Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1498 - 1539: Little Miss
A group of children slipped out of the servants’ quarters and quietly ran towards the stage in front of the main house. Though the May residence was brightly lit at night, it was mostly limited to the outside and inside of the main house. Other areas were dimmer, and with the cover of night, the actions of the children went largely unnoticed.
A grand performance began on the stage, and the children watched with keen interest. Clarence Xenos widened his eyes, finding this performance far more captivating than those in the village. The set design and the actors’ costumes were exquisitely detailed.
Upon entering the city and arriving at the May residence, he realized just how different things were from his village.
Meanwhile, Mireille obediently stayed by Clarence’s side, sucking her thumb and staring blankly at the stage. It wasn’t clear if she was truly absorbing the spectacle or not.
Suddenly, a crisp voice rang out near the children, "Oh, you’re sneaking a peek! Who are you?"
The voice was clearly that of another child.
The children turned to see a five or six-year-old girl dressed in a beautiful pink gauze dress, white socks, and matching pink shoes. A sparkling accessory adorned her braided hair, giving her a pampered princess look.
However, her gait, as she approached, was haughty.
Clarence looked at the girl and couldn’t help but think that if Mireille wore such lovely clothes, shoes, and accessories, she’d surely outshine this little girl.
In Clarence’s eyes, Mireille was the prettiest girl, and he secretly decided he would work hard to save money to buy her beautiful clothes.
Mireille’s current clothes were all hand-me-downs from village aunties’ daughters. She had rarely worn anything new.
As the little girl approached, she seemed to recognize some of the children and disdainfully said, "Oh, it’s you guys. Today is the banquet Grandpa May is holding for my grandmother, and the show is for her. You can’t watch it."
Some of the children clearly recognized the little girl and quickly pleaded, "Miss Mireille Yowell, we’re just peeking. Please don’t tell."
This little miss was named Mireille Yowell. She had visited the May residence many times, and the children who spent considerable time there naturally knew her. She was Lady Li’s granddaughter, and whenever she visited, she liked latching onto Master May. Unfortunately, Master May wasn’t particularly fond of her company, so sometimes Master May would ask them to keep her company.
However, this little miss didn’t have the best temper, and they usually ended up in trouble, but Master May doted on her, which only made her more arrogant.
"Alright, if you don’t want me to tell, you have to get on the ground and let me ride you like a horse, then I won’t go to tell Grandpa May," Mireille Yowell said. She came out looking for Brother Jeremiah since he left his seat, but after searching for a while without finding him, she was fuming when she stumbled upon the servants’ children.
Mireille Yowell only intended to use their misfortune as a way to vent her frustration.
