Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1499 - 1540: Conflict
The faces of those children turned pale. Being treated as horses by Mireille, especially such an arrogant girl, was the last thing they wanted. Yet, they dared not defy Mireille Yowell’s words and could only reluctantly lower themselves to the ground, hands and knees, ready to be ridden like horses.
Mireille Yowell loved seeing this. Children bigger than her having to comply with her commands, easy for her to direct.
But there were two exceptions among these children: Clarence Xenos and his sister.
Clarence had only ever acted as a horse for his sister, and that was by his own volition, to make her happy; he wouldn’t do it for another girl.
Therefore, even though the opera performance on stage intrigued him, he still refused to comply.
"You all get down on the ground quickly!" Mireille demanded unhappily, displeased that someone dared defy her words.
"We’re not watching anymore," Clarence said, holding his sister’s hand as he planned to leave.
But Mireille swiftly stepped forward, blocking Clarence, "Even if you’re not watching, it’s not allowed. I want to ride you, get down, or I’ll tell Mr. May!"
Clarence didn’t want to comply, stubbornly standing still, yet also afraid to leave, realizing from the other children’s behavior that this little girl’s status was not like theirs. He feared his mother might get in trouble if Mr. May found out.
Seeing this, Mireille poised to hit Clarence. But after only a couple of hits, her body was forcefully shoved aside by another figure, causing Mireille to lose her balance and fall to the ground.
Instantly, Mireille exploded in anger, "You... you actually dared to shove me!" She stood up from the ground in fury, pointing angrily at the girl of similar age who shoved her.
Usually, whatever she wanted those servants’ children to do, they did it. Who dared to shove her like that? Particularly in this pink dress she adored, which she wore today specifically to meet Jeremiah, trying to look her best. But now, part of her dress was visibly dirty, making Mireille feel humiliated.
The one who shoved her was indeed Clarence’s sister.
Clarence’s sister glared at her, her voice clearer than usual, emphasizing each word, "You can’t bully my brother, Clarence!" If someone bullied her brother, she had to protect him.
"So what if I’m bullying him? What do you think you are compared to me? You’re just the children of servants," she said disdainfully, clearly looking down on them, feeling her status was superior.
However, Mireille’s disdain had no impact on Clarence’s sister at all. She was unaffected by these words and even swayed Clarence’s hand, suggesting, "Brother, shall we go?"
Although Clarence knew pushing the young miss was wrong, he felt moved by his sister’s protective nature towards him.
His sister genuinely cared for and liked him.
But Mireille had no intention of letting them leave so easily. She grabbed Clarence’s sister’s clothes, saying, "You dirtied my clothes and knocked me down. You’re coming with me to see Mommy, Grandma, and Mr. May. I want them to punish you!"
Anyway, Mommy and Mr. May would undoubtedly take her side. They would surely harshly punish this troublemaker! As for Grandma, she rarely spoke up or reacted much, but it didn’t matter. Having Mr. May and Mommy was enough, especially Mommy, who couldn’t bear to see her suffer even a little.
