Fuck!!!! I'm Having The Alpha Princess's Baby.
Chapter 453: Faye Confronts Kiara
Faye entered the Petrova library and walked straight to the counter, where Kiara’s mother was standing. She had come with a particular person in mind, and she had no intention of wasting her time looking around the building.
"Good day, Mrs. Petro," Faye said with a polite smile.
Mrs. Petro, wearing her glasses, looked down at the Omega girl. Her expression immediately grew suspicious. She genuinely wondered what on earth had brought Faye back to her library.
"Good day, Ms. Grande. I thought I banned you from my library?"
"According to the public laws and regulations of this land, this library belongs to the people, not just the Petrova family. As a citizen of this land, I have every single right to use this library, and I have not broken any rules or regulations. So, on what grounds do you have the right to ban me from a public place without a valid reason? You cannot simply deny me access without a reasonable explanation."
Faye maintained her polite expression throughout her argument, but there was nothing innocent about the way she looked at the woman. She knew Mrs. Petro would not welcome her presence, yet that was hardly enough reason to turn around and leave.
If the woman wanted to challenge her, Faye was perfectly willing to remind her of the laws, they set.
"Well, look at that. Someone is actually taking their studies seriously for once." She gave a mock, cold smile before adding, "But you’re not a true citizen, are you? You’re just a half-breed. Your mother wasn’t even an Oaklander."
"But my father is, and I was born right here. That still makes me a citizen, doesn’t it?"
Mrs. Petro’s attempt to put her down only made Faye’s smile disappear. She had heard enough comments about her background to know when someone was deliberately trying to provoke her. Still, she wasn’t there to argue about her mother or waste precious time defending her identity.
"What do you actually want here, Faye Grande?"
"I am looking for Kiara. Where is she?"
The woman’s expression changed immediately. Her daughter was the last person she wanted Faye to approach, especially after everything that had happened between Kiara and Princess.
"What do you want with my daughter right now? You already snatched her girlfriend away from her. What more do you want from that poor girl?"
Faye just kept glaring at the woman behind the counter without speaking. Now she completely understood who Kiara had taken after in personality. The same unpleasant attitude, the same willingness to blame everyone else, and the same frustrating habit of acting as though she had done nothing wrong.
What a frustrating family!
"FYI, Princess was mine before anyone else came along. I only snatched back what originally belonged to me. So, Mrs. Petro, tell me where that daughter of a bitch is hiding."
Faye didn’t even wait to see her furious reaction. She instantly focused her sharp wolf hearing and traced the distinct sound of Kiara’s heartbeat through the building. The sound led her deeper into the library, away from the counter and the rows of books closest to the entrance.
Mrs. Petro stepped out from behind the counter and hurried after her, frantically trying to stop her from doing whatever she had come to do to her daughter.
Kiara was at the far end of the huge library, standing high up on a tall wooden ladder and busy searching through dusty books. She appeared completely absorbed in her research, unaware that someone had come specifically to find her.
Faye paused at the bottom and looked straight up at her.
"Hey, Kiara. Wassup? Do me a quick favor and come down here like a good girl?" Faye said in a friendly tone before turning around to look sharply at Mrs. Petro.
Kiara looked down from the ladder at the Omega, then at her mother standing nearby. She wondered why her mother was following Faye so closely, but she decided not to bother asking about it. Whatever disagreement the two had, it wasn’t her immediate concern. She began climbing down step by step, carefully placing her feet on each rung.
However, she hadn’t even fully reached the floor when...
Slap! Slap!
Two loud, heavy slaps landed right on the same side of her face.
Kiara’s head jerked to the side, and she instinctively brought a hand to her cheek. The sudden attack left her stunned for a moment, while Mrs. Petro immediately rushed forward.
"How dare you hit my daughter!" Mrs. Petro tried to intervene right away, but Faye shot her a cold, deadly warning look.
"If you step anywhere close to me right now, I swear to the Goddess, you will get hit hard too."
The threat stopped Mrs. Petro in her tracks. She clearly wanted to defend her daughter, but Faye’s expression warned her not to test her patience.
"Mommy, it’s totally okay. That is how she greets people.. Just return to your post at the counter. I’ll deal with this myself."
"Kiara..."
"Mom, just go." Kiara silenced her mother before grabbing Faye’s arm and dragging her away from the scene.
They went and sat down in a private quiet corner.
Kiara sat down on a chair, but Faye remained standing on her feet. She was in no mood to sit down comfortably. Her anger had not disappeared simply because Kiara had moved them somewhere private.
"So, what’s the exact reason you just slapped me like that? Was it for ripping your neck open yesterday or dumping your Beta this morning?" Kiara asked, touching her reddened face.
"That poor girl fucking loves you so much, and you just dumped her like she’s some cheap piece of trash..."
"Come on now. If she weren’t your Beta, you wouldn’t give a fuck about her situation at all."
"She is my Beta, and I give a fuck about her! Her being my Beta made me realize just how much she fucking cares about you every single day. Look at all the crazy things she does for you just to satisfy your weird, fetishistic desires."
Kiara listened without showing much reaction. Faye’s anger was obvious, but the girl sitting across from her seemed determined not to let the confrontation distract her from whatever was on her mind.
"Trust me on this, Faye. Letting her go was the best thing I could ever do for her."
"I swear to God, if you tell me to trust you one more time, you’re getting punched and beaten up right on this floor!"
"Faye, I’m very busy today. I need to do some heavy research on the thing your brother sent me to work on, so just go find a way to pacify your heartbroken Beta."
Faye really, really wanted to beat the absolute shit out of the girl right then, but she forcefully controlled her rage.
So, she sat down across from her and waited for a full minute to pass.
"Why did you actually break up with her like that? Wasn’t it supposed to last a full year, according to that contract you two made together?"
"A year or today, what difference does it really make in the end? I hate people who fall in love with me without having a single reason for why they actually love me. Besides, they’re always much better off with someone else."
"What makes you think so?"
"Princess is a perfect example. She’s so much better off with you.... And Beam has become a totally different, better person with Tisha. I’m completely sure Bambi will find someone who makes her a better person too, and that person is not me."
"You are such a weird, broken person."
"Whatever you say..."
Kiara looked up from her books and suddenly noticed something very different happening to Faye.
Something was visibly changing in the shade of her brown hair...
