Endless Leveling Done Right!

Chapter 704: Epitome Of Human Trash

Chapter 704: Epitome Of Human Trash

King Aerindir walked through the hallway of the palace, his footsteps echoing across its walls.

From time to time, a green orb of light would fly by his side, sending him reports from his subordinates in real time.

"Alex Stratos is currently staying at the Maiden’s Kiss Inn," the orb of green light reported.

"Continue to monitor his movements," King Aerindir ordered. "If he ever makes contact with my daughters, especially Lapiz, report it to me immediately."

"Understood," the green orb of light replied before vanishing completely.

A few seconds later, a purple orb hovered beside the Elven King.

"The Guardian of the Mistral Weave Forest has made contact with Professor Matilda," the purple orb reported. "They are talking about the Singing King tournament, where Alex will be competing in."

"Professor Matilda?" King Aerindir remembered the elven woman who served as Faelarun Academy’s Music Professor. "Do you know what they are talking about?"

"I only heard bits and parts of it, but according to what I can piece together, they plan on sabotaging Alex Stratos during the tournament," the purple orb reported.

The King of the Elves stopped walking after hearing the purple orb’s report.

These orbs belonged to high-level spirits that had formed a contract with his special division unit that handled investigations, assassinations, as well as other dirty work for the king.

"Interesting," King Aerindir said with a tinge of amusement in his voice. "Feel free to make contact with them. If they plan to sabotage Alex Stratos, do your best to help them. Keep me updated."

"Yes, Your Majesty!" The purple orb vanished.

King Aerindir was becoming more interested in the young man. The Guardian of the Mistral Weave Forest was an extremely powerful Celestial Fox. If that kind of being had grievances with Alex, then that meant that they were his ally.

As for Professor Matilda, there were reports of her being part of the Elitist Faction who was still clinging to the old belief of Elven Supremacy.

King Aerindir knew that this old belief was no longer necessary in the current world.

After all, the elves that once stood above all races were now a matter of the past.

The other races, especially the humans, were now on par... and might have even surpassed them when it came to magical knowledge and martial skills.

Though short-lived, they burned like bright stars, leaving their knowledge behind and passing it to the next generation.

As for the elves, they had actually stagnated...

Stuck on old beliefs that no longer benefited them.

This was why he had allowed his daughters to study in Frieden Academy. He wanted them to know more about human society.

In fact, King Aerindir didn’t mind if both Aeris and Lapiz married humans.

This might even benefit their growth, especially after these short-lived humans died.

Only those who stepped on the realm of Rank 8 and above would rebuild their bodies, surpassing the limits of mortality.

And once the human mates of his daughters died, he believed they would never marry another human again.

It was a hard lesson, but a lesson nevertheless.

A few hours later...

"Are all human kids like this nowadays?" King Aerindir was baffled after receiving more reports about Alex Stratos.

He could still understand why the young man had confessed to his daughter Lapiz. After all, she was beautiful and carried the royal lineage of the elves.

In fact, it would be even weirder if she didn’t have any human suitors.

However, he would only allow someone decent to be with her.

And after hearing the reports about Alex Stratos, the King concluded that the young man was far from being decent.

If anything, he was very indecent!

"The number of his lovers are suspected to be around four to seven young ladies." King Aerindir read the report that was just submitted to him by his trusted subordinate.

"It is suspected that he used blackmail to make these girls follow him. He might have taken hold of their secrets and is using it to force them to become his lovers. He is known as the Blackmail King of Frieden Academy."

King Aerindir took a deep breath because the more he read the reports, the more he thought of Alex as an eyesore.

"Epitome of human trash," King Aerindir muttered as he read more reports about Alex’s public display of affection.

What he didn’t know was that his agents had been interviewing Chuck’s brother, Caspian, who had many bad things to say about Alex!

The young man was more than happy to badmouth the person who had almost dissolved the Lionheart Club over some petty grudge!

Suddenly, the purple orb materialized in front of the King, giving him a follow-up report.

"I have made contact with Professor Matilda and the Guardian of the Mistral Weave Forest, Lady Evarisse," the agent reported. "I have confirmed my earlier conclusion that they plan to sabotage Alex Stratos."

"What are the methods that they are going to use?" King Aerindir asked. "Laxatives?"

"No, Your Majesty," the Agent replied. "They plan to make him drink a potion on the day of the Singing King tournament. As for what kind of potion it will be, Professor Matilda will personally brew it. However, she has no intention of sharing any information about the potion."

"I see..." King Aerindir lightly tapped his desk with his finger. "Tell them that they will receive full cooperation to secure the venue and ensure that no one will be able to interfere. Just make sure that nothing is traced back to me."

"Yes, Your Majesty!" the purple orb replied before it faded away.

"Wait. Just out of curiosity, why is the Guardian trying to harm a young man?" King Aerindir inquired.

"According to her, Alex Stratos and her had an agreement," the agent replied. "If he wins the Singing King tournament, then Lady Evarisse will be forced to give her blessing to his relationship with her daughter. She wanted to prevent that from happening."

"What? This young man dared to do something like that?" King Aerindir didn’t know if he should be impressed by the young man’s audacity. Not only did he try to hook up with his daughter, he also tried to hook up with the daughter of the Guardian of Mistral Weave Forest.

"That boy really has guts," King Aerindir muttered.

"You can say that again, Your Majesty," the agent commented.

"Very well. Keep me updated."

"By your will!"

King Aerindir stood up and walked towards the window of his office.

’Just where is his confidence coming from?’

The King of the Elves pondered over this question for a while, but no answers came.

Despite knowing someone was actively trying to make Alex lose the singing competition, he decided to turn a blind eye to these maneuvers behind the scenes.

Although he felt a little guilty for doing something like this, he believed that this young human should be brought down a peg for his own good.

Since someone planned to do the dirty work for him, why would he try to stop them?

"What would you have done if you were here, My Dear?" King Aerindir muttered. "I miss you very much."

He then closed his eyes, reliving his memories with his beloved wife.

Perhaps if the Queen of the Elves was there, she might have laughed out loud and even joined Professor Matilda and Lady Evarisse in coming up with a plan that would make the detestable young man, who tried to ask for her daughter’s hand... fall into ruin.
