Chapter 751: Chapter 319: Safety First, Starting Over (Part 2)

Even a Foundation Establishment Practitioner, in a place lacking Spiritual Power, only needs about three to five Spirit Stones a month to replenish their energy.

But a suit of Defense Armor actually required a thousand Spirit Stones. This wasn’t something an ordinary Practitioner could afford.

Thus, when Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui walked out of the cultivation marketplace together, they couldn’t help but attract some attention.

Among them was a stout young man, a Practitioner who had reached the Foundation Establishment Realm, who had been following the two of them for a while.

Chu Lingguang had noticed his presence long ago.

The stout young man paused, then revealed himself, stopping two hundred meters away from Chu Lingguang.

Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui said nothing. They simply took out their Profound Celestial Sect Identity Tokens and robes and put them on.

"Profound Celestial Sect disciples?"

The stout young man froze.

The Profound Celestial Sect was one of the top sects in Great Qin. In recent years, due to matters concerning the Immortal King’s Tomb, they had been in a fierce, irreconcilable conflict with the Cyan Cloud Sect and several others, but they had consistently held the upper hand.

He hadn’t expected to see disciples of the Profound Celestial Sect coming to a cultivation marketplace to buy things like Defense Armor. Logically, the Profound Celestial Sect had its own Artifact Refiners and Alchemy Masters, so the sect should be self-sufficient in resources.

If Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui needed those items, they could have bought them directly from the sect. Why were they buying them at the marketplace?

The stout young man didn’t know that Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui had just returned from Great Yuan and wanted to head straight for the Immortal King’s Tomb. They hadn’t gone back to the Profound Celestial Sect to get new equipment because they didn’t want the hassle.

After all, the Great Qin Territory was many times larger than Great Yuan.

Their current location was quite far from the Profound Celestial Sect. A round trip would waste a significant amount of time.

This was because on their way back to Great Qin, Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui had heard about the Immortal King’s Tomb from other Practitioners more than once.

This was especially true after they entered Great Qin and neared the cultivation marketplace.

Their assumptions were correct.

The Immortal King’s Tomb had become the most popular "attraction" in Great Qin.

The major sects and countless Loose Cultivators were recklessly entering the Ancient Perilous Land to explore the Immortal King’s Tomb for opportunities. In just a few short years, countless people had perished inside the tomb, though quite a few had also obtained their own lucky chances. Right now, factions formed by the Profound Celestial Sect, the Cyan Cloud Sect, and others were in a standoff within the tomb. It was said they were preparing to fight over the treasures and opportunities within a black palace.

Several new "industries" had even sprung up in Great Qin because of this.

There were Practitioners who specialized in guiding Loose Cultivators into the Ancient Perilous Land, taking them to the Immortal King’s Tomb, or selling information on safe routes inside.

That was why the stout young man had initially thought Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui were Loose Cultivators from afar who wanted to seek their fortune in the Immortal King’s Tomb.

He never would have guessed they were disciples of the Profound Celestial Sect.

However, Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui looked younger than him. Although Practitioners could reverse their aging, it consumed Spiritual Power.

In the stout young man’s eyes, he had been cultivating for more years than Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui, so he waved his hand.

Three cultivators at the twelfth level of Qi Refining rushed forward from behind him.

Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui both frowned. Someone actually dared to rob Practitioners from the Profound Celestial Sect.

"You want to make an enemy of the Profound Celestial Sect?"

Li Qiushui warned.

"I don’t care what sect you’re from! Right now, your Sect Leader and a bunch of Elders are all in the Immortal King’s Tomb fighting with the Cyan Cloud Sect and other major sects over Immortal Fate. Even if I kill you, what can your Profound Celestial Sect do to me?"

"If you know what’s good for you, drop the armor, Flying Sword, and other Magical Treasures you just bought on the ground and walk away. Otherwise..."

the stout young man threatened.

The three twelfth-level Qi Refining Practitioners behind him also summoned their Flying Swords, ready to strike.

"Otherwise what?"

Chu Lingguang challenged.

As he spoke, fifth-tier Spiritual Power rippled in front of him.

His Flying Sword appeared and hovered by his side. The Five Elements Power fused together in the blink of an eye, and an invisible pressure surged toward the stout young man and his three cronies.

"This..."

The stout young man’s expression froze.

’Chu Lingguang’s speed at fusing the Five Elements Power is just too fast.’

’Could Chu Lingguang’s Foundation Establishment Realm be higher than mine?’

A cultivator’s realm determined their strength.

’If Chu Lingguang’s realm is higher than mine, then even if I reached the Foundation Establishment Realm before he did, I’m still no match for him.’

He hadn’t thought that some random disciple from the Profound Celestial Sect would be this terrifyingly powerful.

He really couldn’t understand why someone like Chu Lingguang wasn’t in the Immortal King’s Tomb supporting his sect. ’Could it be he only recently heard about the tomb and rushed back from somewhere extremely far away?’

"Do you know who he is?"

Li Qiushui sneered, pointing at Chu Lingguang beside her.

"Who?"

the stout young man replied.

"His name is Chu Lingguang, and his master is our Profound Celestial Sect’s foremost Alchemy Master, Elder Yang Rong."

Li Qiushui sneered.

"What?"

The stout young man’s face went pale with shock.

"Boss, don’t let her fool you."

"We’ve never heard of Yang Rong taking a disciple."

"No need to waste words on them. Boss, you tie him up, and after we kill that broad, we’ll come help you."

his three underlings behind him urged.

"Shut up."

the stout young man snapped.

The three underlings didn’t dare say another word.

The stout young man carefully sensed the fluctuations of Telekinesis coming from Chu Lingguang. As a Foundation Establishment Realm Practitioner, he had also opened his Sea of Consciousness and grasped this power, but his level of Telekinesis was far inferior to Chu Lingguang’s.

However, he could sense Chu Lingguang’s Telekinesis level.

Someone with fifth-tier Telekinesis definitely had the potential to become a powerful Alchemy Master. Add to that the fact that he was also a Foundation Establishment Realm Practitioner and could fuse the Five Elements Power in an instant—no matter how he looked at it, Li Qiushui’s words didn’t seem like a lie.

So, the stout young man gave a dry cough, puffed out his chest, and said, "I have long heard that the disciples of the Profound Celestial Sect possess boundless Magical Power. Seeing you today, I can see the rumors are true. However, I am no nobody myself. Do you know who I am?"

Chu Lingguang looked at Li Qiushui. He hadn’t spent much time in Great Qin and this was his first time encountering a Foundation Establishment Realm Tribulation Cultivator, so he knew nothing about the stout young man.

Li Qiushui, on the other hand, stared at the stout young man for a moment, racking her brain. She knew that anyone who dared to attack a Profound Celestial Sect Practitioner was no simple character.

’He must be a leader among this generation of Tribulation Cultivators.’

But she truly didn’t know the stout young man’s identity, so she shook her head and said, "And who might you be, sir?"

Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui both wore guarded expressions.

They were on alert for a sneak attack from the stout young man.

However, upon hearing Li Qiushui’s question, the arrogant-looking stout young man let out a huge sigh of relief inwardly. He turned, grabbed his three underlings, and sped off into the distance, disappearing from Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui’s sight in the blink of an eye.

In the end, even their Spiritual Sense couldn’t track their trail.

They had clearly gotten far away from the two of them.

"This..."

Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui were both completely baffled.

They couldn’t understand the stout young man’s train of thought.

"Boss, why did we suddenly run?"

one of the underlings asked, confused.

"Are you not afraid of staying there to die? That guy, Chu Lingguang, is stronger than me. Even if all of us attacked together, we wouldn’t be his match,"

the stout young man replied.

"Then why did you ask if he knew your name? We all thought you were about to make a move!"

another underling said, frustrated.

"Are you stupid? If I had let him know my name, we wouldn’t have gotten away with just running. I’m afraid there’d be no place left for us in all of Great Qin. We’d have to find some ravine to hide in."

"It’s a good thing they don’t know who I am. From now on, don’t mess with anyone from the Profound Celestial Sect."

"No, we can’t stay in this area anymore. We’re moving."

The stout young man, still shaken, said this while patting his chest as they fled.

As a Tribulation Cultivator, he had only managed to survive and grow to his current level by being cautious. Every time he robbed someone, he would first observe them carefully, only making a move when he was absolutely certain of success.

If it weren’t for the fact that Chu Lingguang and Li Qiushui had so many enviable items on them, he would have disappeared the moment he learned they were Profound Celestial Sect disciples.

He never expected that Chu Lingguang wasn’t just a disciple of the Profound Celestial Sect, but also Yang Rong’s apprentice. Even more critically, Chu Lingguang’s speed at fusing Five Elements Spiritual Power far surpassed his own.

With all these things combined in one person, it was as if Chu Lingguang had a flashing red danger sign hovering over him.

So, for safety’s sake, as if fearing Chu Lingguang would settle scores later, the stout young man took his underlings and actually left this cultivation marketplace. They headed for another marketplace thousands of miles away—one with a lower level of consumption—to start their "business" anew!
