Chapter 1580 1580: End of Rest (Part 1)
Adam stared at the massive piranha at his feet for a moment as he turned to Goen, for whom this was nothing unusual.
"I take it even this piranha can't impress you?" Adam asked.
In response, Goen shrugged.
"I don't want to disappoint you, but it's not uncommon to encounter far more dangerous fish and water monsters here. Although, for the first time, this is more than enough."
Alexia waved her hand.
"I want to try too! I'm sure I can catch more fish than Adam!"
Goen crossed his arms over his chest.
"Go ahead. But don't turn this into a competition. One more fish and that's it. Even though you're my guests, we can't eat that much food."
"Hah!" Alexia chuckled. "You don't know my appetite! But, fine, one try will be enough for me to beat Adam!"
Nothing unexpected happened as Goen explained everything to Alexia just as he had done before with Adam.
She cast the bobber into the water, expecting to catch a real sea king. She wasn't going to settle for anything less.
Tick. Tick. Tick.
The bobber jerked as Alexia's eyes widened. Even faster than Adam had done, she jerked the fishing rod, pulling the hook out of the water.
But... there was no big shadow or scary water monster.
A tiny fish no bigger than her palm fell in front of Alexia. It flapped its fin, hoping to return to the lake.
"What the hell is this?!" Alexia shouted.
Her eyes darted from Adam to Goen and back.
"No, no, no! That doesn't count! Give me another try!"
However, before Alexia could realize it, Goen was already ahead of her, and his fishing rod had disappeared from Alexia's hands.
He put the fishing rod on his shoulder and turned around.
"That was your only chance. As I said, we have more than enough. Follow me, help me choose some spices. I have a lot of them."
Alexia clenched her fists, but did as he said. Goen wasn't harsh, but he clearly wasn't someone to be annoyed.
As a result, Adam was left alone by the fire. The heat from the coals would last for a long time, at least a few hours, until the last spark disappeared.
'Hah, once upon a time, a spark like that changed my whole life. Sure, it wasn't a flame, but still... There are definitely similarities.'
He sat down on a rock, looking at the night sky as he slowly closed his eyes. He wasn't going to sleep, he definitely didn't feel like it right now, but he had one important thing to do.
Darkness surrounded him as he slowly opened his eyes.
The Path Construct had changed, one of the conditions had been fulfilled, and the Third Grand Star was shining much earlier than before.
Still, his gaze was fixed on the Evolution Tree, on the central part of it where not only one of his genes was located, but also someone very important.
Adam blinked as he crossed dozens of meters, finding himself right in Lone Blaze's chamber.
"Oh..." He gasped, staring at her new look. "How many times has your appearance changed? Third or fourth?"
Lone Blaze smiled faintly, turning to him.
"Does it matter? What matters is that I've become significantly stronger. But you already know that. How do you like your new ability?"
"Speaking of which."
Adam blinked as a series of runes floated before him.
[End Bliss
In the heat of battle against a powerful enemy, you reached a state of the highest bliss. You were too distracted by the fight and did not notice the internal struggle that was taking place at the center of your power. Now, thanks to your will and your allies who were able to respond to your desire, you have gained the power to turn even the most formidable enemy into a handful of ashes.]
"Hmm?"
Adam raised an eyebrow in curiosity.
"I felt something was happening here, but I couldn't understand what it was. Are you okay?"
Lone Blaze nodded.
"Yes. I feel better than ever. Although... I don't really want to remember what I had to do to survive the flood of new power. But there is one problem you should be aware of."
"Huh?"
Lone Blaze silently looked away.
Adam turned around just in time to see the Silver Weaver sitting in the darkness as if it were a chair. His legs were crossed, and his hands, well... Adam immediately noticed them.
"What? Where the hell is your left arm?"
The Silver Weaver glared at Lone Blaze.
"Let's just say that your energy flow turned out to be much more powerful than we expected. I had to make a sacrifice so that Lone Blaze could survive. Otherwise... not only would she have died, but you wouldn't have been able to defeat that dragon, which would have meant the end for all of us."
Adam nodded thoughtfully. He understood that this was a serious issue and that he was lucky that the Silver Weaver had taken such measures to save the situation.
"So, when will you recover? You lost a part of yourself, which means my ability is now weakened too, right?"
The Silver Weaver nodded in confirmation.
"Until I'm back to normal, I don't recommend betting on your needle. We have enough energy — all I need is time and for the energy to flow faster through the Evolution Tree."
He continued:
"I mean, if you practice or fight someone, my recovery will be faster, but it's not necessary."
"I see. In that case, I'll try not to get involved in fights. I don't want to take any risks, even if it helps you recover faster. One week isn't a long time at all."
The Silver Weaver waved his single hand.
"Fair enough."
A few minutes later, they discussed a few more topics, and Adam was ready to leave, but before that, he approached the Path Construct.
The Third Grand Star of his Constellation had already received part of its future light, but that was not enough.
He had to fulfill two more conditions.
"Blood of God and Bottomless Void, right?" Adam muttered, looking at the great mechanism.
His gaze grew darker.
"If not dragon blood, then what would fulfill this condition, and... Bottomless Void?"
Adam's lips trembled.
"Shit, that doesn't sound good at all."
