Chapter 243: Killing Philip, Huge Loot
Chapter 243: Chapter 243: Killing Philip, Huge Loot
Aiden took a deep breath at the vault entrance to calm his racing heart.
Usually, he didn’t let his emotions run so high, but this time was different.
He was about to kill a Mythic Rank Demon genius.
Based on his earlier calculations, this should trigger a guaranteed 1000x critical hit. That means lots of Mythic Rank materials, and maybe, if he was lucky, even a Mythic Rank weapon or item.
Plus, the quest progress for “Bane of All Races 2·genus Nightmare” would go up.
It was almost impossible not to feel excited.
After five or six seconds, Aiden stepped into the abandoned bank.
The moment he appeared, a small puff of black smoke shot out from a corner.
“Who are you?” A voice came from the smoke—Philip’s.
Aiden kept a natural expression. “Lord Philip, Lord Drew sent me to protect you. He went to hunt down those damn human Reclassers.”
The black smoke trembled slightly, then Philip’s voice spoke again. “Can’t Drew wait just a little longer for me? In less than an hour, my injuries will be fully healed.”
Aiden’s eyes narrowed slightly.
He was about to keep walking toward the vault when the smoke zipped in front of him.
“Fine,” Philip said. “Just stay here and watch. If any human Reclassers get close, tell me immediately. By the way, what’s your name? Don’t worry, once I’m healed, you’ll be well rewarded.”
Aiden gave him his Demon name.
Philip’s reaction was much like Drew’s earlier.
Moments later, after seeing the smoke fly into the ventilation duct, Aiden’s face turned thoughtful.
He could rush into the vault and attack Philip directly, but there was a big risk Philip might escape through the duct.
If that happened, his Slaughter Demon Aelris identity would be exposed.
It wouldn’t reveal his human side, but it would mean he could no longer move freely among the Demons.
After a moment of thought, Aiden remembered the equipment he had obtained earlier: the Demon Trial Set.
For a certain amount of mana, it could summon three Abyss Demons at level 50: a Warrior, a Mage, an Assassin, and a Knight. The effect lasts for five minutes.
Inside the vault, a human-shaped puff of black smoke sat on the floor.
Suddenly, urgent shouts came from outside: “Lord Philip! A human Reclasser is approaching!”
Philip’s eyes snapped open.
He took a deep breath and split off a small wisp of black smoke, which shot quickly through the vault’s ventilation duct to the outside.
Right now, the Slaughter Demon Aelris looked panicked. He kept glancing nervously at the ruins outside the bank while shouting, “Lord Philip! A human Reclasser is here! Lord Philip!”
Philip directed his smoke to look out over the bank.
He saw three figures in human clothes using the ruins as cover, moving closer.
Without hesitation, Philip told the Slaughter Demon Aelris, “Go handle them. They’re just a few human Reclassers. Why are you so panicked?”
Aiden’s heart sank.
Philip had said the moment a human Reclasser was spotted, he should be notified immediately. It turns out this guy was way too cautious.
But that was fine; Aiden had a much more detailed plan ready.
Aiden nodded, pushed off the ground hard with his feet, and sped toward the ruins outside the bank.
Almost immediately, the sound of battle erupted.
Then, suddenly, Aiden shouted, “Wait… a Pure-blood Dragon Clan? Hah! My luck is actually good. Kid, even with a Pure-blood Dragon Clan as your pet, you look pretty badly hurt, don’t you?”
A Pure-blood Dragon Clan?
Badly hurt?
Inside the vault, Philip jumped to his feet instantly.
Without a second thought, his body dissolved into thick black smoke, flowing through the vent and out to the bank. He flew rapidly toward the source of the sound.
“Aiden! You’re done for!”
Philip raged in his mind. He had never been seriously injured by a human Reclasser before.
Sure enough, he spotted the familiar Pure-blood Dragon Clan.
Even more surprising was that the dragon was covered in blood, its spirit was weak, and its wings flapped with extreme slowness. It looked like it had just survived a fierce battle and was heavily wounded.
And right behind that wounded Pure-blood Dragon Clan, lying amidst the ruins, was a figure dressed in clothes very similar to Aiden’s.
Seeing this, Philip’s face lit up with manic joy.
“I was planning to wait until I healed just to come after you, but you actually ran into me right now! Hahaha! You’re done for, Aiden!”
Philip didn’t even glance at the nearby Slaughter Demon Aelris. His mind was entirely set on how to torture Aiden.
“It’s you?” Faye, covered in blood, suddenly widened her golden eyes. Her body trembled slightly, her expression panicking. Fear flickered in her gaze.
“You won’t hurt my master!” she shouted.
Philip was thrilled by this. He laughed loudly. “You can’t stop me!”
Faye blinked her golden eyes, a look of confusion appearing on her face.
“What do I do? Master only taught me these lines. What comes next?” she wondered in her heart.
But as soon as she saw Slaughter Demon Aelris pulling out the Abyss Flame Demon staff behind Philip, Faye stopped thinking about her next line.
BOOM!
Terrifying ice erupted instantly. It froze the surrounding ground and, in the blink of an eye, completely encased Philip in a block of ice.
Philip’s eyes bulged, and his expression shifted from rage to sheer panic.
Even now, he was staring past Faye, convinced that the heavily wounded [Aiden] was making a final, desperate struggle.
In his mind, Philip thought, “That [Aiden] is in terrible shape. He probably can’t cast any powerful skills again. Besides, I have the Legendary Rank Slaughter Demon Aelris with me. No matter what, I should be safe.”
“By the way, where is Aelris? Why isn’t he moving yet?” Philip wondered.
But reality was completely different from his expectations.
As soon as his body was encased in ice, a storm of violent lightning erupted from all around, followed immediately by the familiar Demon’s Domain.
“Things aren’t looking good,” Philip thought, a sudden dread settling in his stomach. “Does that mean Aiden isn’t hurt at all?”
He desperately wanted to grab Aelris by the neck and scream at him for being so easily deceived by Aiden.
Philip thrashed wildly, trying to break free from the ice’s grip.
But just as a few cracks appeared in the ice encasing him, that Pure-blood Dragon Clan opened its mouth wide.
An invisible pulse instantly struck his soul, freezing his body so he couldn’t move.
Lightning continued to blast everything in the area.
Fear immediately overtook Philip’s heart.
Even in his best condition, he couldn’t have lasted long. Now, with his injuries still unhealed, it was hopeless.
Beyond the fear of death, Philip felt intense confusion.
What is that Slaughter Demon Aelris doing? Drew that idiot must have sent a complete trash can to protect me.
Outside the thunder and the Demon’s Domain, Aiden watched Philip’s health bar drop furiously, a grin spreading across his face.
He didn’t hesitate to raise the Abyss Flame Demon staff again, unleashing one skill after another.
Just to be safe, he even sprayed poison from the Spider Demon Venom Sac Gloves at Philip’s location.
Not even at his final moment did this fool Philip realize that the “Aiden” in front of him was the real deal.

Huge harvest!
A massive harvest!
Aiden glanced at the status message that just popped up in his log, and a quick smile spread across his lips.
No wonder he was a Mythic Rank Demon genius! This one battle gave him a billion experience points!
On top of that, he got tons of Mythic Rank materials, plus Legendary Rank equipment and a Skill Book.
He didn’t get any Mythic Rank equipment, but having one Mythic Rank Skill Enhancement Stone was enough to make Aiden happy.
Plus, the Legendary Rank gear he just got was a flight item. It should let him finally replace the Iron Dragon’s Wings.
“Master, how was my performance just now?” Faye asked excitedly, flapping her wings as she zoomed over.
Behind her, the figure lying on the ground slowly got up. It was a Demon summoned by Aiden using the Demon Trial Set.
Both the three figures that appeared in the ruins outside the bank and this one wearing Aiden’s old clothes were all summons created by Aiden.
When Philip didn’t come out of the vault, Aiden just created a distraction with a battle. He then dressed up one of his Demons in his own clothes, and that set off the chain of events from earlier.
Aiden smiled and patted Faye on the head. “Great job. Here, take this as a reward: some Mythic Rank materials.”
Faye froze instantly. Her golden eyes widened in shock as she stared at Aiden.
Her expression pure disbelief, as if she were dreaming.
Aiden didn’t pay her any more attention. He turned his focus to the loot inside his storage space.
