DMS Chapter 246

During the next few days, Flinx and his friends busied themselves with clearing the neighboring land that he had asked Olivia to purchase. Those who did not have a tower yet continued staying in the temporary towers that Flinx had conjured.

They had taken over the work from the construction workers Olivia had hired to clear the land, simply because it was much faster for Flinx and the others to use their spells and do the work themselves.

Even though all of his friends were still level one, the former Druids among them were experienced enough to guide Flinx on which spells he needed to make the neighboring land as beautiful as the original compound.

Since Flinx had a large number of Wizard and Cleric spell slots, he used the Wish spell to replicate the Druid spells that allowed him to conjure the flora needed to recreate the beauty of the original compound.

He did not even bother thinking about the design himself since that was handled by the others. Flinx simply followed their instructions. After that, their compound had grown large enough to comfortably accommodate all of his friends’ towers.

Soon, everyone had their own towers, and each one was as beautiful as the last.

They still followed the elven aesthetic seen in the movie The Lord of the Rings, although some complained that they wanted different themes, such as modern, space opera, retro, and, surprisingly, post-apocalyptic.

Flinx had to rearrange the locations of some of the towers, including his own, so that every tower would be an equal distance from the others.

Some towers were larger than the others because their owners had larger families, but none of them were less than four stories tall.

Surprisingly, when Flinx asked Olivia to choose a tower design from the collection Paul had brought from Earth on the tablet device, she chose a six-story tower. Christopher and Ambrose wanted to have towers of their own as well, but Flinx told them they could stay with Olivia since her tower was large enough to accommodate them.

Flinx had also increased Pondy's size to six times its original size. Since Pondy now had to manage such a huge body of water and accommodate the requests of the growing number of people who had started swimming in the pond, Flinx summoned a subordinate Water Elemental to help it. They named it Pondra.

Currently, Flinx could summon a total of thirteen summons under his Wizard Class since he had already reached level thirteen in his Wizard Class. However, since he had also reached level eight in his Cleric Class, he could summon an additional eight summons.

Just from his summons alone, Flinx felt that he was already overpowered.

Flinx's summoning slots only occupied four permanent summons. They were the two Rockies that guarded Olivia and her shop, and Pondy and Pondra.

He did plan to summon more guardians for the compound, but first, he wanted to hold a meeting with everyone to discuss their next steps.

After a couple of weeks, all of the towers had become permanent, and Flinx had also used the Wish spell to turn Bernard young, as he had already promised Samuel and Bernard he would.

Because of that, the thirteenth-level spell slot was on cooldown again.

After Bernard, however, Paul asked him not to cast the Wish spell again to turn anyone young. There were now many more people who wanted the same thing, so his friends agreed that they needed to establish rules regarding the use of the Wish spell.

After those two weeks, Flinx and his friends had made the compound as beautiful as they could.

Flinx was simply glad that he was not the one responsible for the design. The others handled those aspects, while his only job was, once again, to follow their instructions and use the Wish spell to mimic fairly high-level Druid spells. This allowed him to ensure that all the foliage throughout the compound was as beautiful and healthy as possible.

The compound was now surrounded by a fairly high wall. Instead of hiring workers to build the walls and their gate, which would probably have taken a long time considering how large their compound had become, Flinx conjured them using the eighth-level Conjuration spell, Mighty Fortress.

Flinx was grateful that, like the Galder's Tower spell, he could also modify Mighty Fortress. This allowed him to use the spell to build the walls around their compound.

The walls were protected by Arcane Lock, and only their people could enter without encountering any difficulties.

Their people included all of Flinx's friends, their family members, Olivia and her brothers, the four children studying to become wizards in the Mage Guild, and all of the servants, both the old ones and the new ones Olivia had hired.

Even though the compound would be fairly secure once they completed their meeting and Flinx summoned elementals to guard their compound in addition to Pondy and Pondra, they still followed Olivia's suggestion and hired guards to patrol the area.

Flinx also had to remove the communal area and replace it with a showering facility so that anyone who wanted to swim in the pond managed by Pondy and Pondra could shower without needing to return to their tower.

Olivia also had to hire a couple more butlers to manage the entire household, including the cook and the servants. They also hired a captain who would be responsible for managing the guards.

The main issue they were facing was their finances. The expenses were simply too great for Flinx to support alone.

So far, all of their expenses had come from the gold coins Flinx had earned through Olivia's shop. Olivia offered to contribute her own funds, but Flinx declined since the coins he had saved from his share of the shop’s earnings were enough for the moment.

Now that they had settled into their new home, it was time for them to discuss several important matters, such as how to earn enough coins to support the compound and when to return to dungeon delving so that his friends could start leveling up.

It was becoming difficult for Flinx to be the only high-level adventurer in the group.

Flinx had conjured a large, single-story Galder's Tower that they were now using as a meeting hall.

It was time for them to meet and discuss their plans.

The first meeting that day would only be attended by Flinx and his friends. No family members were invited, despite their complaints.

They wanted to discuss several matters among themselves before bringing up issues that would require input from everyone's family members.

It was late afternoon when they all gathered, and Mark would be leading the meeting.

"The first thing we need to talk about is returning to dungeon delving. We all need to level up, and we need the mana stones that the dungeon will provide us," Mark said.

He left unsaid the fact that they could no longer depend on Flinx's stockpile of mana stones.

All of them still wanted to repay the mana stones Flinx had given them as their initial funds, even though Flinx had assured them that they did not need to pay him back.

In truth, Flinx had not spent any mana stones since giving everyone their initial funds. All the expenses Olivia had incurred for hiring servants and guards, as well as purchasing food and other necessities, had been paid for with the gold Flinx earned through Olivia's shop.

They started discussing the rules they had to establish when it came to dungeon delving. First off, they all agreed to create four teams.

Each team would contain five people who had a Class and would be guarded by two of Flinx's summons.

With Flinx's Elementals accompanying them, they could afford to delve deeper into the dungeon. This meant they could level up faster while also earning mana stones at a faster rate.

One advantage of having five members per group was that they could increase the number of members if they wanted to. For example, they could include a family member who wanted to experience the dungeon.

They still had not tested whether any of their family members would receive a Class by delving into the dungeon.
