Chapter 327: Chapter 41: A History-Making Conception (Part 2)

The apprentices had already seen the former, so it wasn’t anything new.

The second display, however, was rather astonishing. With every spray from the Magic Pen, dozens of Secret Spirit Texts landed on the paper, an absurdly high level of efficiency.

The apprentices couldn’t help but glance over repeatedly, and even Lola’s gaze drifted in his direction more than once.

"Everyone, that concludes today’s lecture on the Qi’e Magic Pattern Group, one of the three great Spiritual Magic Pattern Groups."

"I look forward to seeing you all again in our next class to continue exploring the Mysteries of the second Spiritual Magic Pattern Group."

Before dismissing the class, Lola cast out a "hook," as she usually did, to reel the apprentices in for the next session.

"You may all submit a list of questions for the next class, and I will answer them in detail. However, due to limited time and energy, I can only accept two questions per person."

Her next words drew a few chuckles from the crowd.

"Of course, I will only be answering one of Mr. Mo Ning’s questions. His are sure to be difficult, and I’d rather not spend hours frowning over them in my apartment."

Mo Ning gave a resigned smile.

He knew, of course, that it was good-natured teasing. More than anything, Lola was complimenting his high level of skill in Magic Pattern Study.

FWOOSH—

Pale flames flared to life, engulfing Lola’s figure.

The apprentices began to gather their belongings, preparing to leave.

A Female Apprentice with features as fine as a painting, whose name was Helen, suddenly strode up to Mo Ning and asked with a smile,

"Mo Ning, could I ask for your help with a few questions about Magic Pattern Study?"

She was quite tall, and despite her gray robe, it was clear she had an exceptionally good figure.

Her curvy figure wasn’t her greatest asset, however. It was the peculiar "softness" she exuded—a feeling difficult to describe in words, but it was there nonetheless.

Helen hastened to add, "Of course, I understand that knowledge is valuable, so I will compensate you accordingly."

Mo Ning glanced at her, and a phrase instantly popped into his head: ’A skilled hunter often appears in the guise of prey.’

Helen’s somewhat humble demeanor gave one the mistaken impression that it wouldn’t take much effort to win her over.

’But who knows what she’s really after?’

Mo Ning shook his head and replied apologetically,

"I’m sorry. Lola’s comments during class gave me a great deal of inspiration. I’m planning to research it thoroughly, so I don’t have the energy to focus on anything else."

A look of profound shock flashed through Helen’s beautiful eyes.

Disbelief was written all over her lovely face. ’I was just rejected... so bluntly?’

Mo Ning quickly gathered his notes and strode toward the Lecture Hall’s exit.

Many of the apprentices had noticed the little incident.

Many of the male apprentices were filled with envy.

After all, Helen’s beauty easily placed her in the top ten percent of all the female apprentices. Who wouldn’t want such a pretty girl to approach them for help? It was an instinct etched into their very genes.

Some of the female apprentices, on the other hand, wore expressions of schadenfreude, seemingly delighted to see Helen get shot down so spectacularly.

Though there weren’t many people in the Lecture Hall, it was still a perfect display of human nature in all its forms.

Helen wasn’t angry, however. She simply stared at Mo Ning’s retreating back, the corners of her lips curling into a slight smile.

She genuinely found the young man to be utterly fascinating.

It wasn’t every day that she encountered a genius so brilliant that even the lecturer sang his praises. Naturally, Helen wanted to test him.

*****

「Great White Birch Forest.」

「Cabin in the Woods.」

Although he had moved into a luxurious residence that was the envy of ordinary apprentices, Mo Ning still spent most of his time in this cabin.

The research environment was better here, and Flower was always ready to provide the most attentive assistance.

Mo Ning was holding *Deep Structure of the Magic Pattern Core*, a book he had spent 320 Black Tower Points to borrow. He had only read a dozen pages or so when he suddenly felt a peculiar sensation.

His mind was still wrapped up in the study of Magic Patterns, so he was a bit disoriented for a moment.

Flower immediately spoke up. "Mr. Mo Ning, the Thunder Shadow Leopard Fang Pendant seems to be exhibiting an abnormal Magic Power fluctuation."

Mo Ning froze for a second before it hit him—the pendant’s transformation was complete.

After his last clash with the remnant will of an Evil God in the dream world, he had relied on the Kara Psychic Badge to resist the corruption. The Black Panther had devoured a small portion of the Evil God’s dissipated power and entered a state of transformation.

He immediately extended a wisp of his Spiritual Power into the Leopard Fang to check the number of uses.

From experience, he knew this was the most direct measure of the fang’s Spirituality.

Sure enough, the number of uses had increased.

Number of Uses: 526.

Before the transformation, it had 437 uses remaining. That was an increase of a full 89 uses.

Perhaps due to some mysterious connection between his Spiritual Power and the Leopard Fang, Mo Ning had a strange intuition—the phantom of the Thunder Shadow Leopard had gained a new, powerful ability.

He activated the pendant without hesitation.

’The number of uses is only increasing, and it will likely continue to grow in the foreseeable future,’ he thought. ’Wasting one use won’t hurt.’

The next moment.

A pitch-black Leopard Shadow leaped out from the pendant.

The Leopard Shadow landed without a sound, turned gracefully, and glanced at Mo Ning.

In that instant.

CRACKLE—

The sound of arcing electricity filled the air.

Bright sparks of electricity flashed in the Leopard Shadow’s eyes, and faint blue tendrils of lightning danced around its four paws, giving it a mysterious and powerful aura.

Flower’s surprised voice rang out. "Mr. Mo Ning, the Magic Power fluctuations from the Leopard Shadow are incredibly strong. The scope of this transformation seems to be immense."

As Mo Ning met the Leopard Shadow’s gaze, something incredible happened.

As if through telepathy, he instantly understood the new ability the fang’s transformation had granted the Leopard Shadow.
