Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking

Chapter 942 942: Urek's Breakthrough

Cedric came really close to a breakthrough today…

Things started out well. He was in his usual routine of comprehending a new origin law. After memorizing it, comprehending every single law essence it has, and gaining the recognition of the law, Cedric relaxed just for a little bit.

That’s when he started cursing because his origin energy and inner world started swelling beyond his expectations.

Typically, Cedric wouldn’t make this kind of miscalculation. With how fast he was chewing through the origin laws, by now, he had gained sufficient clues to estimate just how much improvement he’d had after each one.

He relaxed because he thought he got it all under control. He thought that the increase in his origin energy and the expansion of his inner world would be within his expectations.

Well, he was wrong, and he nearly paid dearly for it.

Even he didn’t see it coming. He already had his origin energy compressed extremely densely. Hell, he practically created star systems, constellations, whole planes, solar systems, and galaxies with how much he compressed them. Moreover, he greatly limited his use and output of his own energy source to prevent any accidents from happening.

Additionally, his inner world, which was already a few notches larger than the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm itself, was also sealed by him. He wouldn’t access it unless he really needed to, and he wouldn’t release it to overlap with his environment either.

With these preparations, he thought that he’d be good and without any worries for a while. Alas, he was sorely mistaken.

You see, Cedric was used to the increase in quantity of his origin energy and a little expansion of his inner world. This time, however, the bonus included an increase in his origin energy’s quality too, and his Inner World didn’t just expand; it has now started breeding its own spirituality.

This was huge for so many reasons…

The main reason being that this kind of development only happens after an individual breaks through the Primal Origin Lifeform Realm. It shouldn’t have been possible even for someone like him who’s only a step away from it.

Regardless of how small that gap was, it’s still a considerable distance. More importantly, Cedric hasn’t gained the sufficient qualifications or approval of the Supreme Will for this. He hasn’t broken the shackles that bound his Empyrean Shadow yet, so this kind of development shouldn’t have been possible.

Sure, Cedric had more than one Origin Law under his belt, and yes, he technically doesn’t have to respect the Supreme Will’s opinion about him. But the procedure was there to begin with, and Cedric never really thought that he was an exception to that rule and procedure.

But, faced with this, he couldn’t help but start thinking otherwise.

It’d only make sense if you think about it. After all, where would you see a peak Empyrean Realm expert who comprehended about 65 Origin Laws?

Nowhere, that’s what. Cedric was a unique existence. He’s someone who could rightfullh ignore the urging and threats of the Supreme Will itself. Even the Origin Source Law was exasperated of him because of how frequently and how swiftly he comprehends Origin Laws.

So, with all of this, Cedric was truly an outlier. He doesn’t conform with the rules or the procedures. Therefore, it would make sense why he’d develop in unexpected and overachieving ways.

Still, this unforeseen development made him sweat…

Because he didn’t see it coming, he didn’t prepare for it. The sudden swell of his inner world and its act of incubating its own spirituality, plus the increase in his origin energy’s quality and quantity, truly caught him off guard.

He had to engage in full focus mode for the first time in a while to forcibly process this sudden development so that it wouldn’t force him to actually make a breakthrough that he didn’t want to happen.

What a conundrum, really. He’s probably the only person who would willingly suppress his own breakthrough to the Primal Origin Lifeform Realm. Had this happen to someone else, they’d probably surrender to it by now. Hell, they might not even reach this point at all. They’d relent to its lure the first time they feel the real possibility of a successful breakthrough.

Speaking of breakthroughs…

After so long since Nick and Patricia’s breakthrough to the Primal Origin Life-Form Realm, somebody finally followed their footsteps.

Surprisingly? It’s Urek who achieved it.

Yes, Urek has become the 3rd person who stepped into the peak of existence, becoming a Primal Origin Lifeform pretty recently.

The affair happened pretty much the same way as Nick’s and Pat’s did.

Truthfully, even Urek himself didn’t expect that he’d come this far. His main body was busy contributing still to the colonization efforts. He’s helping in any little ways that he can to make the life of the colonists just a bit easier.

To him, it wasn’t much, but it’s honest work.

The task of cracking down on the Mirage Origin Law was left to one of his clones, one that has been left in his private seclusion grounds at the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm.

This clone was created for this very reason, and it had been there since Nick and Pat ascended.

While it took periodic breaks, it hasn’t truly stopped. Again, Urek made this clone for this very purpose, and it had been doing its job ever since.

And just recently, it finally succeeded in completing its task.

The Mirage Origin Law, surprisingly, needed 55 Law Essences in total. Urek’s clone had already comprehended those quite some time ago; the real problem he had was figuring out the Origin Mirage Diagram needed to gain the recognition of the Origin Law itself.

That took some time. Urek had to do a lot of experimenting and trial and error. This was the lament of those without a proper guide. However, just like how Nick and Pat did it, Urek too was clued in by the world.

He received a revelation, or an inspiration, which allowed him to glimpse what the Origin Mirage Law looked like, and once he discovered it, he latched on and started working in earnest.

Again, it took him some time, but eventually, he did it.

He understood the Origin Mirage Law Diagram and replicated it in both his inner world and his sea of consciousness.

Then, about a year later, he made it. He gained the recognition of the Origin Mirage Law.

Obviously, Nick and Pat sensed this first and were the ones who informed others. They congratulated him and said that if he needed anything, he mustn’t hesitate to ask.

After all, having a 3rd Primal Origin Lifeform truly was a big deal for the council. Berk and Gibson were understandably a little envious, but it’s not that big of a deal; they too are closely following behind. None of them became idle even with Nick and Pat holding down the fort.

Obviously, after gaining the recognition of the Origin Mirage Law, the next step was to break through to the Primal Origin Lifeform Realm.

This will be Urek’s second attempt, and even though he already experienced it once, it didn’t bring him any confidence. In fact, it made him more nervous since he had already failed the first time.

That failure was still fresh in his memories even though it happened a long time ago. The sense of defeat he felt back then was enough to turn him decadent for a long while before he recovered.

Everything was still vivid to him, and even the guarantee brought by the recognition of an origin law didn’t stop him from doubting himself.

That said, he didn’t back down. He was wary and afraid of failing again, yes, but he can’t retreat just because of that. If he did, then the doors to the Primal Origin Lifeform Realm will truly forever remain close to him.

So, in spite of his fears and doubts, he began his breakthrough.

It went exactly like how it felt during the first time. He had to endure the heavenly punishment as he broke through the shackles that were designed to erode his will and confuse him.

However, Urek was more experienced and more complete compared to before. And surprisingly, it didn’t go as badly as he thought.

He broke through the shackles on his empyrean shadow one by one, saving the midsection shackle for last. The final shackle turned to dust when he used his Origin Mirage Law on it.

And as the final shackle disappeared, Urek began to understand what both Nick and Pat truly felt during their turn.

The overwhelming sense of freedom he felt was seriously one of a kind, one that could not be explained with words. He likes he could do anything he ever wanted and will never have to suffer the consequences at all.

It’s incredible, and oh-so-addictive too. Urek had been in that height for a straight month before he started showing signs of returning back to earth.

Of course, there were some people who saw the whole thing happening, and if they knew about it, there’s no way that Cedric wouldn’t know.

Still, even though he knew, so what? It’s just a breakthrough. Not a big deal. It wouldn’t shake his true dominance, not even the slightest.
