Chapter 1584 1584: Another Warrior
Chapter 1584 1584: Another Warrior
When a Lord faced the Second Rank Phantom or the K4-Phantom, who was on the verge of evolution, there was one factor that could show how strong each side was.
It was a kind of test, albeit fairly accurate.
What was the essence of this test?
Well, it was simple — whoever showed their weapon first was the weaker one.
Liliane summoned her rapier, her Arc, hoping to finish off the unknown hunter in one attack and capture Adam. She wasn't going to waste time on Alexia because she knew she couldn't withstand even one hit.
But everyone else, except for the young man, summoned their Arcs when they saw that Goen was able to stop Liliane's barrage.
This wasn't part of the plan. They acted on instinct, and that was the moment they failed the test.
"W-Wait..."
The blue-haired girl flinched as she looked at her bow and Goen's empty hands.
The realization struck her, as well as everyone else.
"This is serious." The pale man frowned. "There are seven of us, and we all summoned our Arcs, while he didn't show his Nexus. Shit."
"Hey!" The young man exclaimed. "Not everyone! Unlike you, I'm not afraid of him! Hahaha!"
The axe man snorted. "Tsk. Arrogant, little bastard. That shows that your instincts are blunt. You can't sense a threat when it's right in front of you!"
Whooooooosh.
Liliane ignored their conversation as she slowly descended. She was no longer hovering, the energy enveloping her feet allowing her to stand directly on the surface of the water. To some extent, it was a variation of how they stood in the air and flew.
She pointed her rapier, giving an order.
"Listen to me. Now our target is this hunter. We will destroy him and complete our mission."
The blue-haired girl placed her bow on the ground and drew a water arrow onto the string. The red-haired girl clapped her blades together, causing electrical discharges near her, and the pale man disappeared into the shadows, preparing to surround the entire lake.
The axe man and hammer man gripped their Arcs tighter, preparing to support Liliane, and only the young man remained relaxed, floating in the air.
"You..." Liliane hissed, staring intently at Goen. "Summon your Nexus! Show us a worthy fight!"
"Nah, I'm afraid that's impossible." Goen waved his hand carelessly. "My fists will be enough for you."
Such insolence and arrogance on the part of the unknown Phantom angered Liliane, but she could do nothing but start the fight.
Whoooooooosh.
At her gesture, the axe man lunged forward.
It wasn't the most common scenario for their team, but they knew how to act against a single strong opponent. They had gone through such training both in theory and in practice.
"You look down on us, right?" The axe man said, gripping his axe tightly with both hands.
"I will make you acknowledge our strength and fear the Befallen Crown!"
Yellow electrical discharges reflected in the man's eyes as his axe came down directly on Goen.
BLAST!
A stream of water gushed upward, momentarily obscuring their silhouettes.
Everyone held their breath as something flew sharply from the other side.
Whoooooooooooosh.
The axe man's body flew past the fifth team, breaking trees with his body until he reached the cliff.
With their eyes wide open, everyone turned around sharply. They couldn't believe it.
"GHA!" The axe man gasped in pain as blood gushed from his body.
Only he, Liliane, and the hammer man wore armor. For the two of them, it was heavy armor that provided actual protection even against other Lords, truly dangerous monsters.
But... it couldn't help against Goen.
The imprint of his fist was right in the solar plexus area, the armor crumpled like a sheet of paper.
Hot steam emanated from Goen's fist, not a scratch remained on his skin.
"Guys, if this were your strongest warrior, then I would advise you to run in fear. You don't know who you're fighting."
"Pffft." Liliane snorted. "That punch is nothing to us! Am I right?"
Stomp!
The axe man climbed out of the debris and nodded deeply.
"Of course. It's nothing. I've taken much stronger hits in my life."
Without warning, the blue-haired girl fired her bow. The water arrow moved at tremendous speed straight toward Goen, cutting through the surface of the lake.
Wheeez!
At the same moment, the red-haired girl appeared from the side in a crimson flash. Her blades were charged with lightning energy, ready to pierce Goen's neck while he was distracted by the arrow.
'Great. He won't have time to react to both of us!' She thought.
Thump.
Her heart sank with fear when Goen's left eye shifted to the side, staring intently at her.
'Agh? He noticed me... T-That fast?!'
The water arrow reached its target, but Goen did not dodge.
Clutch.
He caught the arrow in midair. The trembling tip stopped right in front of his emotionless face.
His shoulder tilted, and his torso turned.
Before anyone could understand what was happening, he threw the water arrow straight at the red-haired girl with such force that it caused an air ring in midair.
THRUST!
Blood spurted from her shoulder as intense pain reflected on her face.
'Shit! I have to change position!' She tried to think about the fight, ignoring the pain.
Tremble!
With a tremor of space, Goen appeared in front of her as his fist plunged into her stomach.
The shockwave threw her high into the air, far beyond the barrier that kept monsters from approaching his house.
Sure, the red-haired girl was a Lord, but for the monsters of the Primal Lands, even that was no limitation.
Several ice wyverns immediately appeared among the clouds, wanting to tear the girl apart while she was weak.
Goen narrowed his eyes as he became more serious about their fight for the first time.
For some reason, all the wyverns stopped as someone appeared next to the girl.
The man with blue skin, a single horn on his head, and hooves instead of feet.
"Well, well, that was a strong blow, right?" The Old Horn grinned as he turned to the girl.
He grabbed her firmly by the shoulder and asked:
"You know. Maybe we don't need a weakling like you, what do you think?"
