diet.
Infinite Overload, potential release.
Strength: 11 tons.
Feeling his strength increase clearly, Caelum finally understood what Infinite Overload meant by infinite growth.
It probably meant that every battle he experienced, or every enemy he killed, would increase his strength to a certain degree.
