Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 1047 Surprise [1]

"I can open a gate to this world that allows others to enter from anywhere in the universe? Is a Legendary Grade item truly this powerful?"

The more information he received, the more ridiculous the Mausoleum seemed.

Previously, entering and leaving had only been possible for him and those directly stored within the treasure.

Now things were different.

As long as he supplied sufficient energy and possessed a coordinate to lock onto, the Mausoleum could open temporary gates.

Michael took a deep breath. Then a thought suddenly appeared in his mind.

"If that's the case…"

His gaze became strange, and immediately he left the Mausoleum world.

Meanwhile, Michael's original body in Aurora suddenly opened its eyes.

Back in his room in Brightgate, Michael stood up from his bed. The room was empty and Jester was nowhere nearby.

In fact, he was the only one at home at the moment. Aunt Mia had gone to work while Jester and Lily had resumed school.

Knowing no one was home, Michael stretched out his hand. His consciousness connected with the miniature Mausoleum sleeping within his soul, then he activated the treasure.

Hum.

Mana flooded from his body. At the same time, the space before him distorted. Silver-black ripples spread through the air. Then a crack appeared.

The crack rapidly expanded. Soon, a circular portal over three meters tall formed in the middle of the room.

Beyond it was not darkness, nor was it empty space. Instead, Michael saw the familiar silver sky of the Mausoleum.

Michael's eyes lit up. "It actually worked."

For several moments, he simply stared at the gate. Then he stepped forward. One foot entered. Then the other. The next moment, his body vanished from Aurora and appeared inside the Mausoleum.

There was no transfer delay, no discomfort, no instability. It was as smooth as walking through a doorway.

Michael immediately turned around. The portal still existed. And on the other side, he could clearly see his room in Aurora.

His heartbeat sped up. The implications of this were enormous. Though the cost of creating a portal was significant, Michael felt he could still manage two more before being completely drained.

With an ability like this, if the information the Legendary item had given him was accurate, it was potentially possible for him to travel from one continent to another within Aurora.

If nothing else, it could also serve as a means of escape should the need ever arise.

Though he had not tested it yet, he could already sense that linking two portals together was possible.

Thinking of even more possibilities, Michael felt a growing excitement.

Perhaps a day might come when an entire undead legion could walk through a gate and appear anywhere he desired.

Suddenly, Michael seemed to think of something. His eyes lit up.

Back in the Land of Origin, Michael sat atop a rocky outcrop within a remote forest. The moment the thought of his other body crossed his mind, he immediately stood up.

"No way…"

His heartbeat quickened. The body in the Land of Origin stretched out a hand.

Hum.

Silver-black mana gathered. Space distorted. Soon, another portal appeared before him.

Michael's eyes widened. "It works."

Since this body was essentially a reflection of the original, it possessed access to many of the same functions, including the ability to open portals.

This body could also only create two more portals before exhausting itself completely. However, that was not what had excited Michael.

At that moment, both Michaels stared at each other through the portal. One stood in the Mausoleum world.

The other stood in the Land of Origin. Two different worlds. Two different universes. Connected by a single doorway.

Silence fell.

Then both Michaels spoke at the same time. "…No way."

The next second, the Michael standing in the Land of Origin stepped forward. One foot crossed the threshold. The portal rippled. And suddenly, he appeared inside the Mausoleum world.

The two Michaels now stood face to face.

For several seconds, both simply stared at each other.

Then Michael slowly raised a hand. The other Michael raised a hand as well. Their palms met. It was Solid. It was Real.

A strange expression appeared on Michael's face.

Thanks to the mysterious Land of Origin, the body that had always been there was simply another version of himself.

However, it was only now that they stood side by side that he realized something. Though they were the same, they were also not entirely the same.

For a long moment, neither Michael spoke. They simply stood there, staring at one another.

The resemblance was perfect. The same face. The same height. The same eyes. The same soul. Yet the feeling they gave off was completely different.

It was only now, standing side by side, that Michael truly noticed it.

The Michael of Aurora looked younger. Not physically, but mentally. His posture was more relaxed. His expressions came easier. There was a casualness to the way he stood.

To the outside world, he was merely a student, an exceptionally talented student with a bright future. He still possessed traces of the old Michael.

The other Michael was different.

The Michael from the Land of Origin stood straighter. His movements were calmer, measured, and deliberate. There was a natural authority in the way he carried himself. His gaze seemed deeper and colder, not because he lacked emotions, but because he had spent considerable time being treated as someone of status.

Countless people bowed when they saw him. Officials addressed him with respect. Powerhouses treated him as an equal.

Whether he liked it or not, the Land of Origin had slowly transformed him. He was no longer merely Michael. He was Lord Mic Nor. Master of Thornvale. Controller of the Black Serpent Empire.

The difference was subtle. Yet impossible to ignore.

"…Interesting."

The Aurora Michael spoke first.

The Origin Michael nodded. "Very."

For a moment they circled each other.

The scene would have looked incredibly strange to an outsider. Two identical men studying one another as if meeting for the first time.
