Chapter 383: Chapter 383: Paradise Island

"What’s the use of saying all that? No one would understand."

Gu Fei said, mocking himself.

Long Ming fell silent for a few seconds. He took some blue and purple-grade items from his safe, placed them in front of Gu Fei, and then turned to leave.

Gu Fei was startled when he saw the items on the ground. He quickly stood up and shouted to Long Ming, who was walking away.

"Wait."

Long Ming stopped and turned to look at Gu Fei, somewhat confused.

’This Gu Fei doesn’t seem like the kind of person to be overly proud. He shouldn’t refuse this.’

"This is for you!"

Gu Fei ran over, pulled a poster from the sole of his shoe, and handed it to Long Ming.

Long Ming was taken aback for a moment, then accepted it.

"Thanks!"

After giving the poster to Long Ming, Gu Fei bowed. He then turned, ran back to pick up the items on the ground, and left.

Puzzled, Long Ming unfolded the poster.

On it was an image of a giant city on an island, labeled "Paradise Island, The Last Habitation."

Long Ming turned the poster over and saw a simple nautical chart printed on the back.

Seeing this, he finally understood why Seaport City was so poor. It turned out everyone had migrated to the last habitation.

"This is a problem."

Long Ming muttered in frustration.

He hadn’t brought the Gale this time, and his Blade Blood Demon armor had no flight function, so he couldn’t fly there directly.

Long Ming immediately began searching for a boat along the coastline.

Just then, a black figure began lurking in the distant sea, silently following Long Ming.

「Several hours later.」

Long Ming’s expression was darker than charcoal. He had searched a huge stretch of the coastline but hadn’t found a single boat.

’If I’m not mistaken, they must have been taken by the others.’

’None of these scavengers are pushovers, that’s for sure. Now I’ve hit a dead end.’

Just then, the crimson tide suddenly began to rise, and the scarlet seawater washed over Long Ming’s feet.

A prompt immediately appeared in his vision.

"Warning: Unidentified contaminant detected."

Long Ming was a little surprised by the prompt.

Suddenly, a whistling sound ripped through the air.

Long Ming whipped his head around.

A twelve-meter-long sea serpent, its body covered in black scales and its head sporting a single horn, opened its gaping maw and lunged at him.

Seeing the sea serpent, Long Ming’s eyes suddenly lit up and he leaped into the air.

The sea serpent lunged at empty air.

Long Ming landed with one foot on the sea serpent’s head.

THUD—

The sea serpent’s head and body slammed heavily onto the beach.

Just as it began to struggle frantically to get up,

Long Ming’s expression turned cold.

A terrifying, dark-red aura of bloodlust instantly burst forth.

Like a startled bird, the sea serpent immediately stopped struggling and lay fearfully on the beach.

Seeing the sea serpent’s reaction, a faint smile appeared on Long Ming’s face.

’Sure enough, Hilic’s ability has a naturally strong suppressive effect on low-level monsters.’

’This monster talent is just too useful.’

"Get up!"

Long Ming commanded the sea serpent.

The terrified sea serpent slowly rose. Long Ming held the poster in front of its eyes and tried giving it a command.

"Take me to this place!"

"HSSS~"

The sea serpent let out a strange cry, then turned and swam toward the open sea.

Soon, the sea serpent was carrying Long Ming out to sea, swimming swiftly into the distance.

"It actually worked!"

Seeing that it was successful, Long Ming broke into a smile.

Meanwhile, far out at sea, the short Yin Mu and a few of his companions sat in a simple boat, rowing with all their might.

"Boss, this dungeon is so barren, and you still paid that guy such a huge tribute. Aren’t we going to end up losing big time?"

"What do you guys know? That Fumira is arrogant and incredibly petty. If we don’t suck up to him and accidentally offend him, we’re finished. We might as well just pack it in and go back to being beggars."

Yin Mu retorted irritably.

Just then, a roar echoed from behind them.

"A monster?"

Yin Mu and his men were startled and immediately whipped their heads around to look.

What they saw was someone standing on the head of a sea serpent, riding it as it rushed past them at high speed.

"Holy shit, you can do that?"

"That’s not fair! Isn’t that basically cheating?"

...

Yin Mu and the others were completely dumbfounded.

Long Ming, holding the serpent’s horn with one hand, shot them a sidelong glance but didn’t stop to cause them any trouble.

「Over an hour later.」

Long Ming noticed fog beginning to form over the sea, drastically reducing visibility. He started to worry.

He wasn’t afraid of the sea serpent turning on him; after all, this kind of monster didn’t possess much intelligence and operated more on instinct.

He was just worried that the creature would get lost. If he ended up lost at sea, he would be in real trouble.

「Two hours later.」

The blurry outline of an island appeared through the fog.

"We’re here!"

Long Ming’s face lit up with delight.

’Without this sea serpent, it wouldn’t have been so easy to find this place, even with a nautical chart and a boat.’

Soon, the sea serpent reached the edge of the island, where all sorts of boats were moored.

Long Ming promptly jumped off, then turned to give the sea serpent a command.

"Wait for me here."

"HSSS~"

The sea serpent let out a sound of fear, then submerged beneath the waves.

Long Ming then began to cautiously move forward, starting to explore the island.

The entire island was shrouded in a white fog, with visibility of only about twenty meters, making exploration rather difficult.

However, it wasn’t long before Long Ming spotted a lighthouse up ahead.

He immediately headed toward it.

Long Ming reached the base of the lighthouse and climbed the spiral iron staircase.

But when he got to the top, he discovered there was nothing there.

Long Ming jumped down from the lighthouse and continued exploring deeper into the island.

As he went, he saw a few small, scattered houses.

Long Ming went inside to search them.

Unfortunately, he still couldn’t find anything valuable.

Long Ming’s brow furrowed. ’How can a Tier-3 civilization be this poor? It’s simply unbelievable.’

Just then, he suddenly sensed danger and instinctively looked up into the distance.

ZAP! ZAP!

Streaks of light shot toward him.

Long Ming charged straight forward.

Some of the beams struck his body and scattered, dealing no damage whatsoever.

"Damn, what kind of gear is that guy wearing? Isn’t it Second Generation Mechanical Armor?"

"I don’t know! The Light Beam Gun has no effect!"

"What the hell is going on?"

...

The players holding Light Beam Guns immediately began to panic.

Unfortunately, before they could figure out what was happening, Long Ming appeared before them like a vicious demon.

"Brother, we can talk about this."

the man in the lead said in terror.

But Long Ming wasn’t interested in talking. He simply swung his sharp blade in a sweeping motion.

"Aaargh!"

Accompanied by a series of agonized screams, all of the players fell.

Long Ming crouched down to loot the equipment and backpacks they had dropped, and he ended up finding quite a few valuable items.

Just then, his eyes lit up. ’Since I can’t find enough to "eat," I might as well just kill the players here. Devouring them should fill me up. Besides, they’d do the same to me.’

With that thought, Long Ming began to move swiftly through the fog.
