Chapter 1751 1751: All Cost Sound (Part 1)

Zin had no trump cards left. He had used everything he had the moment he activated his Holow Marks. The golden headphones on his head were his final boost.

Adam was in the same situation. In fact, he had run out of all his trump cards much earlier, but... only now did he reveal his Nexus, which completely turned the tide of the battle.

The main problem for Zin wasn't that Adam had shown him his Nexus, but that Zin didn't know what Adam was capable of now.

"These threads… what is their purpose?" Zin muttered to himself, staring at the red grid floating in the space before Adam.

In response, Adam smiled before raising his right hand, running his fingers along the three horizontal threads.

Ripple! Ripple! Ripple!

The threads trembled before vanishing.

'Agh?'

Zin blinked as three red blades appeared right in front of him, ready to slice him to pieces.

'Shit!'

Click!

Zin snapped his fingers as he stepped aside, but one of the blades grazed his shoulder, leaving a deep cut.

The three red blades slammed into the arena wall, raising a cloud of dust and sending a shiver through the spectator stands.

Shock flashed in Zin's eyes as he turned to Adam with a grim expression.

"I see. Most likely, this is just a fraction of what his new Nexus is capable of, right?"

The sound waves converged on Zin's hand, forming a solid blade.

'Alright, I have no choice but to attack head-on. I can't let him fire blades at me from a distance. Sooner or later, he'll hit my weak spot!'

With a desire to win, which was a rarity for Zin in itself, he lunged forward, leaping from one spot to another.

Adam could have tried to attack him again with the red blades, but he realized the chances of hitting Zin were slim.

Zin used the sound around him to teleport short distances, thus leaving Adam no choice but to engage in close combat.

'He thinks he can beat me up close with just one hand?' Adam smirked as his gaze fell to his gloves. 'Alright, I can work with that. Unlike me, he doesn't know all the details.'

Step.

Zin stepped forward, and in the next moment appeared right in front of Adam. His sound blade sliced through the wind, ready to strike Adam with the next swing.

In no time, the blood gushed from the iron pipes as the streams of blood became a multitude of red threads streaking before Adam's eyes.

The next moment, a long blade with a round guard covering his hand appeared in Adam's grip, woven from the threads.

CLANG!

The sound and red blades collided, sending a shockwave rippling through the space.

'WHAT?!' Zin's eyes widened in disbelief.

'He just created a weapon that can deflect my blade?!'

However, that wasn't all.

With a smirk, Adam opened his left palm, where blood flows swirled rapidly, transforming into a red orb full of energy, resembling a tiny but destructive vortex.

Zin's pupils shrank as a chill ran down his spine.

'I have to dodge!' He exclaimed inwardly before clicking his tongue.

His single hand was occupied, but for him, even a simple click of the tongue was enough to manipulate sound.

Tremble!

His body trembled as he appeared a meter to the right.

Whoooooosh!

At the same moment, Adam's left hand shot forward, sweeping over Zin's shoulder.

The red orb trembled before exploding, sending a shockwave through the stands.

The massive stream of blood burst outward in a cone, possessing enough force to reduce even a very sturdy monster to nothing upon impact.

The momentum of the blood cone was enough to reach the damaged emerald clock, obliterating half of it in an instant.

Click!

Zin snapped his fingers as he retreated to a safe distance. He couldn't continue the attack without knowing what might await him in the next moment.

"Well, well," Kaerno smirked with great pleasure as he watched the battle. "It looks like Zin won't be able to dictate the pace of their battle to Adam anymore."

Sarka tilted her head, touching her lips. "Boss, do you think Zin stands a chance?"

"Of course. Though, judging by their reactions…" Kaerno's eyes swept across the spectator stands. "Most of them have already made up their minds."

He was right. None of the spectators expected Adam to pull a new Nexus out of nowhere. They were certain it would all end the moment Zin cut open Adam's chest, exposing his heart. Back then, Zin needed only one attack to finish it all, but not anymore.

"Damn it!" The man cursed, slamming his fist on the armrest of his seat. "I knew I should have taken a risk and bet on that Phantom!"

His friend gulped. "Do you really think Zin will lose? It's... Zin…"

"Tsk." The man crossed his arms over his chest. "Who knows what will happen next? But it looks like he doesn't have any more tricks up his sleeve."

Sure, some of the spectators still believed in Zin's victory, but their numbers had dwindled significantly compared to the start of the fight.

For Es'aha, this was a harsh blow.

'Zin… I convinced you to fight at the Grim Court, your first fight here… it shouldn't end in defeat!'

She could do nothing but watch and hope for his victory.

Step.

Adam stepped forward, approaching Zin with a calm stride.

Although he now looked like the favorite, that wasn't entirely true.

'We're both on the brink.' Adam stared at Zin. 'Our wounds are draining us, and we both have almost no energy left.'

He looked at his blade, which had shattered into threads at his will.

The blood took the form of a dense ring before his palm, creating a cross within the rings, resembling a crosshair.

'Alright.'

Adam smiled bitterly as his coat trembled, enveloping his frame in blood.

'A few more attacks are all I can manage, Zin. If you hold out, the victory will be yours!'
