Chapter 202: Chapter 202: Dream Entanglement: With You Like This... How Can I Possibly Restrain Myself?

Her spiritual power probed deeper, circle by circle, enveloping all the cracks, large and small, in Bai Ye’s spiritual landscape.

The cracks were far more numerous and much deeper than the last time Yun Sheng had seen them. Some areas had even begun to crumble, as if corroded from within.

Her spiritual power cautiously covered them, bit by bit closing the still-widening edges. Under her soothing touch, the fine fissures slowly began to fuse together.

With each fissure that fused, her spiritual power grew a fraction more solid, as if the power she soothed was reciprocating, channeling its purest energy into her own spiritual landscape.

The sensation was intoxicating.

It wasn’t a physical comfort, but one that came from the depths of her soul, like being immersed in warm water, every inch of her senses gently caressed.

Yun Sheng’s breathing grew ragged. An unnatural flush crept up her cheeks, her fingertips trembled, and her entire body seemed to shudder.

Her spiritual power was craving, yearning for more of that energy, yearning for Bai Ye’s power to fill her own parched spiritual landscape, bit by bit.

Bai Ye’s reaction was even more intense than hers.

With each crack that was smoothed and healed, a wave of even more intense pleasure erupted from the depths of his spiritual landscape, surging through every nerve to the ends of his limbs.

It wasn’t pain, but something even harder to endure: a bone-deep, tingling numbness.

His hands clenched into fists, as if he was using all his strength to restrain himself.

But his spiritual power was completely out of control. It frantically coiled around Yun Sheng, desperate to melt her very being into his own flesh and blood.

Yun Sheng’s spiritual power delved deeper still, reaching the most stubborn cracks in the furthest depths of his spiritual landscape.

Those fissures were too deep; they needed more power to stop them from expanding further.

She subconsciously increased her output, and in return, her own spiritual landscape began to frantically absorb his power.

The exchange was too intimate, so intimate it was as if two souls stood naked before each other, merging until there was no telling one from the other.

Bai Ye’s hand suddenly shot out and grabbed her wrist.

He didn’t pull her closer, nor did he push her away. He just held on, gripping her tightly, as if holding onto something that might vanish at any moment.

Bai Ye’s breaths were hot and ragged, his chest heaving violently. "Yun Sheng... stop! If this keeps up, I..."

He didn’t finish.

He couldn’t.

Their spiritual powers continued to entwine, wrapping them together until it was impossible to tell who was giving and who was taking.

For every bit deeper Yun Sheng’s spiritual power went, a bit of his power flowed back to her.

The sensation was too strong. So strong that his rationality was snapping, bit by bit. So strong that his hand seemed to take on a mind of its own, sliding from her wrist to her waist and pulling her slightly closer.

Yun Sheng didn’t pull away. Her consciousness was already a dizzying, intoxicated mess from the exquisitely pleasurable merging.

Her cheeks were shockingly hot, her breathing quick and chaotic. Her eyes were veiled by a thin layer of mist, as if she were utterly captivated by something.

She didn’t know if she was helping Bai Ye, or absorbing his power to help herself recover, or both.

She only knew that she didn’t want to stop—and she couldn’t!

Bai Ye’s hand tightened, and finally, losing control, he pulled her into his arms.

His chin rested on the crown of her head as his spiritual power continued to wrap frantically around her, sealing her in without a single gap.

"...Enough." His voice was so low it was almost a plea, yet it was also a warning to himself. "Yun Sheng, enough. If this keeps going, I really won’t be able to control myself!"

She’d lost count of how many times Bai Ye had said something like that. His sanity was on the verge of collapse, held together only by the desperate thought of not wanting to offend or hurt Yun Sheng.

Yun Sheng didn’t answer.

She buried her face in his chest, listening to his heart, which felt like it was about to pound out of his chest, and feeling their spiritual powers, still hopelessly entangled.

’She knew he was right. It was time to stop.’

’Otherwise, it wouldn’t just be Bai Ye who lost control. She would, too.’

Yun Sheng took a deep breath, gritted her teeth, and began to pull her spiritual power back.

The moment she moved, Bai Ye’s spiritual power surged violently.

The once-docile energy, like a startled beast, instantly sprouted countless invisible limbs that wrapped around her with a death grip, refusing to let her pull away even an inch.

The struggle caused their spiritual powers to slam into each other, making their very souls shudder violently.

"Ngh!"

Bai Ye let out a deep groan. The sound was low, hoarse, and searing—the very essence of sensuality.

Large beads of sweat dripped down his temples. The short hair on his forehead was soaked through, plastered wetly against his skin.

Hearing that groan, Yun Sheng felt a tremor go through her heart.

The sound was too close, as if it had exploded next to her ear, or as if it had been ground into her very heart.

She let out a heavy breath, resignation written all over her face.

The man before her was the lofty, cold, and decisive Star Alliance War God. Handsome and tall, he was the unobtainable man of countless women’s dreams, not just on the Capital Star, but across the entire Star Alliance.

Yet at this moment, he was trembling all over like a gravely wounded, cornered beast, desperately wanting to get closer to her yet desperately holding himself back.

When those crimson eyes looked at her, they burned with heat and desire, as if she were the only thing he could see.

’If Yun Sheng had no reaction at all, as if she were some kind of saint... well, that would be truly ridiculous.’

She bit her lip. Instead of pulling her spiritual power back again, she allowed it to remain entwined with hers, wrapping her up completely.

At that moment, Yun Sheng’s heart was a mess of contradictions.

For the first time, she clearly realized that she had been attracted to Bai Ye for a long time. It was only because of his status, and because of the things he had done in the past, that she had forced herself to ignore this attraction.

He was the Star Alliance War God, Lin Yueyao’s fiancé in name, and the man who had once relentlessly pressured and scrutinized her.

But he was also the man who had nearly fallen into a Dark Sentinel while desperately protecting her outside the canyon!

’She couldn’t figure out what she was thinking, and she didn’t want to try anymore.’

In the end, Yun Sheng could only comfort herself with one thought: ’This is a dream. I’ll just treat it as a dream, and when I wake up, I’ll forget.’

Because, ultimately, she couldn’t bear to watch Bai Ye go berserk, worsen his injuries, and finally become a Dark Sentinel.

Perhaps because their spiritual powers were intertwined, Bai Ye seemed to sense the change in her mood.

The hand on her waist suddenly tightened, his knuckles clenching slightly, as if restraining something, or perhaps confirming something.

The next second, he raised his other hand and gently took her chin, tilting her face up.

His crimson eyes stared intently at her, still filled with searing heat and desire, along with a hint of wounded vulnerability that even he hadn’t noticed.

"Yun Sheng, do you have any idea what you’re doing? How... how am I supposed to restrain myself when you’re like this?"
