Dungeon Miner Slave

DMS Chapter 244

Charlie’s parents were Thomas and Miriam. They were both sixty years old, while his uncle, Donald, was fifty-eight. Donald was a widower.

Charlie’s siblings were Sybil, who was nineteen; Jack, who was sixteen; Coby, who was thirteen; and the youngest, Mary, who was nine.

Charlie’s cousins, Donald’s children, were Brad, seventeen, and Jessica, fifteen.

Flinx still couldn’t believe that Charlie had managed to persuade every member of his family to come with him. He wanted to know how Charlie had done it, so once he had a chance to speak with him alone, he would ask.

Flinx noticed that Charlie’s family was shocked when they learned that Penelope, the bubbly young woman who hadn’t stopped talking, was Samuel’s mother and that she was sixty-four years old.

Based on their reactions, Flinx knew that all of them were interested in receiving the same treatment. He decided that he wouldn’t cast the spell again after using it on Bernard and would wait for Paul and Mark to arrive.

Flinx thought it would be best if they established some rules and organized the use of the Wish spell. Thankfully, the thirteenth-level spell slot was still on cooldown, so he could use that as an excuse if anyone asked him to cast the same spell on them.

After lunch, Charlie and all of his family members returned to their tower. They were still in the process of furnishing it using Charlie’s access to the System Shopping Site.

Andrew, Samuel, and Flinx had agreed to help Charlie set up the electrical network using a large generator and solar power equipment. Since Charlie and his family were still busy purchasing things, the three of them remained in the communal area and waited for Charlie to call them.

“Susan also purchased a lot of equipment, like a refrigerator, washer, dryer, and dishwasher. So after we set up the electrical network in Charlie’s tower, mine’s next,” Andrew said.

“Why do you need a washer, dryer, and dishwasher? A refrigerator is somewhat understandable, but those cleaning machines are a bit redundant since you could easily clean things using the Prestidigitation spell,” Flinx said.

“Did you forget that Andrew took the Druid Class? He doesn’t have the Prestidigitation spell,” Samuel said.

“I think I made a mistake with that one. I also had to buy a vacuum cleaner and other cleaning equipment,” Andrew admitted.

“Maybe you can find a magic item that can cast Prestidigitation in one of the magic shops,” Samuel suggested.

Andrew sighed.

“Maybe.”

“You can hire a servant,” Flinx suggested.

Andrew shook his head. “Susan isn’t comfortable with having a stranger in our house.”

“Your tower is huge. Sooner or later, Susan will have to hire a servant to help her clean it,” Flinx said.

Andrew merely shrugged.

They weren’t in a rush. Flinx’s friends had just arrived, and in truth, they were still in the process of adjusting to their new lives in a magical world.

“In a few days, I think it would be best if we started leveling up our Classes,” Samuel suddenly said.

“Yeah. I can’t remain at level one forever. The spells we have are simply too limited,” Andrew added.

“That’s fine. At least you’ll have one of my Elementals to tank for you, so you can level up faster,” Flinx said.

Soon, Charlie arrived and told them that it was time to set up the electrical network.

“What Class did you choose?” Flinx asked as they walked toward Charlie’s tower.

“I chose the Wizard Class. The Prestidigitation spell was simply too useful to pass up. I still purchased a washer and dryer, though. There are a lot of us in the tower, and it would be a headache if I had to do all the cleaning myself,” Charlie said.

Charlie had already purchased all the equipment they needed to set up the electrical network. With Flinx’s ability to fly and his Telekinesis spell, it didn’t take them long to complete the installation.

The fact that Charlie was an electrician and knew exactly what needed to be done also helped considerably.

While they were setting up the electrical network, Andrew told Charlie about the language lessons. Charlie, however, said that he wouldn’t force his family to attend yet. He would let them decide when they were ready.

He had already forced them to accept a lot of things, and he didn’t want to continue doing so.

Since the four of them were alone, Flinx finally asked Charlie how he had convinced his family members to come with him to another world.

“I’m quite sure that the arguments I used were the same ones the others used. I told them about the benefits of magic and Classes, and I’m quite sure that the possibility of having an extremely long life, perhaps one that could even be measured in eons, was the deciding factor that convinced them to join me.

“The fact that Earth isn’t completely closed to us was another argument I used. If they eventually became tired of living in this world, they could always return home, provided they were prepared to continue their lives without magic.

“I didn’t hide the fact that Earth is currently stripping magic from anyone and anything that arrives from another world. The only reason the magic item I used to rid my mother of her cancer was still usable was because of the protection we received after completing a wild dungeon,” Charlie explained.

It was late afternoon when they finally completed the electrical network in Charlie’s tower. They decided to set up the same system in their own towers the following day.

Flinx decided that he wouldn’t install electricity in his own tower because he planned to modify it.

Olivia had already told him that she wanted a place of her own. Once they finished preparing the land they had recently purchased, Flinx planned to give Olivia and her brothers their own tower.

Arnold, Samuel, and Andrew planned to resume dungeon delving the day after tomorrow. They also planned to bring Adonis with them to determine whether entering a dungeon would allow him to acquire a Class.

It was an experiment they had already agreed to conduct.

When night arrived, everyone gathered in the communal area again. However, Flinx knew that such gatherings would become increasingly rare as more people arrived.

Eventually, there would simply be too many of them to continue gathering for every meal. More than likely, mealtimes would become more private, and they would only gather when there was something important to discuss.

Flinx was also aware that once his friends had established themselves and gained enough power, they would most likely find places of their own.

After all, the enormous piece of land they were occupying belonged to Flinx.

Paul sent a message through the chat system they were using, informing them that they would finally be able to bring Rico, Chen, Oscar, and Fernando home the day after tomorrow.

Their family members were already waiting at Paul’s manor.

Once everyone had been gathered, they would begin transferring them to Ilioven as soon as possible.

The disappearances of Andrew, Arnold, Samuel, Charlie, and their respective family members had already begun attracting attention. Although Paul and Mark had done their best to cover everything up, people were starting to become suspicious.

Sooner or later, they expected that many people would begin investigating them.

Because of Paul’s message, they knew they would have to delay the dungeon delving they had planned for leveling purposes.

Flinx would need to concentrate on bringing everyone to Ilioven.

Flinx would have liked to set up the towers for his friends, but unfortunately, the neighboring land still wasn’t ready.

Still, the towers he could construct now didn’t have to be permanent.

His friends and their families needed somewhere to stay, and once the land was ready, setting up permanent towers would be easy enough for Flinx.
