Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 3579 Dao Companions

Chapter 3579 Dao Companions

The Sky God sighed as she realized what she might have completely missed.

"So many gods died during the war that I had no reason to think anything of the Alchemy God's death. His death was a tragic one, especially since his wife died not long before him, but I could hardly focus on it as that was the situation back then. Still, I should have done something. He was the youngest person to ever become a god. He hadn't even reached the Divine Manifestation Realm when he was given godhood. In retrospect, his death deserved more scrutiny."

Bladedance spoke up. "It's perfectly understandable why you wouldn't have tried to figure out how he died. From your perspective, he died in a battle where the enemies attacked us. Even now, it is not clear that he could have died any other way. He may truly have died to the demons while he was running away from someone at the same time. Those two things are mutually exclusive."

Alex supposed that was true. He believed the Alchemy God's death to be more of a controversy than anyone else did only because he had reasons to think so. Even then, he could not guarantee that the Alchemy God didn't die to the demons.

"As far as I understand, he was running from a Death Sage, so the Death Sage may have managed to find him," Alex said. "Which is why I wish to find this person."

"I will help you if I can," Bladedance said. "But there are many Death Sages, and if you do not know their name, it will be difficult. Since the Alchemy God's death happened outside of the realm itself, even Heaven can't give you the answer, sadly."

"That's fine," Alex said. "After going through a list of names in the Wine God's library, I have come up with four Death Sages who were alive back then that aren't alive right now."

The Sky God narrowed her eyes. "I heard you had a list. There were plenty of Death Sages back in the day, you know."

"There were, but these particular ones had to be male and be part of the Sword God's cult or the Death God's cult," Alex said. "And after going through the list, the names we ended up with were Somberskull, Deathgrim, Deadcall, and Pallideyes."

"I see," the Sky God said. "Well, Somberskull has a sect in the west, so you can leave for it whenever you have the time. If he did kill the Alchemy God, then I can punish him for it."

Alex nodded. That was all he wanted to hear.

"You mentioned that the Alchemy God had a wife. Am I correct in assuming it was Duskcorpse?" he asked.

"Yes, she was. The original Death God," the Sky God said. "They were always together ever since Littleflower started helping with her condition, but not many were actually aware that they had become Dao companions in the end."

Alex listened with wide eyes. He would have never imagined it either, had he not seen the way the two acted in Godslayer's memories. He felt a tinge of sadness when he thought about the Alchemy God, still quite young, having just lost his wife, being chased, and then likely killed.

"Do you have any idea what it might be that the Alchemy God had that someone would want?" Alex asked.

"His alchemy knowledge?" the Sky God asked.

Alex shook his head. That didn't sound right. "If it is the Death Sage who is responsible, then it has to do with the dead Death God, surely," he said.

"Maybe. I can't help you in determining what technique or artifact the Death God may have had in the past. As far as I'm aware, she didn't hide her techniques from her cult, so many of them should have those techniques with them."

Alex thought for a bit. It was clear at this point that whatever secret it was that the Alchemy God had, he hadn't shared it even with the Sky God. Either that, or the Sky God was not willing to share it with any of them. Considering the Alchemy God's words for him to stop seeking the other books should he wish to leave the secret forever as just that, it had to be something big that the Death Sage would want to kill him for.

Alex was not going to stop searching for the other books, so one day, he would hopefully find out the secret.

"I guess we won't find any answers by just discussing among ourselves, will we?" Alex asked. "In that case, I have another question. It's one I have been curious about for a while now."

"Go ahead. Ask what you want," the Sky God said.

"I heard that the Alchemy God didn't start with 7 spirit roots, but ended up with them. Is that true?" he asked.

The Sky God nodded. "That is very much true," she said.

"Oh? So Senior Yang didn't lie?" Alex asked. "In that case, may I ask how he went on to have 7 spirit roots? I can't even imagine how it can be possible to add spirit roots."

"There are plenty of methods to do so, but they are all highly frowned upon due to their high chance of crippling the individual. However, the one method that the Alchemy God used was perhaps the safest of all the options, from what I understand."

Alex narrowed his eyes. "And what option is that?"

The Sky God answered simply, "To eat a pill that gives you new spirit roots."

Alex stared with a blank expression on his face, unsure if he had even heard it correctly.

"I'm sorry. Are you saying there are pills that can give you spirit roots?" Alex asked.

"That is what I'm saying."

Alex didn't know what to say.

"Did he ever pass along that information to anyone? Any alchemist that may still have this knowledge?"

The Sky God shook her head. "If he did give anyone anything, I do not know," she said. "There are certainly no techniques to be found. But there still exists a pill from back then. And as it happens, I have it with me."
