Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World

Chapter 465: The New Axiom And Primordial World

Caelus reached toward the fading face without knowing what he could do to stop it. He had only just awakened the Axiom Origin and it was already disappearing.

"Why would that happen now? I just gave you back your power."

"Because you are going to absorb it."

His hand stopped as the face dissolved into the golden light. Caelus searched for the presence he had been speaking to and found it slipping beyond his senses.

"Wait, you still haven’t explained how I’m supposed to do that."

The enormous rings drew inward and rushed toward him. Golden light struck his chest as the whole construct began entering his body.

Caelus gritted his teeth and tried to steady himself. Then the fading voice reached him one last time.

"Go to the Primordial World. The beings there can grow strong enough to reach the Primordial level."

An unfamiliar place flashed through his mind along with a path leading beyond their universe. He held on to that direction as more of the construct poured into him.

"The third created it. He is without a doubt the strongest, so go there and grow stronger."

The final ring disappeared into Caelus’s chest as the last words reached him.

"Build an army that can stand with you."

Caelus closed his eyes as the power spread through him. His new Primordial body shook under the force, but Endless Extraction rose to meet it.

[Talent Activated: Endless Extraction.]

The rushing power began merging with him instead of pushing against his body. He felt the Axiom Origin settle deeper until he could no longer point to a place where the construct ended and he began.

His strength kept rising as a connection opened between him and the universe. Distant galaxies appeared within his senses and the space separating them no longer kept them beyond his reach.

Earth and Star King World appeared within that vast awareness along with the reaches of the God Domain. Caelus followed the connections between them until he felt Sylvia’s familiar presence beside him.

He drew his attention back toward her and steadied the new power flowing through him.

Caelus could feel the boundaries of the worlds within it. The rules holding them together responded to his attention and waited for his will to act.

He almost reached toward one before stopping himself. Having control over something this vast didn’t mean he understood everything he could do with it.

For now he let the power finish settling and kept the worlds as they were. The last golden glow disappeared beneath his skin and he opened his eyes.

Sylvia’s hand moved beside him as time began flowing again. She looked toward the empty space where the Axiom Origin had been and then immediately turned to him.

"Hubby, where did it go?"

"It merged with me."

He was still trying to accept that himself. Caelus looked at the place the rings had occupied and reached inward to feel their power answering from within his own body.

Sylvia caught his hand and examined him as though she expected something to break through his chest.

"You couldn’t give me a little warning?"

"I didn’t get much of one either."

Caelus explained that time had stopped around them while the Axiom Origin spoke to him. He told her about Endless Extraction’s true nature and the third being whose identity the construct had refused to reveal.

Her hold tightened when he repeated the warning about being heard. Then he explained that its consciousness had faded as it gave him its power.

"It told me to find the Primordial World and build an army there. That place has beings who can grow into Primordials."

Sylvia looked from him to the space beyond their universe.

"And you know how to find it?"

"Luckily, it left me the way there when we merged. We won’t have to wander through infinity hoping to stumble across it."

He could still feel that direction among the countless currents beyond their home. Going there would have to wait until he had dealt with the people whose power he had taken.

"What about the Enders?" Sylvia asked as her gaze returned to him.

Caelus smiled and reached toward the connections that now belonged to him. He could feel their authorities held within the power he had gathered.

"I only needed the power mixed into their authorities to wake the Axiom Origin. Now I can separate the two and give the authorities back."

He hadn’t understood that when he drew everything out of them. What he had taken together now came apart under his control.

Sylvia had never lost her own strength because she was already a Primordial. Only the portion needed to restore the construct had left her and her Death authority remained part of her.

Caelus checked her connection before turning to the others. Then he sent their authorities back along the paths that linked them to him.

Far away in the Hollow Realm, Bane felt his missing power rush back into his body. Chaos stopped examining his hands as the same change passed through him.

"It’s coming back!"

Will and Order recovered theirs moments later. At the same time Life returned to Freya in the Tier 2 World and Caelus felt each authority settle with its owner.

He released the connections once he was sure the return was complete. Then he took Sylvia with him to the Hollow Realm.

The Enders were still testing their recovered powers when the pair arrived. Bane immediately turned toward Caelus while the Hollow King approached from beside him.

"I take it you found what you needed."

"I did, though the Axiom Origin is part of me now."

The Hollow King stopped a few steps away. His gaze moved over Caelus as he tried to sense the construct’s power but of course, how will he be able to do that? he was far stronger now.

Caelus told him how it had awakened and merged with him. Then he explained its final request to find the Primordial World and gather beings who could grow strong enough to help them.

"I know where it is, so we can go there once we’re ready."

As Caelus looked toward the Hollow King, a system panel appeared beside the man. His eyes widened and the rest of what he had intended to say died in his throat.
