Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1640 The Landon Family Seeks Someone
Mabel Quinn listened and couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief. If Kyle hadn’t grown suspicious, she might not have learned so quickly that Lady Landon was actually her biological mother.
"I think Daniel Harris initially asked you about the badge, saying he needed to confirm something before telling you. It should be this matter. Daniel must also be investigating whether you’re a Landon family child," Kyle Kinston said.
Mabel Quinn’s eyes showed a hint of heaviness, "I owe Daniel too much." Perhaps it’s a debt she could never repay in this lifetime.
Kyle gently held Mabel’s hand, "In this life, however much you owe him, I’ll help you repay it."
Mabel pursed her lips, "Who exactly is trying to harm Daniel? Can it be found out?"
"Currently, there’s no result. No one knows what happened between Daniel Harris and Old Man Landon when they were alone in the study. Everything will only be known once Daniel wakes up," Kyle said.
Mabel suddenly mentioned Old Man Landon, "You brought me to his funeral then, didn’t you?" Reflecting now, attending that funeral felt somewhat abrupt, not like Kyle’s usual behavior.
Kyle nodded, "At that time, there hadn’t been a chance to conduct a DNA test on your and Lady Landon’s hair, so I didn’t dare tell you. But I feared you might regret not attending your biological grandfather’s funeral in the future, so I brought you along."
"Thank you," Mabel let out a long breath, grateful. He understood her; missing that funeral would indeed have become a regret in her heart.
"I do everything with the hope that you’ll be happy," Kyle said. "Regarding the Landon family and your mother, whatever you decide to do, I’ll stand behind you."
He said this knowing he had enough ability to shield her from all storms, even if Old Man May wanted to intervene with tricks, he wouldn’t give Old Man May the chance.
When the car arrived at the Landon family’s gate, as Kyle was about to ring the doorbell, Mabel took a deep breath and said, "Let me do it."
Then she walked up to the door and solemnly pressed the doorbell.
This... was her mother’s home, and now she had come here, and soon she would be meeting her biological mother.
Years ago, because of Granny Taylor, her mother mistakenly believed she was dead. Maybe it was due to this, combined with a lover’s disbelief and a child’s demise, that her mother went mad.
Granny Taylor’s mistake, she can no longer say anything about it. The deceased are gone, and perhaps from the depths of her heart, Granny is also regretting her past actions.
When the servant opened the door, they asked, "Who are you two here to see?"
"We’re here to see Lady Landon," Mabel said.
"Oh?" The servant was startled and said awkwardly, "Our lady isn’t available to see you two today, please come another day."
"Not available?" Kyle said calmly, "That’s alright, we can go inside and wait until Lady Landon is available to meet us."
"The two of you should leave," the servant said urgently, attempting to close the door.
Mabel suddenly pressed against the door, suspiciously asking, "What exactly is wrong with Lady Landon? Has something happened?"
"N-no..." the servant was eager to refute, but the more they did, the more it aroused suspicion.
