Flora Fletcher was startled by Nina Sinclair’s absolute certainty.

She glanced over and was shocked to find Nina Sinclair staring at her with vicious eyes.

Instantly, Flora Fletcher froze in place. A chill shot through her; she felt as if she were being targeted by a cold, venomous snake.

Alarm bells blared in Flora Fletcher’s mind. She immediately averted her gaze, her heart pounding with shock.

"Nina Sinclair, if that’s what you think, there’s nothing I can do. I don’t care if you want to dig your own grave, but don’t drag the company down with you."

Having said her piece, Flora Fletcher left immediately.

After Flora Fletcher left, Nina Sinclair finally came back to her senses.

She felt a flash of panic, but her heart quickly calmed.

’This time, Gabriel Sinclair must be destroyed!’

’Were her ambitions really as simple as just wanting Gabriel Sinclair to suffer a setback?’

’However Gabriel Sinclair treated her back then, she would pay him back a hundred, a thousand times over.’

A dark look came over Nina Sinclair’s eyes. She took out her phone, dialed a number, and said slowly, "Hello, I’d like to leak a story..."

——

The moment the story broke, Ms. Mayfield drove with her team to the hotel where Gabriel Sinclair was staying.

It wasn’t until she reached the eighteenth floor that she realized she had forgotten to get a spare key from Gabriel Sinclair.

So, her only option was to knock.

But the group waited outside for a full hour without any sound or movement from within.

There were also numerous paparazzi teams waiting in the hotel; they had spotted several of them lurking downstairs on their way up.

Because of this, they didn’t dare go back down, nor did they dare ask the hotel to bring up a spare key.

They were terrified of giving the press something to write about.

With no other choice, Ms. Mayfield could only wait.

But the wait stretched on for four hours.

Even Ms. Mayfield, who was known for being experienced and unflappable, began to feel a sense of dread.

Seeing this, a bodyguard beside her asked in a low voice, "Ms. Mayfield, maybe we should get the key? Mr. Sinclair’s safety is the top priority."

The online abuse was so overwhelming that it was terrifying even for an outsider like him to witness.

If one person insults you, you can insult them back. But when millions of people are insulting you at once, you can drown in their vitriol.

Ms. Mayfield knew this well.

Although she felt that a coward like Gabriel Sinclair wouldn’t dare do anything extreme, she still had to be prepared for the worst.

"Change your clothes before you go down. And no sunglasses. Don’t let the paparazzi spot you."

"Right."

With that, the bodyguard immediately took off his suit jacket and pulled on a hoodie he’d prepared earlier.

A short while later, the bodyguard returned with the spare key.

Ms. Mayfield glanced behind him and asked, "You weren’t spotted, were you?"

The bodyguard shook his head. "Don’t worry. No one saw me."

This was the hotel with the best security in the province. The staff were discreet and wouldn’t reveal guest information except under special circumstances.

Ms. Mayfield relaxed and inserted the key into the lock.

She didn’t even realize that her own hands were trembling.

She was still terrified that Gabriel Sinclair, unable to cope, might have done something drastic.

However, the moment she and the bodyguards opened the door and stepped inside, her eyes fell on the scene, and the veins on her forehead began to throb with rage.

Ms. Mayfield took a deep breath, her fists clenched tightly.

The bodyguards behind her saw this and instinctively took two steps back.

The next second, Ms. Mayfield’s red high heels went CLICK-CLACK-CLACK as she strode to the bedside. Seeing the man sleeping spread-eagled on the bed, she balled up her fist and brought it crashing down.

"Gabriel Sinclair!"

Gabriel Sinclair jolted awake, his dazed eyes scanning the room.

Finally, his gaze landed on Ms. Mayfield.

He froze for a second, then shot up as if he’d seen a monster, flinging himself out of bed.

But his foot got tangled in the blankets, and he tumbled to the floor with a loud THUD.
