Oladu raised his hand and gave a sharp wave, ordering Yin Sang and the others.

“Blow up this building!”

He intended to bury Long Ming under the rubble.

“Yes, sir!”

Yin Sang and his men took out demolition charges and quickly planted them on the building’s exterior.

Oladu and his men then fell back and activated the detonator.

BEEP BEEP…

BOOM—

A massive explosion erupted. The entire metal building collapsed with a roar, instantly reduced to a pile of rubble.

“Sir, the target is buried. He’s definitely finished,” Yin Sang reported to Oladu.

“Well done!” Oladu replied, clearly satisfied.

Suddenly, a beam of dark red light shot out from the ruins, piercing straight into the sky.

‘Not good!’

Oladu’s expression faltered.

BAM—

As the beam of light faded, a figure leaped out from the hole in the rubble and landed squarely on the ground.

Oladu and his men were stunned when they saw Long Ming.

‘Is this guy human or a monster?’ was their first thought.

Oladu’s expression grew grim. He stared at Long Ming and demanded in a cold voice,

“Who the hell are you? How dare you kill a member of the Third Legion!”

Long Ming didn’t answer. Instead, he raised the sharp blade on his arm and pointed it at Oladu.

“Good. It’s been a while since I’ve met someone with this much nerve. Let’s see if your spine is as tough as your attitude.”

Oladu activated his jet wings and shot high into the sky.

Long Ming immediately saw that Oladu was trying to kite him, attacking from a distance.

He stomped hard on the ground, transforming into a streak of light that shot toward the ascending Oladu. He swung his sharp blade in a downward slash.

Oladu, startled, raised his long spear to parry.

CLANG!

Sparks flew as terrifying Power slammed into Oladu’s mech frame.

In an instant, Long Ming overpowered Oladu, forcing him to plummet toward the ground.

Oladu’s eyes went wide, and he was completely stunned. ‘My Shadowstalker is a custom-grade model! How could its Power lose out to his?’

CRASH!

Oladu slammed heavily into the ground.

The earth shattered on impact!

The Shadowstalker’s entire metal frame groaned and creaked.

Just then, Long Ming lunged, his sharp claws slashing toward Oladu.

Oladu’s face paled. He immediately activated a honeycomb-patterned Energy Barrier.

CRACK!

Long Ming’s claws struck the Energy Barrier.

His crimson eyes flared. With a sudden burst of Power, his sharp claws tore right through the Energy Barrier.

Oladu, aghast, immediately rolled aside to evade.

Long Ming’s claws missed, gouging the ground instead.

Oladu was still breathing a sigh of relief and scrambling to his feet when a sharp, bony tail spike shot toward him.

‘Dammit!’

Oladu twisted his body at the last second, narrowly dodging.

The bony tail spike scraped past his mech.

But before Oladu could even sigh in relief, the tail spike whipped back around.

CRUNCH!

The sharp, bony tail spike pierced through his shoulder.

“Argh!”

Crying out in pain, Oladu swung his long spear, trying to knock the tail spike away.

Seeing this, Long Ming violently whipped his tail.

Oladu was sent flying, crashing into a building in the distance.

The entire building came crashing down.

At that moment, a dense rain of energy beams and bullets pelted Long Ming, exploding on impact.

Long Ming turned his head.

He saw Yin Sang and his men surrounding him, unleashing a furious barrage of fire.

Long Ming opened his mouth, gathering a torrent of violent energy, and unleashed a sweeping blast at them.

RUMBLE!

“Aaargh—”

Yin Sang and his men were all engulfed in the explosion.

Just then, Oladu struggled to his feet in his damaged Shadowstalker.

When he saw that Yin Sang and all his men had been wiped out, he completely lost it.

“You bastard! I’ll kill you!”

Oladu immediately released his mech’s limiters, maximizing its power output. Its entire frame began to roar.

He then charged furiously at Long Ming, his spear creating a sonic boom as he thrust it forward with deadly precision.

“Sonic Thrust!”

Long Ming’s pupils constricted. He crouched low and then burst forward to meet the charge.

In that instant, the long spear shot past Long Ming.

Long Ming swung his sharp blade in a horizontal slash.

SLICE!

Oladu was instantly sliced in half at the waist, blood spraying everywhere.

“I…”

Oladu coughed up blood. Before he could finish his sentence, he dissolved into white light and vanished.

Long Ming raised his wristband and collected the wrecked Shadowstalker.

Just then, he felt a surge of extreme danger. A brilliant beam of light shot toward him from a distance.

Long Ming instantly leaped aside.

BOOM!

The massive explosion sent him flying.

Long Ming scrambled to his feet, looking up in a daze.

He saw Fumira descending in his Hunter, accompanied by Fiercewing and four Destroyer mechs.

“Damn it, so you’re the one killing my men. You’ve got a death wish. Spit out the Mechanical God right now, and I might leave you an intact corpse.”

Fumira had arrived a step too late, forced to watch as Long Ming killed Oladu and took the Shadowstalker.

Long Ming looked at the bellowing Fumira, raised his left hand, and gave him the middle finger.

His gesture was like lighting a powder keg, instantly and completely enraging Fumira.

“You piece of shit!”

Fumira’s eyes became bloodshot as he charged straight at Long Ming.

Long Ming had no intention of fighting Fumira. He turned and ran. He couldn’t fly, but he was incredibly fast on his feet.

“Where do you think you’re going?!”

Fumira and his men all activated their jet wings, soaring into the air. They aimed their Shoulder Cannons and unleashed a furious barrage at Long Ming.

Beam after beam of light shot toward him.

Long Ming immediately dashed toward a dense cluster of buildings, using the urban terrain to evade the attacks.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Building after building was pierced and brought down.

“Dammit! Let’s see you run now! Fire at will! Kill him!”

Fumira led Nodding and the others in a high-speed pursuit, wildly firing at Long Ming.

Long Ming ran for his life, but he was still hit by a beam.

A violent explosion sent him flying.

“We hit him!” Nodding shouted excitedly.

“Good work!”

Fumira had barely finished praising Nodding when Long Ming, resilient as a cockroach, scrambled back up and continued running toward the edge of the city.

“Damn it, get him!”

Fumira was about to lose his mind with rage.

Just as Fumira and his men were frantically chasing Long Ming, the entire ground suddenly began to shake violently.

Long Ming was also confused.

‘What’s going on? Don’t tell me the island is sinking?’

At that moment, a panicked voice crackled over Fumira’s comm channel.

“Sir, we have a problem!”

“What is it?” Fumira asked, annoyed.

“Massive numbers of Sea Beasts are climbing out of the ocean and charging into the city!” a subordinate reported in a panic.

Fumira was startled by the report. He looked up in disbelief toward the city’s outskirts.

He saw a twelve-meter-tall, octopus-like creature covered in red pustules. It had six red eyes and massive tentacles. It was a Type-III Mutant Sea Beast—a Tiradon—and it was leading countless other red Sea Beasts into the city.

“Dammit! Everyone, fall back to the central plaza! Immediately!”

Fumira’s expression soured. A lot of the loot he’d gathered was piled up in that plaza.

“Yes, sir!”

His subordinates all followed Fumira, retreating toward the plaza.

Long Ming was wondering why Fumira had stopped the pursuit when, a moment later, he saw the crimson Sea Beasts swarming ahead.

There were all sorts of sea monsters in the horde, but the most numerous was a creature with the head of a lizard, the body of a fish, and four limbs.

Seeing this, he immediately bolted for the periphery.
