Chapter 3577 Crimsonstar

Chapter 3577 Crimsonstar

"The two books?" Alex asked, not having considered that he would be asked to return the two books.

"Yes," the Sky God said. "You do have them, don't you?"

"I do," Alex answered. "But I'm using both of them already, so I do not see how I can return them so easily."

The Sky God held a strange look on her face. "Are you using the Blood God's Manual as well?" she asked.

"Actively," Alex answered. "I have fully refined it to be mine. In this instance, if you ask me for it, I can only refuse to return it."

"Could you show how you're using it?" the Sky God asked. "If it's not too late, you can just hand it over."

Alex shrugged and instantly brought out his Blood Armor, creating robes and helms as well as gauntlets and greaves. The speed at which it appeared was so quick that the Sky God could only reasonably suspect that he had been using it for a long time.

"That's an issue," she said slowly.

"May I ask why that is an issue?" Alex asked.

"Because this would have been my one chance to appease Crimsonstar and hopefully get her on my side of the fence," she said.

Alex narrowed his eyes, going through the few pieces of information he had learned about while in the Sacred Lotus Dominion.

"That's the current Blood God, is she not?" he asked.

"She is," the Sky God said. "And her faction has demanded that the Blood God's Manual be returned. If I could do that, I could bring her back to my side."

Alex wasn't exactly sure if the Sky God meant to bring the Blood God into her cult or not. It was quite confusing the way she spoke.

'What else could she mean by bringing the Blood God to her side of the fence?' Alex thought, trying to determine what the fence was even about. Just then, he realized something.

"Is the Blood God advocating for war by any chance?" Alex asked.

"She is," the Sky God answered truthfully. "In fact, she is one of the loudest voices among all those in favor of the war."

That was interesting.

"May I ask why she hadn't used the Blood God's Manual to begin with?" Alex asked. "Surely, if she wants it that much, she would have used it in the first place. Why would she ever hand it over to be taken in with the treaty?"

"That's because it was never with her to begin with. After the Blood God died, the book went to someone else. He became a blood sage and was one of the prospects who would become the next Blood God, but he died before he could do much. Crimsonstar became the god not long after.

"The book then found its way to us, and we kept it. Crimsonstar has been wanting it ever since because it technically does belong to her faction, but I chose not to adhere to her demands. But now, if I were to do it, I would have a chance to get her to stop speaking about the war."

Alex nodded slowly, somewhat understanding the Sky God's consideration on this matter.

"But would she change her stance just because you give it back?" Alex asked. "Wouldn't she become even more brazen since you won't have anything to use against her?"

"She already thinks I don't have anything to use against her," the Sky God said. "That's why I wanted to bring her to my side by giving the book."

Bladedance, who had been listening to the conversation this whole time, slowly shook her head. "Understanding Crimsonstar, your plan is nothing but wishful thinking. Currently, she knows that you have lost the manual.

"If you now claim that you have found the manual, she will demand it back anyway. If you give it back, she will have no reason to do anything you say. If you hold it, she will become even more brazen, and this time cause the other gods to turn against you," Bladedance said. "If it were any other person, I could've understood. But since it's Crimsonstar, the only correct choice you really have is to never let her know that you have found the book. So long as she thinks that the book is lost, she will never directly target you at all."

The Sky God couldn't help but agree with Bladedance's words, even though she wanted to believe otherwise. The Blood God truly was a maniac in that particular way.

"I should have asked this before, but do you know how many there are that are currently advocating for war?" Bladedance asked. "More particularly, how many Half-Gods are in favor of the war?"

The Sky God thought for a brief second. "There are 5 Half-Gods currently in favor of war, and maybe another dozen or so regular gods, but I'm not very sure on their part."

"Five?" Alex asked in surprise. "And there are only 8, right? So more than half of the Half-Gods are in favor of war?"

The Sky God nodded. "The other Half-Gods, other than me, who do not want a war are the Stone God and the Golden God. Grandvein is the only one who has explicitly told me that she will do whatever she can to stop the war from happening. I do not know if Ironheart has changed his mind or not."

Alex didn't know much about the Stone God at all. He had heard of her name, but he was only just now realizing that she was a woman.

If those three were against war, then the ones that were in favor of it would be the Fire God, the Forest God, the Winter God, the Ocean God, and the Storm God.

"I simply cannot imagine how you've managed to keep peace until now. You are clearly being outvoted from what I can see," Bladedance said.

"I think the only thing that is keeping the war from breaking out is that none of the Half-Gods truly care about the war. They are already Celestials, so whether or not there is a war, it matters very little to them."
