Chapter 752: Chapter 320: Revenge

The Ancient Perilous Land is a training ground for Practitioners.

It is also where disciples from the major sects temper their cultivation and character.

The Immortal King’s Tomb lay within the Ancient Perilous Land, a fact that deterred Practitioners of average cultivation from exploring it. However, tempted by the promise of Immortal Fate, countless others at the first or second level of Qi Refining still formed groups and ventured toward the tomb.

Using Sword Flight, Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui flew straight toward the Ancient Perilous Land. After several more days, they finally entered the perilous region.

The Immortal King’s Tomb was deep within the Ancient Perilous Land.

Back then, Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui had been pursued by a Nine-headed Bird. Fleeing for their lives, they had unintentionally hidden in the Stone Forest and blindly stumbled into the Immortal King’s Tomb.

Because the memory was so deeply ingrained, they both still remembered the tomb’s exact location.

After flying within the perilous land for a few more days, Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui joined forces to eliminate a pack of frenzied Demon Beasts. Finally, a stretch of Stone Forest appeared before them.

An Array was active within the Stone Forest. The Five Elements Power merged as runic symbols drifted out, generating formidable defensive and Attack Power.

Outside the Stone Forest were the figures of many Practitioners.

Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui soon spotted the banners of the Profound Celestial Sect.

The two of them quickly flew over.

"Junior Brother Jiang."

Chu Lingguang quickly saw Jiang Ruhong.

"Chu!"

Seeing Chu Lingguang again, Jiang Ruhong was in disbelief. After more than three years, Chu Lingguang had finally returned from Great Yuan.

He had never understood why Chu Lingguang would forsake the Immortal Fate in the Immortal King’s Tomb just to escort Guo Wei back to Great Yuan and help him fulfill his final wish.

And the round trip had taken more than three years in total.

It seemed like just a few short years, but for many Practitioners, it meant possibly losing the best chance at Immortal Fate they would ever have.

"What’s the situation here now?"

Chu Lingguang asked.

He saw the banners of the Profound Celestial Sect, as well as those of the Cyan Cloud Sect and other Minor Sects, surrounding the Stone Forest. The major sects had clearly demarcated their territories.

But when he swept his Spiritual Sense over the area, he found that the people guarding the perimeter generally had low cultivation levels. Although there were Foundation Establishment Realm cultivators, many were injured, and he couldn’t tell if they had been wounded inside the Immortal King’s Tomb or from fighting others outside.

"The Sect Leader and the Elders are all inside the Immortal King’s Tomb. Elder Yang is in there too. It’s said that they’re close to obtaining the Immortal Fate."

Jiang Ruhong lowered his voice as he finished speaking.

"Have the people from the Cyan Cloud Sect all gone in too?"

Chu Lingguang inquired.

"Of course. Almost everyone who could break through the Array and pass through the Stone Forest has gone inside."

Jiang Ruhong nodded.

"Do you remember what the person who injured my master looks like? Is he inside the Immortal King’s Tomb?"

Chu Lingguang asked again.

"When you took your master back to the Celestial Sea, I kept investigating this for you. That person’s name is Ma Jihu. He’s an Elder of the Cyan Cloud Sect, with the strength of the Immortal Dao Foundation Establishment. He has already refined the Heaven-Swallowing Python’s Scale Armor into protective gear—one set for himself and one for his grandson."

"He just came out of the Immortal King’s Tomb not long ago. He should still be somewhere in the Ancient Perilous Land right now,"

Jiang Ruhong said.

"Ma Jihu... He actually dared to refine the Scale Armor into protective gear."

Chu Lingguang was filled with righteous indignation.

He directed his Spiritual Sense to sweep over the Cyan Cloud Sect’s encampment.

The Cyan Cloud Sect’s camp was crowded. To compete for the Immortal Fate, the Cyan Cloud Sect had recruited many disciples and even enlisted many Loose Cultivators to join them.

Most of the people waiting outside at this moment were Outer Sect and Inner Sect Disciples of the Cyan Cloud Sect, along with the Loose Cultivators they had hired.

Chu Lingguang sensed two auras at the Foundation Establishment level among them.

One of them was injured.

Their cultivation was ordinary—clearly not the Ma Jihu that Jiang Ruhong had described.

He then looked at the portrait Jiang Ruhong had prepared and memorized Ma Jihu’s face. The main reason he had rushed back this time was to avenge Guo Wei.

"Don’t act rashly,"

Li Qiushui warned.

Chu Lingguang nodded, then asked Jiang Ruhong about what had happened inside the Immortal King’s Tomb during his absence.

It turned out that ever since the news broke that the Immortal King’s Tomb’s Restriction Array had weakened, many people had disregarded the danger and scrambled to get inside.

In the past three years, quite a few people had found opportunities, but many more had perished inside the Immortal King’s Tomb. Both the Cyan Cloud Sect and the Profound Celestial Sect had lost powerful experts.

These people either died to the Restriction Arrays or Nascent Soul Ghosts inside the tomb, or they killed each other in the fight for Immortal Fate.

To reduce casualties, the Profound Celestial Sect took the lead in creating a plan, explicitly forbidding anyone who entered the Immortal King’s Tomb from killing each other.

This prohibition received the support of the Cyan Cloud Sect and various other major and Minor Sects.

Although everyone knew that when the Immortal Fate finally appeared, people would still lose control and fight, even going into a killing frenzy to snatch it at all costs.

But the plan everyone agreed upon still played a crucial role. At least, before the Immortal Fate appeared, the death rate for those entering the Immortal King’s Tomb was mostly due to the Restriction Arrays or the Nascent Soul Ghosts. Incidents of man-made deaths or backstabbing rarely occurred again.

The major sects had maintained their camps outside the Stone Forest for over two years now, and no fights had broken out, either outside the Stone Forest or inside the Immortal King’s Tomb.

Everyone relied on their own abilities, each searching for their own Immortal Fate.

And according to reliable sources...

The disciples of the Profound Celestial Sect, the Cyan Cloud Sect, and other sects, as well as some powerful Loose Cultivators, were all gathered before a black palace inside the Immortal King’s Tomb. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

They had discovered that the black palace held a great secret—perhaps even an immense treasure trove of Immortal Fate.
