Chapter 1641 Back Garden

The servant tried once again to close the door, but Kyle Kinston pushed forcefully, causing the servant to stagger and retreat several steps. The door was completely pushed open.

Kyle Kinston supported Mabel Quinn as they entered through the door. The servant, seeing this, exclaimed, "How can you just barge in like this? This place..."

Mabel Quinn looked around the Landon home inside the door. This was her mother’s house; it turned out her mother’s real surname wasn’t Summer but Landon.

"This is my mother’s home. Why shouldn’t I be allowed to enter?" Mabel Quinn said.

Huh? Mother’s home? The servant was stunned, unable to react before another voice asked, "Where exactly is Mrs. Landon now?"

This voice was cold, carrying a commanding tone that startled the servant into shivering, feeling a chill run up from her soles, "In... the back garden..." the servant stuttered.

It was as if a force compelled her to reply.

"Then lead the way," Kyle Kinston said coldly.

The servant had no choice but to lead the way, thinking to herself that she was forced, and if the young lady blamed her later, at least she wouldn’t be at fault.

Just... the woman said this was her mother’s home; who was she referring to as the mother? Could it mean Mrs. Landon? Goodness, what on earth was going on here? The servant pondered while walking and felt her mind was a mess.

Under the servant’s guidance, Mabel Quinn and Kyle Kinston approached the back garden of the Landon Family, but at the outermost entrance of the garden, they were stopped by protective guards of the Landon Family.

"Ah Xiu, didn’t the young lady say no one was allowed here besides Master Mei? Why did you bring two outsiders?" the other party questioned.

The servant called Ah Xiu was sweating profusely, hastily replied, "They forced me to find Mrs. Landon; they barged in suddenly, and I couldn’t stop them."

Several of the guards looked unfriendly, and the leader said, "You better leave the Landon Family immediately, or else..."

However, before he could finish, a scream came from inside the back garden, "No... no..."

Mabel Quinn trembled all over; the sound was...

The servant named Ah Xiu muttered, "Ah, the madam is at it again..."

"Madam?" Mabel Quinn urgently asked Ah Xiu, "Is this sound coming from Mrs. Landon?"

Perhaps it was the urgency on her face that caused Ah Xiu to stammer in reply, "Yes... yes."

"What’s happening with Mrs. Landon?" Mabel Quinn pressed Ah Xiu’s shoulders, even more urgently.

Ah Xiu moved her lips, just about to answer when the guard yelled, "Ah Xiu!"

Ah Xiu seemingly startled back to awareness, clenched her mouth shut, refusing to utter another word.

Seeing this, Mabel Quinn bit her lip tightly, wanting to rush in to see what was happening but blocked by others now.

Yet Kyle Kinston gently reassured Mabel Quinn, "Don’t worry; at least now we know Mrs. Landon is in there." Then he looked at the guards, "Is there really no room for leniency to let us see Mrs. Landon?"

"Impossible!" the guard said.

"Then it’s truly unfortunate," Kyle Kinston said, then he lowered his head and said quietly to Mabel Quinn, "In a moment, run far away quickly; hide behind that servant. She seems fairly honest."
