From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius
Chapter 466 - 460: Is Nina Sinclair Stupid? She Doesn’t Even Know How to Plagiarize.
Gabriel let out a muffled groan of pain and rubbed his chest. When he looked straight ahead, he could see Ms. Mayfield’s red high heels.
In an instant, Gabriel forgot the pain and scrambled up from the floor.
Only then did he realize what a huge scene this was.
He pointed at the bodyguards behind her. "What’s all this?"
It would have been better if Gabriel had kept his mouth shut. The moment he spoke, Ms. Mayfield exploded.
"We were knocking on your door for four hours, and you were in here sleeping?"
"Huh?"
Gabriel was even more confused.
At the same time, he felt a little wronged. "I just finished filming, so I came back to the hotel to sleep. I didn’t hear anything."
For some reason, he always got stuck with idiot costars. They couldn’t even get three scenes right in one whole night.
It wasted several hours of his time.
After hearing him out, Ms. Mayfield paused, then tossed the tablet in her hand onto the bed and said coldly, "See for yourself."
Gabriel immediately realized something was wrong. The goofy smile vanished, his expression tightened, and he picked up the tablet to log into his Weibo account.
「Ten minutes later—」
"Holy shit, someone’s calling me shameless?"
"Someone’s calling me a plagiarizing dog? A dog? Then I’m their ancestor."
"And some little punk is saying they’ll send me to prison? What the hell is this crap? That’s hilarious."
"What’s with this marketing account, saying I committed suicide?!!"
Gabriel stared at the news online, feeling each report was more ridiculous than the last.
He turned the tablet toward Ms. Mayfield, his face full of indignation. "What’s wrong with these clickbait accounts? Are they sick in the head? Investigate them for me! Send them a lawyer’s letter!"
After a moment’s thought, he said decisively, "Forget it. Just call the police. Tell them they’re slandering and defaming me!"
"If you don’t teach them a lesson, they’ll never learn!"
Ms. Mayfield: "..."
She had imagined all sorts of reactions from Gabriel, but this wasn’t one of them.
But then again, considering Gabriel’s track record over the years, this actually felt completely normal.
Taking a deep breath, Ms. Mayfield said, "I didn’t want you to look at the haters’ comments. Most of those are just paid trolls."
Now Gabriel was puzzled. "Then what did you want me to look at?"
Ms. Mayfield: "..."
She clenched her fists, then took another deep breath.
"I couldn’t reach you earlier, so I didn’t know what you were thinking. Do you want to issue a response?"
Gabriel nodded. "A response? Of course, we’ll respond."
With that, he glanced around the bed again and finally found his phone under the messy blankets.
Seeing Gabriel being so cooperative today, Ms. Mayfield finally breathed a sigh of relief.
So, when she saw Gabriel looking down and typing, she couldn’t help but remind him, "Explain yourself properly online. You have to clear your name of this plagiarism business first, then you can go after Nina Sinclair."
Gabriel kept his head down, nodding as he typed.
"I know."
Ms. Mayfield was quite satisfied to hear that. But when she saw that Gabriel had already put his phone away, a bad feeling crept over her. "What did you post?"
Gabriel didn’t say anything.
Ms. Mayfield had no choice but to check Weibo herself. She opened Gabriel’s profile, saw the status her client had posted thirty seconds ago, and her blood pressure shot through the roof.
"’Plagiarize my ass?’"
This time, Ms. Mayfield didn’t hold back. She poked Gabriel’s forehead, completely exasperated. "Is that something a public figure should be saying? If you didn’t know what to write, you should have let the PR team draft something for you! Delete it now!"
’I never should have given this kid his Weibo account back.’
"I’m not deleting it. I didn’t plagiarize anything in the first place." Gabriel was defiant. "And don’t you think Nina Sinclair is a total idiot? She doesn’t even know how to properly spin an article."
