Chapter 332: Chapter 190: A Half-Day Tour of San Francisco

"IPS?" Charlie’s mouth fell open. He stared at Bird in disbelief, as if searching his face for any sign of a lie.

But no matter how hard he looked, he couldn’t find the slightest change in Bird’s expression.

Charlie slumped into his chair, forced to accept the reality. Deep down, he knew Bird wouldn’t lie about something this important, but the truth was just too shocking, too hard to swallow.

’If that Mr. Su is really the boss behind IPS, then even my dad, a top executive at the fund, wouldn’t dare raise his voice in his presence.’

After all, IPS was extremely well-known in the United States. The only ones who could compare were the legendary Blackwater and G4S.

Although his father, Charles, was a top executive at the fund, he was ultimately just a high-level employee. Owning shares in BlackRock... ’Don’t even think about it.’ Those belonged to the major, well-known financial conglomerates. There was no way it would be his turn. At most, he just got some dividends and bonuses.

Compared to a big shot like Mr. Su, there was still a considerable gap. At best, his father, Charles, could only use the BlackRock name to make Su Chen a little wary.

After a while, Charlie seemed to accept this fact and calmed down considerably.

"Bird... what was that problem you mentioned earlier?" Charlie’s voice lacked the confidence it had before.

"That Mr. Su saw right through our scheme. He laid it all out on the table and agreed to sell his Longteng Technology shares and new technology. Mark agreed as well."

Charlie completely ignored the first part of the sentence. His mind was entirely focused on what Bird had said about selling all the Longteng Technology shares.

’As long as we can acquire all of Longteng Technology’s shares, I’ll be able to get a job at BlackRock’s headquarters because of this success.’

’Besides, I won’t even have to deal with that Mr. Su. I just have to sit back and wait for Bird to deliver the results.’

Snapping out of his fantasy, Charlie noticed Bird was still frowning. Confused, he asked, "Isn’t them selling all their shares a good thing? Why are you still frowning?"

"Did you forget about the other tiger staring hungrily at this piece of meat?" Bird sighed internally. ’I just hope that after this is over, this young master stays as far away from me as possible. Talking business with him is exhausting.’

"Uh..." Charlie finally realized. Morgan was also interested in Longteng Technology.

"Then what do we do?" he asked Bird, sounding a bit helpless.

"Call your old man. Explain everything clearly, and don’t forget to mention Mr. Su’s identity," Bird reminded him.

He was afraid that when Charlie’s father, Charles, heard Su Chen was from Huaxia, he would be just as arrogant as Charlie had been. Bird had a pretty good read on the man.

Hearing this, Charlie immediately pulled out his phone and called his executive dad. After rattling on for a while, he ended up handing the phone to Bird.

"My dad wants to talk to you."

Bird felt the urge to give Charlie the middle finger. He had a bad feeling about this.

Sure enough... as soon as he took the phone, Charles on the other end chewed him out. And after the scolding, he told Bird to remain in charge of the matter.

Bird wasn’t having it.

"Mr. Charles, you need to understand, if it comes to negotiations, Morgan will definitely send a top executive. If you really want me to be fully responsible for this, and some irreversible situation arises, I, Bird, will not be held accountable."

Bird’s tone had become much firmer.

Charles fell silent on the other end of the line. For one, he hadn’t expected Bird to speak to him like that. And for another... he agreed with what Bird had said.

This was a deal worth at least several billion US dollars. Even for a huge company like BlackRock, that was a massive sum of money. How could a mid-level manager like Bird possibly be the one to decide?

After a long silence, Charles said he would make arrangements and hung up.

Bird handed the phone back to Charlie, then got up, brushed himself off, and swaggered out of the office, leaving Charlie frozen in place.

......

San Francisco’s Chinatown is the oldest and largest Chinese community in North America.

After seeing Bird and Mark off, Su Chen sat at home for a while before suggesting a trip to Chinatown. After all, the world’s most famous kung fu superstar, Bruce Lee, had gotten his start in Chinatown.

He wanted to see it for himself and experience the charm of Chinatown. In the past, Su Chen had only ever seen bits of information about it on TV or online. It would be a lie to say he wasn’t curious.

When Raymond heard Su Chen wanted to visit Chinatown, he eagerly volunteered to be his guide. But one look at his height and fierce appearance, and Su Chen turned him down without a second thought. He had no desire to be the center of attention everywhere he went.

Left with no choice, Raymond had to settle for the next best thing, insisting that Su Chen take a three-person bodyguard team with him, just in case anything unexpected happened.

Su Chen thought about it and agreed. They could just walk separately.

And so, Su Chen, Chen Fei, and three ordinary-looking elite IPS security guards took two cars and headed straight for Chinatown.

Chinatown is located in downtown San Francisco, a genuinely bustling area.

Su Chen and his group found a nearby parking spot. After parking the cars, he told the three security guards to keep some distance before heading into the heart of Chinatown with Chen Fei.
