Four Split Personalities
Chapter 2920: The Right to Choose (Part 2)
“Before the final moment arrives, I still have enough time to make my move.”
In front of the black throne, a hunched figure emerged from the shadows. It was a nondescript old man, but the moment he appeared, the black fog on the chessboard surged several levels faster.
Soon after, a lithe and slender figure appeared near the center. Her face was obscured, standing in confrontation with a man whose face was half-covered by a mask, with a pleasant smile, on the same line.
A decrepit dragon head protruded from the clouds, emitting a silent roar.
A bizarre lullaby drifted erratically, as rows of tombstones paved the ground.
On the other side, behind the Fraud dressed as a poet, a petite figure slowly raised a wand.
Beside the Clergy, light and shadow wove a beautiful silhouette.
A pair of pristine white wings opened slowly and resolutely behind the wings of the Guardian.
The chessboard gradually lost control, beginning to tremble incessantly—
The black wind howled, its core was a lavishly designed Duke’s Emblem.
Endless sands roared, a mottled Riding Spear stood before the black throne.
Furious howls erupted, like the bark of dogs and the cries of eagles, like the wails of wolves and the roars of dragons.
The previously orderly chessboard, in an instant, became a chaotic mess.
Mo’s gaze fell on a slender knight statue, wielding a sword, that had just appeared at the far right side of the chessboard, in front of the Clergy.
He slightly squinted his eyes, pondering the question for which he had long found the answer.
The next instant, the study’s door was gently knocked from the outside, and the chessboard on the table, whose contents were no longer discernible, simultaneously dissipated into nothingness.
“Dora is here. Shall I let her in?”
Ji Xiaodao, who had entered directly after knocking on the door, looked at Mo standing by the table and asked calmly.
She did not close the door but leaned sideways at the entrance, allowing the warmth of the outside sunlight to seep in a bit more.
“No need.”
Mo shook his head and walked slowly toward the door, brushing past Ji Xiaodao as a thin cloud covered the sun, and then glanced at Dora, who was waiting in front of the study: “Go underground.”
“Yes, Sir.”
Dora Hika, with flowing golden hair, slightly pale skin, and dressed in a black Knight Armor, bowed slightly and led the way ahead without any reluctance after saluting Mo.
Ji Xiaodao, having closed the study’s door, naturally followed the two, with Mo walking behind Dora, to which he had no objection.
Thus, the three quickly passed through the [Curtain of Chaos] personally set by Mo and arrived at the underground section beneath the Sin Duke’s Manor, which at this moment was nearly ninety percent developed, fully equipped except for Merlin’s requested workshop.
Following Mo’s guidance, Dora directly led him to the deepest part of the underground section, to the practice ground usually used for her sparring matches with Lady Ji Dao, and occasionally for Mo’s solitary practice, typically accompanied by Lady Ji Dao. Except for that previous instance of power being out of control, today was the first time with both present.
“Silent Prayer.”
Standing at the practice ground entrance, Mo softly called.
“Hmm.”
Ji Xiaodao, while casually lighting torches along the way, absentmindedly responded.
“Wait outside.”
After a brief statement, Mo pushed the door open and entered. Once Dora followed upon his cue, a black Light Wall suddenly appeared in front of Ji Xiaodao, blocking her path to the practice ground.
“This person…”
Usually without much expression, Lady Silent Prayer bit her lip, stamped her foot angrily, and then leaned against the cold stone wall in exasperation, rare for her, pouting and murmured under her breath: “Annoying.”
…
Meanwhile, inside the practice ground
“Sir…”
Standing at the center of the venue, Dora glanced uncomfortably towards the outside and whispered: “Would it be a bit… uh.”
“Would it be a bit what?”
Mo did not ignore her as Dora expected but asked calmly, startling her who didn’t expect an answer.
A bit tense, she instinctively stood at attention. Dora hesitated for two seconds before asking: “Would it be a bit impolite, considering Lady Silent Prayer she…”
“Her feelings are not important.”
Mo coldly interrupted Dora, looking at the female knight in front of him in the custom Sin Immersion Knight Armor of [Lightless War Song], bearing a black Cross Sword: “If Silent Prayer were to leave this place due to reasons like dejection or disappointment, it would be a good thing since she was never necessary.”
Dora, who also felt Lady Silent Prayer did not belong here, was slightly startled, then silently nodded, saying nothing.
“The same goes for you.”
Mo’s sudden remark sent a shiver through Dora.
“Sir…”
“You must admit, Dora Hika Knight, since you came here until now, you’ve been an optional presence, taking up nothing more than a little time and energy of mine and Merlin, with nothing else left.”
“Sir, I…”
“I know, you want to do something, and the reason you’ve achieved nothing is simply that you lacked my orders. So, Dora Hika Knight, I will now give you the right to choose.”
