Game Invasion: 100x Evolution, From Weak to God
Chapter 302: Slaughter
Vine Planetian.
Caelum typed the words into the search bar and pressed enter. The webpage immediately refreshed with many related or similar results.
He clicked through them one by one. After a long search, he found nothing useful. There was no image on the internet that truly resembled a Vine Planetian.
Most of the results were fictional characters.
Caelum was not entirely sure whether the information given by the system interface meant exactly what it seemed to mean. Were these so called Vine Planetians aliens from another planet?
Had aliens invaded Earth?
Fortunately, Vine Planetians were not especially powerful in combat. They probably did not dare expose themselves too easily. Once a country discovered them, a burst of gunfire would likely be enough to kill them.
Caelum had many questions. If Vine Planetians really were aliens, then how had they come to Earth? How advanced was their technological civilization?
And if the Vine Planetian from last night was not the culprit who had killed his parents two years ago, it meant there was more than one Vine Planetian on Earth.
There were no leads.
Caelum stopped thinking too much. Those things had nothing to do with him. Right now, he only wanted to find the Vine Planetian who had murdered his parents two years ago.
He lifted his head.
Across the street was the place where last night’s fight had happened.
There was no police tape. No officers. Only passing pedestrians who occasionally stopped to look. Inside the wall that had been smashed through lay a clump of withered vines, ignored by everyone.
"Huh, who did this?"
"What a lousy job. Which construction crew is this unprofessional?"
"Is that... blood?"
"No way..."
Caelum listened to the idle talk of passersby and quietly watched everything.
If the Vine Planetian he had killed had accomplices, would those accomplices come to check the scene?
They would.
At this moment, the answer became certain.
A young man in a loose casual jacket passed by from the side. Only after he had gone some distance away did Caelum slowly follow the scent. The bloody odor mixed with the smell of plants was far too obvious.
Speaking of which, did Vine Planetians count as plants or animals?
The question passed through Caelum’s mind.
He followed from far behind the entire way and was not discovered by the young man. Eventually, he was led to a deserted and secluded villa.
Caelum looked around. After confirming there were no surveillance cameras, he jumped over the two meter wall, only to happen to run face to face into a burly man in a suit walking out of the house.
The man froze.
"Human?"
Caelum smiled.
There was no need for any nonsense.
He moved in an instant. Muscles capable of releasing 11 tons of force in a flash also allowed him to erupt with terrifying speed in the blink of an eye.
Air screamed past.
By the time the suited man reacted, Caelum’s fist had already punched through his chest. Blood flowed out and dyed Caelum’s arm red.
"You..."
Caelum pulled his arm free.
The suited man collapsed with his chest pierced through. His strong body quickly returned to its original form, withering into a clump of vines.
"So the heart is a fatal weakness too."
Alien life really was strange. They were clearly made of plants, yet they still had things like hearts and internal organs, and those were even their weak points.
Infinite Overload, potential release.
Strength: 12 tons.
His strength rose again.
So every enemy he killed increased his strength by 1 ton.
Caelum understood.
Then he walked straight into the house.
A large amount of Vine Planetian scent gathered here, pointing him toward the place where they were assembled.
The basement.
In the dim space, deafening music filled the air. Colorful lights flashed without stopping. The whole place looked like a bar lost in a wild carnival.
The young man who had no idea he had been followed sat in front of the bar and spoke to the middle aged male bartender behind it.
"That useless green haired fool got killed."
The bartender mixed a glass of scarlet liquid and pushed it over.
"Discovered by humans?"
"Does not seem like it." The young man thought back to the scene of Green Hair’s miserable death. "If it had been humans, the traces of battle would not look like that."
Vine Planetian vines were flexible and tough. Their bodies were somewhat stronger than humans, but only somewhat. They would still be wounded if cut by a blade.
Let alone if they were shot.
The bartender did not care about Green Hair’s death at all.
"Dead is dead. Since it was not humans, it was probably one of our own kind. He was too flashy. He was bound to be discovered sooner or later."
"One of our own..."
A heavy crash interrupted their conversation.
It also made the many Vine Planetians partying wildly in the dark space freeze. They all looked toward the iron door at the basement entrance.
Another crash followed.
This time, the entire iron door was kicked flying.
Caelum walked in calmly. Through the flickering lights, he saw the horrifying scene inside the bar.
This was not a bar.
It was a Vine Planetian cafeteria.
The thick scent of human blood instead made Caelum grin. His gaze swept over the figures present, and killing intent erupted in an instant.
A Vine Planetian slammed into the wall, its head crushed under Caelum’s hand.
Seeing this, the other Vine Planetians immediately entered combat state.
No words were needed.
This human had come to hunt them, and they had to kill this human.
Their heads split open into the shapes of Venus flytraps. Vines like tentacles stretched out from their bodies and surged madly toward Caelum, only to be torn apart by him in the blink of an eye.
Savage strength.
Terrifying speed.
Unshakable defense.
This was a completely one sided battle. Caelum could tear apart and smash through Vine Planetian bodies with ease, while they could do nothing to him.
The most frightening part was that Caelum’s power was still rising rapidly. Every Vine Planetian he killed made his physical ability stronger.
Infinite Overload, potential release.
Strength: 13 tons.
Infinite Overload, potential release.
Strength: 15 tons.
Infinite Overload, potential release.
Strength: 20 tons.
"Save me!"
Caelum tore apart the vines binding him like swimming snakes. Juice or blood splashed through the darkness. He grabbed the head of the Vine Planetian in front of him.
With a slight squeeze, the head burst.
The terrified cry for help stopped.
Suddenly, a sharp sound tore through the air beside his ears.
Caelum turned his head and shifted aside at the same time. A blade shaped vine whip swept past and struck the nearby wall.
Stone chips scattered as a slash mark appeared.
The bartender’s entire arm had transformed into a vine whip. He remained composed, completely indifferent to the deaths of his own kind. Not the slightest fluctuation appeared in his mood or expression.
He asked Caelum, "What are you?"
Caelum looked around.
There were still some Vine Planetians left to clean up. He had questions that needed answers, but one person answering them would be enough.
With that thought, his body flashed.
The bartender’s expression changed. His clothes burst apart, and a number of vines far beyond that of ordinary Vine Planetians stretched from his body.
It was useless.
An unstoppable force poured out. Caelum’s fist punched through the bartender’s vine defenses as easily as a needle piercing tofu, then passed through his chest.
With a heavy crash, the bartender was blasted into the wall along with the force. Caelum’s fist sank deep into the wall.
He pulled it free and let the bartender’s blood spray out.
Then he turned toward the Vine Planetians trying to flee and stepped in front of the basement door.
Today, every one of them had to die here.
