Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World
Chapter 1333 Accidental Murder And Misunderstanding [2]
Brian floated at the center of the crimson sun, his body surrounded by flames.
However, what caught Michael's attention wasn't the display of power.
Even from such a distance, Michael could clearly perceive the state of the old man's body. The punch Michael had delivered earlier had nearly killed him. Several bones had been shattered, his internal organs had suffered severe damage, and much of his body had been reduced to a bloody mess.
An ordinary supernatural would probably have died instantly from such injuries.
Yet Brian was recovering at an astonishing speed.
As the crimson flames enveloped him, shattered bones reformed, damaged organs regenerated, and the wounds covering his body rapidly disappeared. The flames didn't burn his damaged flesh. Instead, they gathered around his injuries, growing brighter wherever the damage was most severe.
Within a few breaths, Brian had recovered completely.
Michael watched with widened eyes.
What an impressive recovery ability!
Although the situation still puzzled him, the sight brought him considerable relief. At least he hadn't accidentally killed the old man.
His relief didn't last long.
"MICHAEL, YOU BASTARD!"
Brian's furious roar echoed across the wilderness, causing the crimson sun to tremble violently.
Michael looked up with a slight frown.
The old man's injuries had completely recovered, but his face remained twisted with anger. The flames surrounding him burned even more fiercely, and even from several kilometers away, Michael could feel the murderous intent directed toward him.
Michael opened his mouth, intending to explain himself.
"Teacher Brian, please calm down! I didn't mean to..."
"SHUT UP!"
The flames surrounding Brian suddenly expanded. An enormous wave of heat swept across the sky, and the crimson sun began descending toward Michael.
Michael had already realized that he might have made a serious mistake.
Perhaps he should have explained everything before showing the old man anything.
Unfortunately, it was too late for that. He still had to defend himself!
Also, why is he so strong?!
Although Teacher Brian wasn't powerful enough to threaten him, the energy contained within that miniature sun was already comparable to the power of a formidable Rank 4 supernatural.
But... didn't Teacher Brian only advance to Rank 3 last year?
Michael distinctly remembered that being the case. Even with an exceptionally deep foundation, displaying such power barely a year after advancing was extraordinary.
Of course, Michael himself was hardly qualified to criticize someone else's unreasonable growth.
Still, he couldn't help wondering what Teacher Brian had experienced over the past year.
Michael would have liked to examine his teacher's abilities further, but the descending sun demanded his attention.
Its terrifying heat spread across the wilderness, causing the vegetation beneath it to wither and ignite. The air distorted, and waves of fiery energy swept outward, scorching the ground wherever they passed.
With a thought, Michael extended a layer of mana around Isabella, shielding her from the surrounding heat.
He then raised his hand.
A faint crystalline radiance appeared before his palm, spreading outward to form a transparent mirror suspended in the air. Fine patterns covered its surface, each carrying a faint fluctuation of Law energy.
This was the manifestation of the Law of Prism Reflection, which originated from a peculiar crystal beast that had attacked him shortly after his evolution into a True Human.
At the time, numerous monsters had treated him like some kind of precious elixir, desperately attempting to devour him. The crystal beast had been among them.
Through crystalline resonance, the Law could reflect incoming attacks, bending force and energy back toward their source.
Michael rarely used it because it didn't suit his preferred fighting style. It was, however, one of the few rare light-related Laws available through his undead legion.
Against an attack like this, it was particularly useful.
The mirror expanded rapidly. Within moments, it had grown several dozen meters tall, standing between Michael and the descending sun. As the heat approached, its surface began vibrating faintly, and the surrounding light bent toward it, distorting the space around its edges.
Despite Teacher Brian's unexpected strength, Michael remained completely calm.
Suuuuimmmm!!!
The crimson sun collided with the mirror, sending a violent shockwave across the wilderness.
Yet the mirror remained intact.
Its surface rippled like water, and the enormous sun gradually sank into it. The crystalline patterns brightened as the energy flowed through them in countless streams of crimson light.
A moment later, the patterns flashed, and the absorbed flames erupted outward.
BOOM!
An enormous crimson sun emerged from the mirror, identical to Brian's original attack in size, intensity, and even the fluctuations of Law energy.
The reflected sun shot toward Brian at astonishing speed.
Michael expected the old man to dodge.
However, Brian didn't move.
Instead, he spread his arms, and the crimson flames surrounding his body suddenly surged.
The reflected sun reached Brian.
But rather than exploding upon contact, it began to shrink.
The flames twisted and flowed toward the old man's body, merging with the crimson energy already surrounding him. Within moments, the entire reflected attack had been absorbed.
"..."
Michael watched as Brian's aura grew stronger.
The flames surrounding the old man expanded once again, spreading across the sky.
And then...
BOOOOOOM!
Another sun appeared.
This time, however, it was considerably larger than the previous one.
The crimson sphere expanded rapidly, illuminating the wilderness beneath it. Waves of heat spread outward, distorting the surrounding air, while even the distant mountains began to glow under the overwhelming temperature.
Michael, who had already shielded Isabella with his mana, looked up at the enormous sun with a strange expression.
He can even absorb his own reflected attacks?
Michael decided that he had seen enough. If Teacher Brian continued increasing the intensity of his attacks, things could end rather unpleasantly.
Just as he prepared to suppress the old man, a loud voice, amplified through some special means, suddenly echoed across the wilderness.
"DAD!!!"

Technically, this should have come with a mass release, but the author slept like a goat! ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽
