Game Invasion: 100x Evolution, From Weak to God
Chapter 298: Sequence Stage Four
This was the Grand Archbishop’s confidence in killing a god.
The blood spear was a relic left behind by an Outer God, and it did indeed possess the ability to kill gods.
But if he thought merely holding it meant he could truly slay a god, he was far too naive.
No matter how powerful the blood spear was, the Grand Archbishop remained mortal.
He had no ability to face an ancient god directly.
His so called godslaying was nothing but one sided fantasy.
Only in Caelum’s hands could the spear reveal its greatest value.
That was why Caelum had attacked the Crossbone Order.
His luck was good.
Before he even went to Skull Town, the Grand Archbishop had arrived in Cton first, personally delivering this relic of an Outer God into his hands.
In the world of Old Gods, source essence was the root of all power, and also the root of all mystery and all things.
It was the materialized form of origin.
The advancement of a Sequence path was, in essence, the continuous increase and refinement of one’s own source essence.
And this was the blood spear’s ability.
It could draw out the source essence of all life, then inject it into its holder, thereby raising the holder’s strength and Sequence path.
The Grand Archbishop had used this method to obtain powerful strength.
Unfortunately, Caelum was an exception.
His strength could not be measured by Sequence Stage.
Although he was only Stage Three, no Sequence user, not even an ancient god, could afford to be touched by him once.
Otherwise, there was only death.
Stages were no longer important to Caelum.
What he wanted was transformation. Advancement into a higher form of existence.
An existence like an ancient god.
Because of that, the blood spear was crucial to him.
In the blink of an eye, the Grand Archbishop was completely drained and became a dried corpse.
A vast amount of source essence poured into Caelum’s body, pushing his Investigator Sequence straight into Stage Four.
After advancing to Stage Four, the world changed greatly in Caelum’s eyes.
The information and intelligence of all things were now exposed before him without concealment.
He could even browse through all the memories of a person before him at any time, or flip through the entire past of any object.
Before him, nothing had secrets or privacy left.
He could even read the history of the current space and time.
But it was still a little short.
This was far from the ultimate power Caelum sought.
What he wanted to see was the existence of all concepts.
What he wanted to see was truth, and all cause and effect.
Only if he could touch these things would One Hit Kill truly unleash its full power.
Only then would his strength no longer be limited to the world of Old Gods.
From there, he could stand above the infinite story worlds and the systems, possessing the power to erase concepts, erase cause and effect, and completely break through the invisible ceiling.
The source essence owned by the Grand Archbishop was far greater than that of an ordinary Stage Four. It had long since exceeded more than ten times that amount.
Yet even so, he had still been unable to advance to Stage Five.
Caelum, who accepted all of this source essence, was the same.
Advancing to Stage Four was already the limit.
It seemed something was missing.
An unbreakable shackle blocked him before the threshold of Stage Five.
The station had become a scene of extreme chaos because of the sudden battle.
Terrified people fought to escape, fleeing in every direction.
Javier was very smart.
He stood in place without moving, both hands raised.
When Caelum’s gaze turned toward him, he stressed it again.
"I have no hostility toward you. I surrender!"
Javier understood the power of the blood spear very well.
Aside from its ability to draw source essence, as a weapon, it also had the effect of always striking its target.
There was no escaping it.
His luck was good.
Caelum ignored him and turned instead toward the station entrance.
A group of people in trench coats had arrived with fierce momentum.
The Secret Investigation Bureau was here.
Guzman’s face was grim. His gaze swept across the corpses scattered over the ground, and he cursed under his breath.
"The situation seems to have become even more complicated."
Geraldine badly wanted to follow in and watch, but she was stopped outside the station.
The battle to come was too dangerous. An ordinary person like her could not interfere.
Guzman looked at the back of the tall man in front of him.
"Chief, what do we do?"
The moment the chief of the Secret Investigation Bureau sensed the ancient god’s aura on Caelum, he had already sentenced him to death.
Such a person absolutely could not be left alive.
"Kill him!"
The words fell.
One minute later.
Javier still stood where he was, unmoving.
There were more than twenty additional corpses on the station platform.
Blood covered the entire ground, dripping down beside the platform.
In a single encounter, Cton’s Secret Investigation Bureau had been wiped out.
The bureau chief was pinned to a pillar on the platform by the blood spear, horror filling his eyes.
No matter what, he had never imagined this battle would be so cruel.
They had simply come to die.
The strength Caelum displayed far surpassed his imagination.
"Is this the power granted to you by an ancient god?"
Death on touch.
This was not the ability of the Investigator Sequence at all.
Among the team he had brought, it was not as if no one was immune to instant death abilities.
Yet what made it impossible to believe was that immunity had been useless.
Whether someone was immune to instant death or not did not matter.
As long as they were touched by Caelum’s blade or spear, they died on the spot.
There was no reason to it.
And the blood spear also carried a true hit effect.
True hit plus certain kill.
How could anyone possibly block that?
Caelum did not answer.
Now that his reason had reached its extreme, he already felt even speaking was a waste of energy.
He had no interest in opening his mouth.
He gripped the spear.
In the blink of an eye, he drained the bureau chief’s source essence dry.
As the source essence fully flowed away, the chief also became a dried corpse.
Caelum pulled out the spear.
He glanced at Javier, then stepped over corpse after corpse and walked past the platform.
His figure disappeared.
Only Javier remained, standing among bodies spread across the ground, lingering fear still crawling through him.
"Hah..."
Javier’s back was already soaked with sweat.
He looked at the dead bodies on the ground, their eyes still open.
"See? I already said Cton was dangerous."
From getting off the train to entering hell.
A complete one stop service.
A cold wind blew past.
He shrank his neck and hurriedly left.
A moment later, Geraldine entered the platform.
When she saw the corpses covering the ground, she felt a shock unlike any she had experienced before.
The visual impact was too strong.
This scene was nothing like the morgue.
Once again, she felt Caelum’s danger in the most direct way possible.
"Did he do all of this?"
The dead on the ground gave no answer to Geraldine’s murmured question.
Blood flowed quietly.
Ahead, a train whistle sounded, and another train slowly entered the station.
At the same time, beside Lake Senaga outside Cton, two familiar faces appeared.
Derek and Guy stood on the shore, looking out over the calm lake.
Guy asked, "This is the place, right?"
Derek put away the map and nodded.
"Yes. This is Lake Senaga."
