First Immortal of the Sword
Chapter 3112 - My Fate Is Heavenly Fate, My Heart the Heart of the Heavens
Deep beneath the dome of heaven, the calamitous power was turbulent beyond measure, but it couldn’t block the Threelives Buddha’s seal.
From a distance, it was like an immeasurably brilliant, blazing sun shifting through space. It slammed ruthlessly into Su Yi.
Su Yi was already badly injured, and now, he was empty-handed. He didn’t try to dodge, either, instead blocking this attack head-on.
Within moments, his defensive aura shattered and collapsed. His tall, upright frame broke in numerous places, scattering chunks of flesh and blood. Even his soul was almost ripped to shreds.
The Threelives Buddha’s eyes lit up. His Chan Buddhist heart was as unyielding as a boulder, yet now, it rippled with uncharacteristic, indescribable excitement.
He’d fought Su Yi for so many years that he’d long since lost track, but he’d never come this close to suppressing and killing him.
Su Yi’s body had collapsed and broken, and even his soul was badly injured. He was no different from a beast in a cage, on the brink of death!
Kaboom!
Flesh and blood splattered the air, and countless flaming stars swept forth, plunging Su Yi’s scattered flesh, blood, and soul into a sea of flame.
This was Hong Ling’s strongest attack.
In the blink of an eye, Su Yi’s fragmented flesh and blood burned to ash, and even his soul was covered in startling, charred black burns.
Like a burnt-up piece of rotting wood!
When Hong Ling saw this in the distance, she couldn’t help but feel a bit stunned. It was hard to believe. He really couldn’t block that attack just now?
The part she found most unbelievable was that Su Yi neither tried to dodge nor use any sort of hidden card. He just sat there as if waiting to die, passively enduring the Threelives Buddha’s strongest attack.
The Threelives Buddha realized this, too. He forcefully suppressed his excitement, then transmitted, “Beware the unexpected and don’t get complacent. Quick, use the strongest killer weapon at your disposal to finish him off!”
Hong Ling’s gaze focused, but the Threelives Buddha was already attacking.
Boom!
He had the solemn countenance of a Buddhist statue, but his gaze was utterly cold and murderous. His whole body seemed to burn as he drew upon the full extent of his cultivation base.
He poured all of his strength into that black alms bowl and attacked Su Yi. This was unquestionably the strongest attack he’d unleashed since proving his Dao and becoming a Heavenly Sovereign. It was strong beyond imagination.
Even the churning Laws of Calamity overhead shook and broke.
The alms bowl’s surface reflected an eight-tier pagoda and taboo visions of life and death.
Practically simultaneously, Hong Ling gnashed her teeth and went all out, her graceful figure burning with a vortex of starlight. All of that power gathered in the Mirror of Mysteries in her hand.
Kcch!
A stingingly bright streak of light bore through the darkness, like the first light of a new day shooting out of the Mirror of Mysteries.
Its power was terrifying enough that even the Threelives Buddha couldn’t help but re-evaluate it.
Two supreme Heavenly Sovereigns struck like lightning, each using a rare taboo treasure. Their combined power was enough to shake the entire Realm of Endless Tribulations.
The Mountain of Tribulations swayed, its slopes splitting and collapsing.
Outside the palace on the mountaintop, the Harbingers of Tribulations’ hair stood on end. All of them looked stricken. What’s going on here?
The Monarch of Endless Tribulations was fully focused on treating his wounds, but now, he too stiffened, his expression shifting. Su Yi’s battle with the Threelives Buddha has already reached such intensity? Just how terrifying must their conflict be to shake the entire Realm of Endless Tribulations like this?
Meanwhile, beneath the dome of heaven.
Su Yi’s fleshly body had all but been ground away.
When the black alms bowl hurtled toward him, bringing with it taboo radiance, Su Yi’s already badly wounded soul showed signs of collapse.
Practically simultaneously, the Mirror of Mysteries’ beam of light shot toward him.
If Su Yi’s soul was destroyed, there’d be no coming back from it, even if traces of his presence remained.
Thus, both the Threelives Buddha and Hong Ling looked on with unconcealed excitement and anticipation.
When Su Yi died, reincarnation, the Epoch Spark, the Book of Destiny, the Cauldron of Fate, and the Nine Mysteries of Chaos would become their spoils of war!
To the Threelives Buddha, Su Yi’s death would mark the end of their ancient enmity, too.
But a moment later, Hong Ling and the Threelives Buddha’s eyes widened.
Boom!
How terrifying and taboo was that black alms bowl? But when it slammed into Su Yi’s soul, it was as if it had slammed into an invisible barrier.
It couldn’t advance so much as an inch further.
The same thing happened to the mirror’s beam of light. Something blocked it just beyond Su Yi’s soul!
This... Both the Threelives Buddha and Hong Ling looked stricken.
But before they could grasp the situation, Su Yi’s burnt, battered soul called out, “My fate is my own. I have no need of divine bestowal! Thank you, my enemies, for breaking my barriers and helping me prove my Dao!”
Every word went off like a thunderclap, resounding clearly throughout heaven and earth.
An unbelievable scene followed. The innumerable burns and wounds covering Su Yi’s soul surged with overflowing vitality. It was so dense that it was like the primordial chaos giving rise to creation, the ancestral source of all life, shining with endlessly resplendent brilliance.
The Threelives Buddha and Hong Ling each felt stinging pain in their eyes, and their hearts and souls palpitated with indescribable terror.
The Threelives Buddha suddenly realized what was going on. “That bastard is trying to prove his Dao and break through, here and now!”
Su Yi had never planned to seek a breakthrough in the Daoless Domain. His real goal was to borrow his enemies’ hands to force himself to the brink of death, which he’d then overcome, seizing a breakthrough amidst destruction!
“Die!” The Threelives Buddha was uncharacteristically furious, his face ashen.
What would happen if he let Su Yi break through? Su Yi was already strong enough to contend with Heavenly Sovereigns. If he stepped into the Heavenly Fate Realm, he might well be able to actually kill Heavenly Sovereigns!
Without any hesitation whatsoever, the Threelives Buddha attacked once more, drawing upon every power at his disposal. His force and momentum were even more terrifying than before.
Hong Ling realized that the situation was urgent, so she gnashed her teeth and attacked furiously.
Kaboom!
The dome of heaven was in complete chaos.
But no matter what kinds of divine abilities or supreme attacks they used, they all bounced back harmlessly before they could hit Su Yi’s soul, as if stopped by an invisible barrier. None could draw near.
This only made Su Yi seem all the more invincible!
“My fate is heavenly fate! My heart is the heart of the heavens! All other Daos must shrink back before mine!"
A clanging hum resounded throughout Su Yi’s soul as all manner of unbelievable revelations welled within it.
The Heavenly Fate Realm was the fifth and final realm of Eternity. Those who reached it were known as Heavenly Monarchs.
Those Heavenly Monarchs who possessed Eternal Thrones were known as Heavenly Sovereigns. They were like incarnations of the Eternal Heavens Domain’s Will of Heaven.
Now, Su Yi had used their battle to seize an opportunity to prove his Dao amidst life and death. He’d shattered the barrier blocking his cultivation, rising straight into the Heavenly Fate Realm all on his own!
Was fate bestowed upon him by the heavens? No, his fate was heavenly fate. There was no need for any sort of divine bestowal!
Su Yi could clearly sense that his cultivation base had undergone an earth-shaking transformation, one far beyond any of his past breakthroughs. It was fast, direct, and straightforward, dense, yet vast. He was like a phoenix reborn amidst the flames, or a caterpillar breaking free of its cocoon to become a butterfly.
His broken body silently recondensed. Beads of vitality as innumerable as the grains of sand in the riverbed nourished him, granting him new life!
To the distant Hong Ling and the Threelives Buddha, Su Yi’s wound-riddled soul seemed to have been completely reborn. Its burns sloughed off, and its wounds healed, now brimming with unstoppable life force, like the primordial chaos giving rise to all life.
It was just too dazzling and resplendent, illuminating the very dome of heaven itself with intense, stinging brilliance.
Indescribable fury and bitterness rose in Hong Ling and the Threelives Buddha’s hearts.
“Stop him! Hurry!” roared the Threelives Buddha. He and Hong Ling attacked like mad.
But it was to no avail. An invisible wall of the Grand Dao had formed a barrier around Su Yi’s soul, shielding him from attacks on all sides. There was no shaking it and no crossing it.
Within just a few blinks of an eye, Su Yi’s all but eradicated soul had pieced itself back together.
Within his internal Sea of Chaos, the Epoch Seedling swayed, flowing with a rain of chaos light. The Grand Dao rumbled throughout his entire body, endless vitality rushing through his skin, flesh, blood, organs, meridians, and acupoints...
Everything had transformed, and everything was rejuvenated!
“Why... Why didn’t his breakthrough invite any sort of divine tribulation?” Hong Ling looked on in disbelief, her heart full of astonishment and horror. She couldn’t comprehend what she was seeing.
When others broke through, they always underwent a tribulation, but not Su Yi!
That wasn’t all. He’d been clinging to life by a thread, on the verge of death, only to realize an unbelievable breakthrough and an incomprehensible transformation!
The Threelives Buddha said nothing, but his face was ashen. He’d long since known that Su Yi was different from other cultivators. Su Yi’s path was unlike any other cultivator in history.
Still, when he witnessed Su Yi’s differences with his own eyes, he found them difficult to accept.
He and Hong Ling didn’t let up. Both continued attacking, but they knew that their hopes of killing him were increasingly fleeting.
Their expressions were unsightly, and their Dao Hearts were on the verge of collapsing from sheer frustration.
They’d been preparing this death trap for a long time now, only for Su Yi to seize an opportunity and break through in the end. Who wouldn’t have been frustrated?
Boom!
Firelight flowed over Su Yi’s body, brilliant and resplendent, holy and ethereal. It didn’t seem quite real.
Yet another transformation was taking place, one outsiders couldn’t perceive.
An inscrutable rain of light flowed over the Book of Destiny as all three of its pages were reflected at once!
A mysterious pool was reflected within the third page. It churned with mysterious, colorful nirvanic power as it fused into Su Yi’s rapidly transforming cultivation base.
Xiao Jian had once said that the third page of the Book of Destiny contained a mysterious Nirvanic Pool full of nirvanic power. It was incomparably mystical.
Su Yi had never seen it before, as his cultivation base had been insufficient to open it.
But now, as he realized his newest breakthrough, the third page of the Book of Destiny came into view!
Even Su Yi himself was surprised by this change.
Even more shockingly, the Book of Destiny, the most taboo treasure in all the River of Destiny, seemed frantic with eagerness to shoot into Su Yi’s body and fuse with his powers of the Grand Dao!
But it was then that something Su Yi could never have anticipated happened.
The Sword of the Nine Hells stirred, then blocked the Book of Destiny outside his rapidly transforming cultivation base!
