DMS Chapter 247

Flinx was simply glad that he was not considered the leader of the compound. They essentially had no leader. They were just families who had gathered together in one location because of their circumstances.

At that point, no one was complaining about being homesick, mainly because they had only been in Ilioven for a little over three weeks.

The fact that Flinx's friends who had access to the System Shopping Site were generous enough to provide their families with everything they needed also contributed to this. Instead of feeling like refugees, they felt as though they were vacationing comfortably in some exotic land.

The houses they were staying in were magical and comfortable. The beauty of the compound where their towers stood was breathtaking. More than one person had commented that even in the middle of autumn, or perhaps because it was autumn, they could spend the entire day simply walking around and appreciating the beauty of the surrounding area.

The huge pond, now managed by two powerful Water Elementals, was warm enough to swim in despite the season. The Elementals also possessed abilities that made swimming in the pond not only enjoyable but relaxing. All of this made their stay in the compound feel almost unbelievably enchanting.

Because there were now so many people living in the compound, it was inevitable that they would need servants.

Flinx had allocated two six-story towers to house the servants. Servants were assigned to those who wanted them, and most people wanted at least two servants to clean their towers and serve Flinx's friends and their family members.

Because of the servants, Flinx's friends and their family members, most of whom were not accustomed to being served, felt as though they had suddenly become nobles from a story.

The main issue was the language.

Everyone had decided to attend language classes so that they could communicate with the locals.

Ambrose and Christopher had once told Flinx that because they had not instructed the servants to keep quiet about them, rumors had already begun spreading about the magical towers housing foreigners.

Those lucky enough to be hired as servants were supposedly living their best lives. The pay was generous, and they ate the same food as their "masters." They were even allowed to swim in the magical lake. More surprisingly, all of the foreign "masters" treated them as equals.

Flinx healed each one of the people who entered the compound to make sure that no sickness would spread around.

Flinx simply shrugged at that.

They had nothing to hide, so he did not care if information about them spread.

The main issue they were facing was money. They were beginning to worry about their lack of a reliable source of income.

At first, they had considered returning to their initial plan of opening a massive store that would sell items from the System Shopping Site. However, there was a major problem with that plan.

If they became targets of an organization because of something like that, they still did not have enough power to defend themselves.

They simply could not depend on Flinx alone.

Because of that, their most important goals were to increase their levels and find a way to give some of their family members Classes.

At the very least, they had already agreed on one goal: creating dungeon-delving teams.

Delving into dungeons would partially solve both their need to increase their levels and their need for funds, since the dungeons would provide them with the mana stones they needed.

During their discussion, everyone had also decided that if they wanted additional sources of income, similar to Flinx's shop managed by Olivia, they would have to start their own businesses.

Paul and Mark advised everyone to avoid going into business partnerships with one another so that problems would not arise in the future, despite the protests from those who insisted that something like that would never happen.

Once they started delving, everyone would be responsible for paying the servants assigned to their respective towers.

Their family members were simply glad that the servants would not be staying in their towers. All of the servants would live in the two towers Flinx had created specifically for them, and based on the servants' reactions, they were satisfied with the arrangement.

Since they had already settled the matters of dungeon delving and additional sources of income, they moved on to discussing electricity.

They concluded that the electrical network did not need to be widespread. Instead, each tower could have its own independent system, and the electrical systems would be powered by generators and solar panels.

The best part of their setup was that, with the Mending spell, damage to their devices could be repaired easily.

They could even save money on fuel. Even on cloudy days, their solar panels would still work if someone cast the Light spell directly onto them.

They had tested this and discovered that the light produced by the Light spell was sufficient to power their solar panel systems.

The next topic they discussed was the summons Flinx would need to create.

The first would be the eight Elementals that would guard each of the dungeon-delving teams.

They decided that each team needed one tank, which meant one of the Elementals would be an Earth Elemental.

The other needed to be fast enough to rescue anyone who suddenly found themselves in danger, so they decided that the second guardian would be a Wind Elemental.

That meant that each delving team would have two elementals guarding them.

The Elementals assigned to the delvers could be changed depending on the results of their dungeon expeditions. However, Paul and Mark reminded everyone that the Elementals should not be used to attack the monsters.

Their primary purpose was to serve as tanks and shields. The damage to the monsters should only be done by Flinx’s friends so they could earn the experience for leveling up.

Their next topic was whether Flinx needed to summon Elementals to guard the compound.

They decided that a couple of Wind Elementals would be sufficient for that purpose, together with the guards they had hired to protect their homes.

With those summons, including Pip, Flinx's thirteen summoning slots were filled.

However, he still had eight additional summoning slots available from his Cleric Class.

Flinx did not delay. He summoned all of the Elementals they had discussed inside the meeting hall.

He had to use his twelfth-level spell slot because his thirteenth-level spell slot was still on cooldown after he had used the Wish spell in that slot to turn Bernard young, as he had promised.

Once Flinx had completed the summoning, he commanded the Elementals to follow only the orders of the members of the delving teams to whom they were assigned.

The two Wind Elementals assigned to guard the compound were commanded to follow the orders of all the former dungeon slaves.

Their next topic was turning some of the older parents young.

There were sixteen older people who wanted to become young again.

They could not simply deny their request, especially since Flinx had already turned Penelope and Bernard young.

That meant Flinx's thirteenth-level spell slot would be on cooldown for the next 336 days.

It did not really matter to Flinx. He still had plenty of other spell slots available for his spellcasting, including his two twelfth-level spell slots and his Cleric spell slots.

The issue was deciding the order in which the Wish spell would be used to turn the older parents young.

They decided on a simple lottery system.

They placed everyone's names into a small bucket. The first name Paul picked would be the first person Flinx would turn young.

Flinx's friends thanked him for being willing to have his thirteenth-level spell slot remain on cooldown for almost an entire year so that he could turn some of their parents young again.

Once the names had been arranged in order, it had become late enough that they decided to continue the meeting the following day.

They still had several topics to discuss, and they planned to finish everything tomorrow.
