Chapter 446: Kiara’s Arc: Not Kiara’s Domain

  • Next Chapter

Everything was normal now. Faye wasn’t bleeding anymore. It was like nothing had happened to her. She was perfectly fine, her clothes weren’t bloody, the playground had no sign of blood, and even Kiara’s hand had no trace of Faye’s blood.

But Faye still had the experience of someone digging their evil sharp nails into her neck, leaving her to bleed. She could even still feel their hand inside her chest, close to her beating heart. Her throat throbbed with a phantom tightness, making her collar feel far too small as her stomach churned.

They were still inside the playground, inside Kiara’s mind. It was dark because the reason for the brightness was sitting on the ground right in front of them, staring at them. Shadows stretched unnaturally over the motionless swings and slides, leaving the ground pitch black.

All Faye could see was a yellow-orange-looking figure. She had been staring at him for quite a while when Kiara, who was sitting beside her, casually placed her arm on Faye’s shoulder.

"You might get burned if you keep looking at him like that..."

Faye slowly turned to look at the smirking girl. Her expression was now filled with intense hatred for Kiara. Her teeth ground together so hard her jaw ached, and her breath rattled in her lungs.

Yes, Faye didn’t like Kiara because of her cringiness and the fact that she was Princess’s ex, but after what Kiara had done to her, Faye’s hatred for Kiara was worse. Worse than the hatred she would ever feel for an Alpha, even if Kiara wasn’t one.

Faye hated her with every fiber of her being. She just couldn’t wait to get out of wherever she was and deal with the bitch. Every muscle in her body twitched with the urge to break something, her hands curling into hard fists at her sides.

"Bitch, get your fucking hand off me right now..." Faye sneered.

"Or what? What if I don’t? You know you cannot harm me in here. I rule this place..." Kiara gave a dry laugh, leaning her full weight sideways without moving an inch back.

"You are at the top of my punch list. I am going to fucking punch you a thousand times once we get out of here," Faye threatened.

"Ohhhh, I am scared, Faye. I don’t want to be punched by your powerful fist... FYI, I don’t think we are getting out of here..."

"What do you mean by that, you bitch? I’d rather die than spend eternity inside your psychotic brain, you psychopath..." Faye jerked her shoulder violently away, but her back hit the fake air with a dull thud.

"Oh, please, Faye. You don’t know what a psychopath is..."

"I know. I am staring at one right now, you stupid bitch..."

"Do you want an apology? If yes, you are not getting any, because you never apologized for leaving Oakland and you tossed me into a pool, so let’s call it even..."

"I should have punched the shit out of you before throwing you into that pool... You vile vixen..."

"Shhhh, Faye. Let’s hear the Demon guy talk. This is why we are here in the first place..."

Kiara turned to look at the sunny demon, while Faye kept staring at Kiara like she wanted to punch the shit out of her, break her bones or rip her apart, even bite her manicure fingers. Even if she wanted to, she couldn’t. Faye’s fingers dug into her palms until her knuckles turned pale, her pulse hammering against her ears.

All she had to do was be patient and wait for this nightmare to end and when she is out, Kiara is getting some for sure....

"Seriously, this is not some staring competition..." Kiara muttered lazily.

Faye forced herself to look at the sunny guy and realized that he had been staring at her too.

The glowing silhouette sat perfectly still, his burning outline casting sharp, flickering edges across the dark dirt. His gaze felt heavy, like a physical pressure settling straight down onto Faye’s chest, making it hard for her to swallow.

"See, everyone just keeps staring and staring... This is getting boring now. Can we just make the deal, Mr. D?" Kiara said.

The Sun looked at her, his eyebrows furrowed like some angry bird. He wasn’t really pleased with Kiara. The harsh light around his face flickered violently, sending small sparks off into the dark air.

"This is my domain, you know. You can’t really do anything but talk..." Kiara said, smiling at the demon. She crossed her legs on the ground, resting her chin on her palm without a care in the world.

"Your domain, you say..."

Then he made a crooked, wide grin at the brunette. His bright yellow teeth shone through the heat, stretching unnaturally far across his glowing head.

"Are you sure this is your domain?"

He tilted his head like some joker.

"Kiara, Kiara... Did your elders not really inform you about who I am? Looks like all those late-night studies did not give you enough information about me. Bye-bye..."

Then he snapped his fingers, and Kiara disappeared.

The sound echoed like a sudden whip crack in the dark space. Where Kiara had been sitting a second ago, there was nothing left except empty, frozen ground.

Faye’s face turned into horror. She stood up immediately from the ground, looking at the spot where Kiara had been.

Her knees shook under her weight, her balance slipping as her eyes darted frantically across the flat, dark dirt. The air suddenly felt ten times hotter, making unknown sweat break out instantly across her forehead.

"Don’t worry, Luna... I gave her a timeout. It’s just me and you now..." he said with a wide smile.

He slowly rose to his feet, the bright golden light stretching upward until his glowing frame towered right over her, casting a massive shadow that completely swallowed the empty playground behind her. Faye took a swift step back, her heels scraping through the dirt as her throat tightened up completely.
