Chapter 307: Chapter 180: My World, I’m in Charge

"Are you even any good, you weakling? It’s not too late to just admit defeat!"

"Says who? I just don’t really know how to play yet!"

"Don’t know how to play? It’s been two hours! I think you’re just being a sore loser!"

"Hmph! Don’t think you’re guaranteed to win just because you’ve played longer. This round doesn’t count! Let’s do it over!"

Hearing their conversation, Si Cong and Qin Fen exchanged a look, both seeing the utter confusion on the other’s face, and hurried downstairs.

When they got downstairs, they saw Su Chen and Ye Feng sitting in front of the TV, playing NBA 2K. A glance at the score revealed it was 28 to 5!

Su Chen caught sight of the two of them out of the corner of his eye. With a flicker in his gaze, he stood up, pulled Si Cong down into his seat, and shoved the controller into his hands. "Si Cong, take over for me for a sec. I’m gonna use the restroom. I’ll be right back!"

With that, Su Chen bolted out of the room, disappearing from sight in the blink of an eye.

Sitting in the chair and holding the controller, Si Cong still hadn’t processed what had just happened. He glanced at Ye Feng beside him, then looked in the direction Su Chen had fled. He had already been a bit groggy from just waking up, and now his head was filled with thoughts of ’Who am I? Where am I?!’

Ye Feng, who was next to him, finally reacted. He shouted in the direction Su Chen had gone, "Su Chen, are you that much of a sore loser?!"

To his surprise, Su Chen actually answered him. "Yup! I’m just a sore loser!"

Hearing such a brazenly confident reply, Ye Feng couldn’t help but laugh. He shook his head, set down his controller, and turned to Si Cong and Qin Fen. "If you guys want breakfast, there’s food in the kitchen fridge."

With that, Ye Feng also got up and headed upstairs. He was a bit tired after playing for two hours, and since he had woken up early, he decided to go back to his room to rest.

This left a dumbfounded Si Cong and Qin Fen standing blankly in front of the TV.

Snapping out of it, the two exchanged a look, gathered a bunch of snacks, and picked up the game where Su Chen and Ye Feng had left off.

After all, with Su Chen and Ye Feng having gone to their rooms, the two of them had nothing to do. They figured they might as well play some games to kill time.

They ended up playing for three hours. It wasn’t until almost noon that Su Chen and Ye Feng came downstairs.

The two of them were chatting and laughing as if the morning’s little episode had never happened.

"It’s getting late. What do you all want for lunch?" Ye Feng asked.

Learning from past experience, Si Cong and Qin Fen both turned to Su Chen in silent agreement. It was clear they would eat whatever he chose.

"Roast goose, of course! They say no goose can make it across the Pearl River alive. I want to taste authentic Yangcheng City roast goose for myself. And I want to try the lion-head goose, too!" Su Chen couldn’t help but smack his lips as he spoke.

Not trying roast goose in Yangcheng City would be like going to Wudu and not having hot pot. As a self-proclaimed foodie, there was no way Su Chen was going to miss out.

According to Ye Feng, the roast goose restaurant they were headed to wasn’t far from their place.

At first, Su Chen had expected some time-honored diner or a grand restaurant. But when they arrived, he found it was a simple roadside eatery that looked like it had been there for ages.

"Do you eat here often?" Su Chen asked curiously.

"At least five or six times a week!"

The third-generation rich, like Ye Feng and his friends, weren’t all like the characters on TV who only frequented top-tier, five-star restaurants. In fact, they were often regulars at ordinary roadside stalls.

Take Si Cong, for example. He might be the son of the richest man in the country, but he’s perfectly happy eating egg fried rice from a street vendor.

"Uncle Chen! Any private rooms available?" Ye Feng called out to a busy middle-aged man as soon as he walked into the restaurant.

The middle-aged man, Uncle Chen, saw it was Ye Feng calling him. He smiled and pointed toward the back, gesturing for him to just head on in.

"Alright! The usual, but add four lion-head goose heads. You can take care of the rest!" Ye Feng said, leading Su Chen and the others toward the back.

Uncle Chen glanced over Su Chen and the group, gave a nod, and went back to his work.

The private room was extremely simple, containing just a large, round table. If not for the wall separating it, it would have been no different from the main dining area.

They had been seated for less than two minutes when Uncle Chen entered with a server, carrying two large serving trays.

In a matter of moments, the large round table was covered with seven or eight delicious dishes.

Of course, the stars of the show were the four massive lion-head goose heads and the steaming, fragrant roast goose.

"Go on, see what you think!" Ye Feng gestured with his right hand, inviting Su Chen to have the first bite.

Su Chen didn’t hold back. He picked up his chopsticks and went for one of the lion-head goose heads. It took some effort just to lift it, as it had to weigh at least two or three pounds.

Seeing the large, bulging goose head, Su Chen dove right in with a big bite.

You see, the best part of a lion-head goose is its head. A single bite was full of rich collagen, with a springy, bouncy texture that was incredibly satisfying to chew.

Even Ye Feng and the others, who were no strangers to fine dining, couldn’t help but feel their own appetites stir at the sight of Su Chen’s hearty eating style. They all quickly picked up their chopsticks as well.

Su Chen finally understood why the lion-head goose of Yangcheng City was so famous. It was truly, incredibly delicious.
