Four Split Personalities
Chapter 2921: Right to Choose (Part 3)
Motan raised his right hand and grabbed a black crystal out of thin air, tossing it to the somewhat dazed Dora: “This thing can absorb the power I previously gave you and turn you back to your former self.”
Dora’s body trembled, and she incredulously looked down at the black crystal in her hand, which shimmered with a hazy light.
However, Motan gave her no time to think, instead explaining calmly, “There’s no need to worry about extra matters. It merely retrieves the power I gave you, without affecting your current body, strength, or realms. It can also restore your normal thinking patterns. Remember those unbearable days before? During that time, this power repaired your body completely, so even if it’s retrieved, there will be no side effects, only a return to normalcy for your gradually polluted soul.”
“Why?”
Dora looked at the man in front of her with confusion, frowning: “I thought the reason you saved me was because you wanted me to…”
“That’s right, to become my pawn.”
The lower half of Motan’s face revealed no expression, his voice equally calm and unreal: “But you refused the ‘White Knight,’ didn’t you? So, you have no value to be used.”
Without thinking, Dora instinctively asked, “Then why don’t you kill me?”
“Killing is always a means, not an end. It’s widely used only because it’s a very effective ‘means’.”
Today, Motan seemed particularly patient, even willing to answer such boring questions: “There are too many people without value to be used, and I don’t need to kill every one of them, nor do you deserve such special treatment.”
Dora nodded and fell silent.
Finally, after nearly five minutes, she raised her head again and solemnly asked, “You just said you want to give me the right to choose, right?”
“That’s correct.”
“Then may I ask, besides giving up the power you granted and leaving here, what is my other choice?”
“Fulfill one wish, then lose everything else.”
“Fulfill one wish, then lose everything else?”
“Yes.”
“Sorry, sir, I don’t quite understand…”
“I thought so too.”
Motan nodded noncommittally, then walked slowly to stand before Dora, gently removed his mask, revealing a face identical to that of Motan outside the game and the ‘Hei Fan’ inside the game: “Well, now?”
Thud!
Despite having an inkling of this possibility, at that moment, Dora Hika collapsed to her knees as if detached from strength.
“Black… Black Fan Commander…”
“Unfortunately, although you’ve picked up the longsword again, you’ve forever lost the qualification to be his Guardian Knight.”
“You… are not him…”
“At least not the ‘him’ you hold in your heart.”
“Sir…”
“Choose, Dora Hika, this is your only chance.”
“I wish…”
“I can give you more time to think.”
“No need, sir, this is enough, sir.”
“Draw your sword.”
“Wh…”
“You have twelve hours to break through the [Decree] I’m about to leave and walk out of here alive, only then will you have the qualification to stand before me.”
“What if I can’t walk out of here alive?”
“Posthumous honor.”
“Yes!”
