Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 1334 Father And Daughter Reunion [1]

  • Next Chapter

A moment ago.

Buried beneath the soil, a skeletal head suddenly emerged from the ground. The skeleton looked around for a moment before raising her head toward the dark sky above and sighed mentally.

The skeleton was Isabella.

It had already been more than two weeks since she returned from the Netherworld. For someone like Isabella, who had spent decades wandering through the Netherworld, such a period should have been insignificant, as she had long stopped paying attention to individual days.

Yet now, she found herself feeling that days were longer than weeks, and weeks were longer than months. It was a rather strange experience.

Of course, Isabella couldn't entirely be blamed for feeling this way. After surviving death and somehow retaining her consciousness, she had only possessed a few goals.

Return to Aurora.

Take revenge on those responsible for her death.

And, if possible, find a way to continue living.

Unfortunately, achieving any of those goals was easier said than done for a Rank 2 undead with a problem with her soul that didn't allow her to advance easily.

I wonder when senior will take me out. It's been so long since he last visited.

After bringing her out of the Netherworld, the mysterious senior seemed to have forgotten about her existence. He rarely visited. And even when he did appear, it was usually to retrieve or return the female Demigod ghost to her tree, barely paying her any attention.

Isabella couldn't help feeling a little helpless.

She didn't dare complain. The senior had already done more than enough by bringing her out of the Netherworld. Besides, she understood that someone of his strength probably had countless important matters to attend to. Why would he waste his time accompanying a mere skeleton?

Still, understanding the situation didn't make the waiting any more pleasant. She could only continue to wait, slowly returning to the state of patience she'd had back when she was still in the Netherworld.

However, just as Isabella was preparing to withdraw her head beneath the ground again, a strange fluctuation enveloped her body.

"Hm?"

Before she could understand what was happening, her surroundings suddenly changed.

A moment later, Isabella found herself standing in the middle of a wilderness. Above her was a clear sky. Bright sunlight shone down upon her skeletal body, causing the violet soul flames within her eye sockets to flicker slightly.

For a moment, she was stunned.

Am I in the outside world?

Isabella hurriedly examined her surroundings with her senses. Everything suggested that she had been transported somewhere in the living world. She just didn't know where.

However, she quickly put the matter behind her and greeted the familiar presence nearby.

Beside him was another person. A middle-aged man. She didn't recognize the man at first glance, nor did she think she would. In any case, that wasn't her concern.

What mattered was that the senior had finally summoned her. Perhaps he had remembered his promise. Or perhaps he had some task for her. Either possibility was better than continuing to wait beneath the soil.

"Sir!"

Isabella waited for the senior to explain why he had summoned her.

However, before he could say anything, Isabella's soul trembled. The invisible restriction surrounding her soul seemed to have loosened, and she felt an intense urge for something nearby, which seemed to be the cause of the change.

Isabella instinctively turned toward the source, but before she could even settle her senses on him...

"Bastard!"

BOOM!

A terrifying burst of heat erupted from the unfamiliar man. The sudden attack caught Isabella completely off guard. Before she could properly understand what was happening, the middle-aged man had already lunged toward the mysterious senior, his arm surrounded by terrifying crimson flames.

Then came an equally unexpected response.

BOOM!

The senior threw a punch. The middle-aged man was immediately sent flying, disappearing beyond the distant mountains.

Isabella stood motionless.

"..."

What just happened?

She had only been summoned a few moments ago, yet the two people before her had suddenly started fighting. More importantly, the strength displayed by both individuals was far beyond what she could currently comprehend. Even the residual energy from their brief exchange was enough to make her soul tremble.

Before she could think about it any further, a terrifying pillar of crimson flames erupted from the distant mountains. The flames gathered high in the sky, forming what appeared to be a miniature sun.

And from within that sun came an angry roar.

"MICHAEL, YOU BASTARD!"

Isabella froze.

Michael?

So that was the mysterious senior's name?

Isabella's thoughts couldn't help but wander.

She had never asked for his name before, partly because she didn't dare and partly because she felt it wasn't her place to inquire.

But that wasn't what caught her attention.

It was the voice.

For some reason, the middle-aged man's furious roar sounded strangely familiar. She couldn't immediately remember where she had heard it before, but there was something about his tone that made her feel uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, the situation quickly became even more chaotic.

The middle-aged man launched another attack, forcing the senior to retaliate. Throughout this exchange, Isabella could only watch helplessly. Fortunately, the senior had protected her with his mana, preventing the terrifying heat from directly affecting her skeletal body.

Still, the short series of events left her thoroughly shocked. She had no idea why the two were fighting. Nor could she understand why the senior had suddenly summoned her into the middle of such a confrontation.

However, as she watched the enormous crimson sun expand across the sky, several thoughts gradually began coming together in her mind.

Why had the senior summoned her in the first place?

Isabella was well aware of her own value. Or rather, her lack of value. Although she possessed considerable knowledge, she doubted that someone as powerful as the mysterious senior would find much use for it.

Yet he had suddenly summoned her.

A possibility appeared in Isabella's mind, as she turned to quickly inspect herself.
