Dungeon Miner Slave
DMS Chapter 245
For the next several days, Flinx had to monitor the chat system they were using to communicate with their friends who were still on Earth. The situation there was becoming increasingly delicate.
According to Paul and Mark, the number of people investigating them had increased significantly, and they had stopped being subtle.
Everyone was gathered inside Paul’s manor, but that also meant they couldn’t leave without risking being noticed. Because of this, they devised a plan that required Flinx to travel to Paul’s mansion and bring all of his friends to Ilioven without anyone needing to leave the safety of the manor.
The situation escalated when they discovered that all of their accounts had been frozen.
That meant the people investigating them no longer cared about the legality of their actions. More than likely, they would soon take more direct measures, such as raiding Paul’s manor and capturing everyone inside.
Not everyone agreed that things would escalate that far, but Paul argued that they had to prepare for the worst-case scenario.
The distance from the park Flinx was using as his save point to Paul’s mansion was around thirty minutes by normal transportation. However, with Flinx flying while invisible, he could reach it in only a few minutes.
The problem was that Flinx needed to bring around sixty people from Earth to Ilioven.
They were the remaining former dungeon slaves and their family members.
Since Flinx could bring a total of twelve people with him using his Plane Shift spell, which was slotted into his twelfth-level spell slot, it would take five trips to transport everyone.
His thirteenth-level spell slot was still on cooldown.
Thankfully, Flinx’s transmigration system wouldn’t be in danger of disappearing because it was protected for three hours. Every time he returned to Ilioven, the protection would reset.
Samuel and Andrew gave him a detailed map and description that would allow him to reach Paul’s manor in a short amount of time.
Flinx had to remind them that he would be flying, so they modified the route to allow him to bypass the streets.
Flinx was a local in that city, so he already knew the area well enough that, after hearing their instructions, he was confident he could find Paul’s mansion without difficulty, especially since he would be approaching it from the air.
He could sense his friends’ worry through the tone of their messages in the chat system.
Flinx traveled to Earth only after he was certain that he wouldn’t get lost while searching for Paul’s manor.
The moment he arrived at the park, he checked the surrounding area. He was somewhat surprised that the people investigating them hadn’t discovered that they were using the area as their transfer point.
He didn’t see anyone suspicious nearby.
Flinx then thought that the transfer point being monitored was probably the alley they had previously used to travel from Earth to Ilioven with the psychiatrist who had betrayed them.
He cast Fly, then renewed his Invisibility spell.
Flinx also cast all of his defensive spells as a precaution.
Based on their research, the Invisibility spell should have been powerful enough to keep him safe.
According to the lore of the tabletop game their system seemed to be based on, Invisibility couldn’t be detected by infrared vision or devices that detected heat.
They had even tested this by purchasing expensive binoculars with infrared capabilities. When they used the device on someone under the effect of Invisibility, it couldn’t detect them.
It was around ten in the morning when Flinx traveled to Earth.
One mysterious phenomenon they still hadn’t discovered the reason for was that the time in Ilioven was the same as the time in Flinx’s home city on Earth.
He began flying.
Using the landmarks they had discussed, Flinx finally reached Paul’s mansion after around twenty minutes.
Once he arrived in the area where Paul’s mansion was located, Flinx noticed several suspicious vehicles nearby.
The fact that the people investigating his friends were no longer being subtle confirmed their fears that the government or the organizations interested in their mysterious abilities would soon take action.
It could happen within the next few days or even within the next few hours.
Flinx entered through the door Paul had told them to leave open for him.
Once inside the mansion, he sent a message through the chat system informing them that he had arrived.
He saw Paul emerge from somewhere inside the mansion and make a small gesture in the air, signaling for Flinx to follow him.
They had already discussed their next steps.
His friends had prepared a very large room where everyone would gather. Flinx would use it as the transfer point between Earth and Ilioven.
They had also made sure that the room wasn’t being monitored in any way.
Once they entered the room, Flinx saw more than sixty people anxiously waiting.
When he dispelled his Invisibility spell, almost everyone was surprised. A few people even let out startled squeaks.
The first thing Flinx did was memorize the room so that he could return to the exact location using Plane Shift without any issues.
He even used his tablet to take pictures and record videos of the room.
Flinx spent around thirty minutes studying the room, making sure that its layout was firmly embedded in his memory.
His friends had already arranged the people into groups, so he immediately went to the front, where twelve people were waiting.
Once all twelve people were within the area of effect of his spells, Flinx didn’t delay and activated Plane Shift.
When they reached the designated transfer point beside Pondy, Andrew, Arnold, and Arnel immediately gathered the twelve people and escorted them to the communal area.
Once the transfer area was clear, Flinx returned to Earth.
The next group was already prepared, so he didn’t waste any time and immediately brought them back to Ilioven.
When Flinx was about to travel with the final group, which included Paul and Mark and their family members, they suddenly heard crashing noises and shouting outside the room they were using as the transfer point.
The people investigating them had discovered that people were disappearing.
This confirmed their suspicion that some of the people Flinx had already brought to Ilioven had been compromised and were probably carrying some kind of tracker.
They didn’t care.
The moment everyone reached Ilioven, there was no way anyone from Earth could follow them.
The door to the room suddenly shook violently, producing a loud crash.
The people outside were forcing it open.
Flinx simply smiled and shook his head.
Then he cast Plane Shift.
A moment later, all of his friends and their family members were in Ilioven.
A huge number of people were now gathered in the communal area.
Flinx called all of his friends together and gave each of them one hundred medium-level mana stones to use as spending money.
“If you need more funds, just tell me,” Flinx said.
He wasn’t worried about his finances.
Even after distributing the mana stones, he still had a total of 6,572 low-level mana stones, 3,512 medium-level mana stones, and 2,495 high-level mana stones.
Even if his supply somehow ran dry, Flinx could simply return to dungeon delving and gather more mana stones.
Flinx noticed that many of his friends’ family members were becoming increasingly anxious.
Those who already had towers gathered their family members and brought them to their new homes.
They would all be busy for the next several hours, making their new homes as comfortable as possible using the funds Flinx had provided.
Unfortunately, Flinx still needed to conjure around eight more towers so that everyone could have a place of their own.
