From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius

Chapter 464 - 458: Gabriel Sinclair’s Song Can’t Be Earlier Than Mine

  • Next Chapter

Nina Sinclair couldn’t even write the most basic lyrics, let alone be a singer-songwriter.

Joseph Shaw had spent a fortune buying her all the songs on the album.

When she first got the songs, she couldn’t even read basic sheet music.

’Now her manager actually wanted her to write more new songs? How was that possible?’

Nina Sinclair’s expression flickered, a hint of guilt in her voice. "No... I haven’t had any inspiration lately."

Her manager was a little disappointed to hear that.

But uncharacteristically, she didn’t push Nina Sinclair.

For a singer-songwriter, inspiration was just too important.

So she could only nod. Despite her disappointment, she offered some encouragement. "Well, in that case, just focus on perfecting the songs you already have. The company will fund a concert for you in the second half of the year."

’Now that this whole thing with the lyrics and tune has blown up with Gabriel Sinclair, and we’ve finally managed to get trending, we have to play this right.’

She steeled herself. "I’ve already submitted the application to the company. Barring any surprises, we’ll be heavily promoting you for the next two years. That concert in the latter half of the year is crucial, so you absolutely must perfect the songs you know. As for what’s happening online... just let it go."

She was keenly aware that pushing things too far could cause them to backfire.

’In her opinion, there was no way Gabriel Sinclair plagiarized Nina Sinclair.’

After all, Gabriel Sinclair was a renowned Genius.

’Gabriel Sinclair was just humming in the video. The melodies must have just coincidentally sounded similar.’

Even though she had her doubts, she was convinced it had to be a coincidence.

Her manager’s reply left Nina Sinclair stunned. She shot to her feet, her voice laced with agitation. "Ignore it?"

’She just couldn’t understand why.’

’This was such a perfect opportunity!’

’All they had to do was spend a little money on a smear campaign. Even if Gabriel Sinclair didn’t quit the business over this, he’d still take a major hit from the plagiarism scandal.’

"Flora Fletcher, open your damn eyes and look! This isn’t about two songs sounding similar, this is plagiarism! When he and I were on that show together, I found out someone had been on my computer. Who the hell knows if he’s the one who stole it?"

Enraged, Nina Sinclair had spat out her manager’s full name.

The manager clearly hadn’t expected her words to provoke such a fierce reaction from Nina Sinclair.

She fell silent for a moment, her face darkening. Then, as if a sudden realization struck her, her expression shifted.

"Nina Sinclair, did you plant those hit pieces online?"

When Nina Sinclair didn’t answer, Flora Fletcher understood everything in an instant.

She was trembling with rage. She stared at Nina Sinclair, her mouth opening and closing.

But in her fury, she was rendered speechless.

Nina Sinclair, however, was unfazed. "The entertainment industry is survival of the fittest. Gabriel Sinclair plagiarized first. That’s not a smear campaign; it’s just telling the truth."

"Besides, look at his team. This whole thing has been blowing up for ages, and has his team come out to refute the rumors?"

Nina Sinclair’s confident self-justification left Flora Fletcher speechless with anger.

She shot back, "You think it’s that simple? Do you have any idea how good Gabriel Sinclair’s PR team is? And just because they haven’t issued a statement, you think they’re scared?"

"What else could it be?"

Flora Fletcher felt like she was going to have a stroke. "Are you really this naive, or are you just playing dumb? What if they’re using this time to gather evidence? If the original draft of their song is dated earlier than yours, have you ever considered the wrath of the netizens?"

"At that point, not even God will be able to save you!"

After Flora Fletcher spoke, the entire office fell silent.

Suddenly, Nina Sinclair cried out in agitated denial, "Impossible! There’s no way Gabriel Sinclair’s song came before mine!"
