In the trailer, Gabriel Sinclair only hummed softly. His voice was deep and magnetic, like a stream murmuring through a forest, sending a pleasant tingle through the listener’s ears.

Once Gabriel Sinclair’s Weibo post went live, it garnered over a million comments in less than an hour.

This just went to show how powerful Gabriel Sinclair’s influence was.

Unexpectedly, however, it wasn’t long before people started tagging both Gabriel Sinclair and Nina Sinclair.

Their melodies were practically identical.

Their songs were released less than ten hours apart. Even though Gabriel Sinclair’s team was constantly monitoring the situation, they had somehow overlooked this.

For some reason, the situation escalated rapidly, quickly spiraling out of control.

Nina Sinclair’s team immediately released her full song.

The initial idea and lyrics had been conceived three months prior, but that wasn’t solid enough evidence. The real, timestamped backup was from the day the song was recorded.

Gabriel Sinclair’s fans waited anxiously for two whole hours, but their idol still hadn’t come out to refute the rumors.

The fans who had been patient at first immediately started to panic.

"Gabriel, please come out and shut these rumors down!"

"@Gabriel Sinclair, hurry! Something big is happening on Weibo! Regardless of whether it’s plagiarism or not, you have to come out and say something!"

"Haha, he still hasn’t shown his face after all this time. It’s plagiarism, no doubt about it."

"Bet you didn’t see that coming. Our Nina has proof. Otherwise, with your idol’s massive fanbase, you all would’ve just cyberbullied our Nina again."

"@Gabriel Sinclair, please apologize!"

"Apologize!"

"Plagiarizing a newcomer? You’ve got some nerve, Actor Sinclair."

"Are you all insane? It’s barely been any time. Can’t you give our guy a chance to gather evidence?"

"This is ridiculous. He could’ve plagiarized anyone, but he supposedly chose Nina Sinclair? Don’t forget, Nina Sinclair ranked dead last in her entire department this year. If she fails five more classes next year, she’s going to be expelled."

"As a casual observer, I just listen to his music sometimes, but I have to say he’s an incredibly versatile singer-songwriter. Until the full story comes out, I’m standing with Gabriel Sinclair."

Soon, the hashtags #GabrielSinclairPlagiarism and #NinaSinclairNewAlbum were rocketing up the trending charts.

As a result, even more people began to side with Nina Sinclair.

Nina Sinclair’s agent saw the album sales numbers in the back-end system skyrocketing and was overjoyed.

"This is fantastic! I never expected trending like this would make the album sell so quickly. I’ll have the company push out more promo for you in a bit."

She truly hadn’t expected album sales to multiply tenfold in less than two hours.

The agent finally looked at this artist who’d come out of nowhere with a hint of approval. "Your songwriting talent is this good? Why didn’t you say so from the start? If you had, you wouldn’t have had to take all those detours."

’Once they branded her as the singer-songwriter Nina Sinclair and put the team’s PR machine behind her, she would absolutely blow up.’

’Once her career stabilized, she could spend a year or two transitioning into something else.’

’What a golden opportunity!’

’And yet, Nina Sinclair had kept it all to herself.’

"Even though the second half of ’Confession’ doesn’t quite live up to the first, the reception so far is pretty good. Why don’t you use this momentum to write another song or two?"

’It would be a real shame for someone with this kind of creative talent not to be a singer.’

"If you ask me, you shouldn’t have rushed to find someone to ghostwrite the second half of the song. After all, it’s not like they could have truly understood your vision."

Nina Sinclair froze, a bitter laugh bubbling up inside her.

’If I hadn’t rushed to get the song out, what would I have done if Gabriel Sinclair had released his first?’

’Understand?’

’Understand my ass!’
