Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World
Chapter 466: Everyone Has A Chance
Caelus read the offer again to make sure he hadn’t misunderstood it. The Hollow King had spent so long trapped at Half-Primordial and now Caelus could change that just by agreeing?
He glanced at the man waiting in front of him and thought about everything Sylvia had told him. The Hollow King had stopped his invasions and helped rescue the very people he had once wanted to drag into war.
Caelus understood what had driven him to that point. After choosing to help them put an end to it all, he wouldn’t throw away that chance by betraying them.
"Yes, turn him into a Primordial."
Golden light immediately poured into the Hollow King’s body. His eyes widened as the power spread through him and cracks appeared across the dark ground beneath his feet.
Caelus swiftly carried him beyond the universe with Sylvia following close behind. By the time they stopped among the currents of infinity, the light had covered the Hollow King from head to toe.
"Let it happen and focus on the transformation. We’ll be here when you finish."
The Hollow King looked at him through the glow before closing his eyes. Then the light folded around him and formed a cocoon that kept growing as it drew in the surrounding power.
Sylvia watched it for a moment before looking at Caelus. Her lips parted as she took in what he had just done.
"I really can turn other people into Primordials. It must be another use of the Axiom Origin construct."
Sylvia took his hand as her surprise gave way to a smile.
"Then we should thank it for something besides making us clean up this mess. We’ll have more people beside us when we face the Heavenly Lord and whoever is behind him."
Caelus grinned as he thought of someone else who could use the same help.
"Let’s go get Freya and make her a Primordial too."
Sylvia readily agreed and they returned to the Tier 2 World. Freya came running as soon as she noticed them and caught Sylvia around the waist.
"Big Sister, Big Brother. you’re finally back!"
Then she looked at Caelus and reached for his hand too. He laughed as she pulled them both closer to keep either one from wandering off.
"You’re coming with us this time."
Freya’s interest grew when he explained where they were going. Like the other Enders she already carried power that placed her at Half-Primordial, so she wouldn’t have to begin from the lower ranks.
"Does that mean I’ll be as strong as Big Sister?"
"You’ll become a Primordial, but don’t start challenging her the moment you wake up."
"Why would I fight Big Sister?" Freya asked as though he had suggested something deeply foolish.
Sylvia laughed while Freya waited for him to explain the transformation. Once she knew what to expect, he snapped his fingers and took them beyond the universe.
The Hollow King’s cocoon had already grown larger during their absence. Caelus brought Freya to an open stretch some distance away and let the power of his gaze fall upon her.
[Primordial Transformation initiated.]
Freya looked down as light rose from her hands. Then her Life authority spread through the glow and she closed her eyes while it began changing her body.
Sylvia stayed beside her until the cocoon formed. Caelus checked both transformations before taking her back with him to the Hollow Realm.
He could feel other authorities there that shared a connection with the construct. Faust and the other Apostle who carried the Supreme One’s authority could receive this help too, though he left their transformations for later.
Speaking of which, the authorities had been granted through the Axiom Origin. Now that it belonged to him he also had control over their source, but knowing that didn’t mean he knew how to use every authority himself.
He still had plenty to learn about the thing inside him. For now he wanted to speak to the Enders who had nearly been forced into another war.
Bane stood with the others while a man covered in gold spoke beside him. Jeffrey stopped talking as they approached and stared at Caelus as though he no longer trusted his own senses.
"You were the one guiding people on Earth from the shadows, weren’t you?"
Jeffrey nodded without taking his eyes off Caelus.
"Then thank you for everything you’ve done to help us."
Caelus looked from him to the four Enders. Chaos had folded his arms while Order waited beside Will and Bane, all of them listening closely.
"The authorities and advantages you already have will stay yours. But there’s another choice I want to offer you."
He opened the Chaos Faction’s recruitment panel and sent an invitation to each of them.
"Join my Chaos Faction and I’ll help you become Primordials. We’re going to the Primordial World, and I want people there who will stand with us."
Bane stared at him for a while before nodding.
"I’ve had enough of being locked away until someone needs my power. If joining you gives me a chance to fight back, I’ll take it."
Will and Order accepted next, followed by Chaos and Jeffrey. The gold-clad man lowered his head toward Caelus.
"Then I’ll continue doing what I can under your banner."
Caelus accepted them into the faction and felt its connection reach each new member. Memories left by the construct stirred as he examined those bonds.
Their faction system had been modeled after the factions of the Primordial World. Powerful groups already existed there, so the Chaos Faction could become far more than a way to gather people in their own universe.
The thought made him eager to see the place for himself. First he took the new members out to join Freya and the Hollow King, then began their transformations one after another.
More cocoons formed across the open space. Caelus watched until each had settled before turning his attention toward the people who would remain behind.
He brought their family and companions to the God Domain where they could continue growing without the limits of the lower worlds. Vast stretches of golden space surrounded the land beneath their feet as everyone gathered around them.
Sylvia uncovered the power in her eyes and looked toward those who had yet to become gods. A soft glow passed over Mia and then spread through the others as their mortal limits fell away.
[You have become a Lesser God.]
Mia read the notice several times while Sylvie held up her hands in disbelief. Nearby their parents and companions were having much the same reaction.
"Big Sister Sylvia, is that really all it takes for you now?"
"You still have to learn how to use it, and I expect you to keep training while we’re away."
Ayame already stood at Lesser God and had joined them to continue her own training. Caelus gave everyone time to test their strength while he called the faction’s elders together.
"They’ll be staying here for now, so arrange places for them to train and make sure nobody disturbs them. If something happens that you can’t handle, contact me immediately."
With that settled Caelus went to find Phanes.
