Chapter 1749 1749: Divine Touch (Part 1)

Zin couldn't let Adam destroy the blood bubble, because along with it would go the sound he was ready to enjoy for a long time to come in this strange space.

However, Zin had completely forgotten that in Adam's domain, Adam alone held all power over this tiny world.

The moment Adam realized what needed to be done, the moment he sliced through the blood bubble, Zin's melody was over.

Following his will, the blood flows trembled and, in a single current, headed toward the center of his Evolution Tree.

From the very beginning, the blood bubble had taken Adam's Nexus hostage.

Sure, even without his staff, Adam had won important battles. But his Nexus had always been a vital part of his power. Without his weapon, he was significantly weaker than he could be, that was obvious.

Now, the time had come for Adam to meet his staff one last time.

The blood flows crashed into the Staff of Defeat, tearing through its outer gene shell.

The Staff of Defeat offered no resistance. After all, it had been preparing for this moment for a long time, and finally, the time had come for it to ascend.

At the Evolution Tree, a great void remained, into which darkness rushed from the inner space. In any other situation, this would have been a catastrophe, but Adam knew he had nothing to worry about.

Usually, the Path Construct did not answer Adam's questions. The only exceptions were when he wanted to know where he needed to go to obtain a particular item.

However, this time, the Path Construct did not ignore him.

It wasn't the answer Adam had hoped for, but he realized he wouldn't get anything more.

All that was left for him to do was smile bitterly and watch the process unfold.

Under the pressure of the blood flow, the Staff of Defeat cracked in the middle. The purple cracks widened until the staff broke in two equal parts.

Adam's heart sank as he looked at his destroyed Nexus, at the purple energy emanating from its broken edges like a magical flame wandering through the darkness.

But the halves of the staff were not left behind.

In the next moment, the blood flows surged toward them, completely engulfing them in a crimson vortex.

Adam stood aside, hoping everything would turn out well.

All his Nexuses had been useful, possessed unique abilities, and had helped him win countless battles.

However, he was ready to admit that not all of them were equal. One weapon would always be better than another, and now, Adam wanted to get the best he'd ever had.

"I have too many weapons," Adam thought, clenching his fists. 'My needle, the spears, the imaginary blades, my past Nexus, and even the thread wings. Damn it! I'm a walking arsenal!'

Still, Adam didn't think he needed heavy armor or a large shield. Something like that would completely ruin his fighting style and the pace he was used to.

He needed something between armor and a weapon.

The blood flows became more active as the space trembled.

Adam grew alert, but his gaze remained steady. He couldn't miss this crucial moment.

With a bright flash, two blood vortexes exploded, leaving two identical objects in their place.

At first glance, Adam was confused, but very soon a satisfied smile appeared on his face.

Two gloves made of black fabric on the bottom and a sturdy, red composite material on top, resembling dragon scales, hovered in the darkness.

The corners of Adam's mouth turned upward.

"Divine Touch? Hah, considering whose blood it was, that's a pretty fitting name, isn't it?"

The gloves trembled, and in the next moment, like two falling comets, they crashed right into the center of the Evolution Tree to close the void left behind.

With a deafening roar, the Divine Touch landed, closing the void not with the usual red bark that smoothly blended into white.

The vibrant light emanating from the gloves burned away all the darkness that had managed to seep into the Evolution Tree, becoming a full-fledged part of Adam's powers.

"I see…" Adam looked at his hands. "So it's time to go back to the classics? Huh, good. The Path Construct was right. This is exactly what I wanted."

Weapon and armor in one? The gloves were an excellent solution.

Sure, Adam wanted to read the description of the Divine Touch and check the conditions of the Third Grand Star, but right now he had a more important task.

He closed his eyes as the red gloves covered his hands.
