Chapter 1750 1750: Divine Touch (Part 2)

The gloves were Adam's first Nexus. In fact, over the years, he'd had several variations, from simple gloves to battle gauntlets, with which he created devastating waves that made his threads tremble.

Now, it was time to return to the classics, but with a divine twist.

Tap.

A light touch stopped Zin, who was ready to end their fight with the next hit. Given how badly Adam was wounded, that would have been more than enough.

Sure, Zin had little time to realize what was happening. All he understood was that red gloves had appeared on Adam's hands and something else had awakened within him.

For the first time in several years, his monster instincts had kicked in, which could only mean one thing, he was in real danger.

Click!

Zin snapped his fingers as he found himself several meters behind.

A wave of confusion swept through the stands. Everyone thought the fight was about to end, but Adam had not only woken up but gained a new weapon.

Among the hundreds of monsters who had come to watch the fight, there were only two who knew exactly what had happened.

Es'aha glanced at Kaerno, clenching her fists tightly. 'Tsk, so he absorbed Queen Elisa's blood? He did that just now? Just moments before Zin's victory?!'

Kaerno's smirk grew wider and wider.

'So, gloves? Well, let's see what they're capable of. You spent Queen Elisa's blood on this weapon, so it must be something special, right?'

Crack.

With a crunch of bones, Adam rose from the ground, immediately noticing a new wound on his chest. Pain radiated from his essentially broken ribs, which were still holding his heart and lung in place, thanks to the single, precise cut Zin had made.

Blood was flowing from his wound, and if this continued, Adam wouldn't be able to fight for much longer.

At the same time, Zin glanced at Adam's gloves.

They seemed to have nothing unusual about them, but soon, Zin noticed one interesting detail.

Three thin black iron pipes ran along the gloves, between Adam's knuckles. The pipes ended at Adam's wrists in sharp points.

'Hmm? Isn't his power in threads and cuts? Why does he need these gloves and pipes? Moreover... Could this be his Nexus?'

A glint flashed across Zin's eyes as he realized what was happening here.

'Wait… So all this time, Queen Elisa's blood has been blocking his Nexus? If that's the case, then these gloves… were they born from her blood?'

Thump!

Zin's heart raced with fear. He knew that Adam's Nexus was a powerful weapon, just like any Phantom's, but now everything was completely different. It was a weapon forged from the blood of Queen Elisa. It was an entirely different level.

"Agh."

Adam let out a heavy sigh as the pipes on his right glove trembled.

Crimson blood gushed from the pipes, hovering before Adam. At his will, the blood transformed into a multitude of bright red threads, which moved swiftly toward the cut on his chest, closing his wound just as the white threads had on his shoulder.

'Are these new threads…?' Zin grew wary before dismissing the thought. 'No, that's not it. The whole point is this blood. If he could turn this blood into threads, what else are his gloves capable of?'

Before continuing their fight, Adam looked at Kaerno with a sly smile on his face.

"Hmm?" Kaerno raised an eyebrow in curiosity.

It was a rare occasion when he didn't know what would happen next.

Whoooooosh!

With a sharp movement, Adam tore off his ragged robe, the loose-fitting garments Kaerno had given him before the fight. It was his style, but not Adam's.

Before anyone could catch a glimpse of his bare torso or anything else, powerful streams of blood gushed from six spouts on his gloves, covering his body in a thick layer of blood.

In no time, the blood turned into thousands of threads that wove a long crimson coat for Adam, with a high, pointed collar and three black straps hanging down from the middle of his torso. The bottom hem reached his ankles, while the sleeves were quite short, ending just below his elbows.

"Tsk." Kaerno clicked his tongue with a displeased look. "Why does everything always end up like this? What is it about my style that they don't like?"

Sarka's eyes sparkled at the stars.

"Whoah! His new outfit is so cool! Boss, you need to learn how to dress. Your style sucks!"

Kaerno touched his temples with such a sad look that it seemed like he was about to cry.

"Ah… Nobody likes my clothes… My dream of becoming a tailor will never come true..."

Sarka stared intently at him. "Boss, you do know that there isn't a single monster in your pillar who'd fall for this, right?"

In response, Kaerno leaned on his fist.

"Pfffft, yeah, it was a mistake to take you all in. My pillar is full of thugs without a shred of mercy."

"Hehehe, like boss, like subordinates, isn't that right?"

Kaerno smirked, directing his gaze toward Es'aha.

"Yeah, I guess you're right, little scum."

Es'aha was the second monster who knew that all this time, inside Adam's inner space, lay the blood of Queen Elisa. So, she easily guessed where his gloves had come from.

'Shit! How did he do that?! Just a little more and Zin would have won!'

STEP!

Adam's tall boots, which had appeared along with his coat, struck the ground as he took a step forward.

"Are you ready to continue?"

Zin assumed a battle stance. "These gloves… Is this your Nexus?"

Adam nodded.

"Yes. I would have liked to show you the previous version, but I'm afraid that's no longer possible."

"What you said before you did that… is it true?"

Adam smiled as his energy flowed into the gloves.

"Of course. I promise that at the end of the fight, you'll hear something unique. It'll be a completely new sound to you, and nothing else will ever compare to it."

Zin smiled nervously. "That's quite a serious promise."

Tremble.

A grid of red threads appeared before Adam, tightly pressed against one another, like a blueprint superimposed on space.

"I know. That's exactly why you need to be ready, Zin."
