Chapter 387: Sneak Attack

When countless Sea Beasts charged, Long Ming unleashed his Power in an instant, and a terrifying, dark red, sanguine aura spread out from him.

The swarms of Sea Beasts fearfully avoided Long Ming, continuing their advance.

Watching the Sea Beasts give him a wide berth, a brilliant smile spread across Long Ming’s face.

‘This ability from Hilic is practically a game-breaker. It’s just too damn useful.’

「Central Plaza.」

Fumira and his subordinates had fallen back.

He gazed at the mountain of goods and immediately issued an order to everyone.

“Quick! Stuff all the valuables into the safes and backpacks!”

“Yes, sir!”

His subordinates sprang into action.

But there was simply too much stuff; it was impossible to pack it all.

Just then, a dark, dense tide of monsters rushed toward them from the distance.

Nodding hurriedly said to Fumira.

“Sir, the monster tide is here! We should break through. We can’t possibly take all of this!”

“No! Everyone, prepare for battle! Take down these damn Sea Beasts for me!”

Fumira declared ruthlessly, his eyes fixed on the vast pile of loot.

“Yes, sir!”

Seeing that Fumira was determined to fight, Nodding and the others could only obey.

They quickly fell into formation.

Nodding and his comrades piloted their Mechanical Gods, meeting the Sea Beasts head-on.

The weapons in their hands cut through the beasts like they were chopping vegetables, cleaving a Sea Beast in two with each strike.

Meanwhile, the other subordinates in their second-generation exoskeleton armor unleashed a furious barrage of fire on the Sea Beasts from a distance.

BANG! BANG!

The advance of the mighty monster tide was instantly halted.

Fumira, piloting the Hunter, charged the leader of the pack: a Type III mutated Sea Beast, Tiraton.

Tiraton’s numerous scarlet eyes locked onto Fumira. Then, its red tentacles split open and fired dazzling beams of light at him.

With lightning-fast reflexes, Fumira piloted the Hunter to precisely dodge the beams.

Tiraton immediately sent its other tentacles sweeping toward Fumira.

“Garbage!”

Fumira brandished two Particle Light Blades, severing the incoming tentacles one after another.

Long Ming was somewhat surprised as he watched Fumira fight. ‘Looks like this guy isn’t all talk. His combat skills are actually pretty impressive.’

However, a slight smirk played on Long Ming’s lips as his gaze fell upon Nodding and his men.

He stealthily blended into the swarm of Sea Beasts and began to creep toward Nodding.

‘If I can take out these Third Generation Mechanical Gods before Fumira finishes off that lead Sea Beast, then I might actually have a shot at fighting him.’

‘That guy’s piloting a Fourth Generation Mechanical God. Even a standard-issue one is worth a fortune.’

At this thought, Long Ming grew even more excited.

Just then, Nodding, piloting his custom Third Generation Mechanical God, the Fiery Wing, aimed its Shoulder Cannons at the swarm and fired.

A massive explosion engulfed swaths of Sea Beasts.

“ROAR!”

At that moment, a manatee-shaped Sea Beast, over four meters tall, furiously charged at him.

“You’re courting death!”

Nodding swung his Metal Blade in a vicious arc, cleaving the Sea Beast before him in two.

But as he sliced through the beast, he came face to face with the demonic form of Long Ming.

‘Crap!’

The color drained from Nodding’s face.

Long Ming swung a sharp blade, slashing straight at Nodding.

At the last possible moment, Nodding activated his Energy Barrier.

CRACK!

The entire Energy Barrier shattered violently.

Nodding immediately raised his blade to parry, and the two weapons clashed.

The immense Power instantly forced the Fiery Wing Mechanical God down to one knee, its metal joints groaning under the strain.

He looked as if he’d seen a ghost. ‘What kind of mechanical armor is this guy wearing? How can its Power be so immense?’

But Long Ming gave Nodding no chance to recover. A sharp claw tore toward the mecha’s chest.

“No!”

Nodding screamed in terror.

But it was too late. The sharp claw pierced straight through the cockpit.

After finishing off Nodding, Long Ming immediately charged the nearest Destroyer-class mecha.

The pilot of that Destroyer, still unaware of the danger, was busy desperately slashing at the oncoming Sea Beasts with their Metal Blade.

Long Ming rapidly circled around behind it, then lunged forward in a surprise attack, bringing his sharp blade down on the back of its neck.

CRUNCH!

The mecha’s head toppled to the ground. The pilot died instantly, a look of bewilderment frozen on their face.

‘Three more to go.’

Suppressing his excitement, Long Ming stowed away the Fiery Wing and charged toward another Destroyer.

「Meanwhile.」

Piloting the Hunter, Fumira flew circles around Tiraton at high speed, blasting its enormous body with a cannon shot.

BOOM!

A massive explosion erupted.

A massive crater was blasted into Tiraton’s body, exposing the red bio-tissue within. It let out a pained roar and whipped its tentacles toward Fumira.

Fumira raised the Particle Light Blade in his left hand, sliced through an incoming tentacle, then closed the distance to Tiraton and brought his blade down upon it, dragging it fiercely downwards.

CRUNCH!

Tiraton’s massive body was sliced a third of the way through.

Fumira aimed his Shoulder Cannons again, charging them to full Power as he targeted the deep gash.

FWOOSH!

A beam of light shot into Tiraton’s body.

BOOM!

Accompanied by a tremendous explosion.

Tiraton let out a final, unwilling shriek as it collapsed heavily to the ground.

Dark green blood pooled out from its corpse.

As Fumira stared at Tiraton’s corpse, feeling quite pleased with himself, a blood-curdling scream suddenly erupted over the comms channel.

“Ah!”

Fumira’s heart skipped a beat, and he whipped his head around to look.

He saw Long Ming plunging a blade into the chest of the last Destroyer-class mecha.

“Damn it!”

Fumira exploded with rage.

‘That bastard actually used the opportunity while I was fighting Tiraton to ambush my subordinates.’

But it was too late. Nodding and all the others had been eliminated.

His eyes bloodshot, Fumira charged straight at Long Ming.

Long Ming instinctively sensed the danger and spun around to face the oncoming Fumira.

Fumira brought a vicious slash down on Long Ming.

Long Ming raised his sharp blade to block.

The two blades clashed.

CLANG!

A terrifying shockwave swept outward.

Long Ming only slid back a single meter before steadying himself.

Fumira was stunned, his expression turning ugly. ‘His Power can actually match mine?’

He immediately swung his other Particle Light Blade at Long Ming.

Long Ming raised his left claw, catching the Light Blade bare-handed, and opened his mouth to gather a violent surge of energy.

‘Not good!’

Fumira immediately activated his thruster wings to force a retreat.

BZZZT!

Long Ming fired a dark red beam at Fumira.

Fumira had no choice but to activate his Energy Barrier.

The dark red beam slammed into the Energy Barrier, sending particles scattering everywhere. The barrier’s integrity plummeted.

Long Ming then stomped the ground and shot toward Fumira, bringing his sharp blade down on the faltering Energy Barrier.

CRACK!

The entire Energy Barrier shattered.

“You’re courting death!”

Reacting with incredible speed, Fumira swung a Particle Light Blade and struck Long Ming square in the chest.

WHOOSH!

Long Ming was sent flying, crashing through a building behind him and causing it to collapse.

“Die!”

Fumira immediately seized the opportunity. He aimed his Shoulder Cannons, rapidly gathered energy, and fired a dazzling beam toward Long Ming.

BOOM!
